Feuerschwanz (most people won't care if it's not pronounced correctly [foy-air-shvantz] as long as one enjoys their music) translates to Fire Tail, with the 100% intentional double meaning/ slang translation Fire Dick. Founded in 2004 as a parody band to counterpart the (sometimes overly) serious medieval folk scene with silly and/ or raunchy lyrics and ambiguous stage names. Over the years they left the straight parody behind while keeping a mostly humorous or at least light hearted approach and moved from accoustic folk over folk rock into folk metal. The original material is usually in German (with some Latin here and there) but in 2020 they started doing covers in English too. The 2024 anniversary special album "Warriors" is their first album fully in English, as a "thank you" to their non German speaking audience. It contains one newly written song, one new cover (Valhalla Calling, original by Miracle of Sound) and ten of their previous songs translated into English. Saw them live last year (the multi national symphonic metal supergroup The Dark Side Of The Moon² was guest opening band, the Austria based power metal band Warkings the support band) and it was a blast! My favourite original is "Untot im Drachenboot" (Undead on the Dragon Boat), I mean, zombie vikings, what more could one wish for? Napalm Records does have lots of "regular" artists signed but also quite a few "gimmicky" bands like Alestorm (pirate metal) from Scotland or Wind Rose³ (dwarf metal) from Italy to name just two. ²The Dark Side Of The Moon consists of members of Ad Infinitum (Swiss-German symphonic metal/ modern metal band), Feuerschwanz and Amaranthe (Swedish-Danish melodic death metal/ symphonic metalcore band). ³Wind Rose's vocalist Francesco Cavalieri featured as guest singer on the translated version of Feuerschwanz's original song "Kampfzwerg" (Battle Dwarf/ Fight Dwarf) titled "Wardwarf" (in typical Feuerschwanz style incorrectly written the German way, as one word).
They played alreday 4 times at Wacken, the biggest heavy metal festival in the world. Well known in germany for medival rock music in german with a great show, but also for great covers. Warriors of the world is awesome.
They have also great own and transfert just a Album in english. Another good medieval metal band from germany is Saltatio Mortis, with very good Videos. Songs like Darkenguard, my mother told me, Pray to the hunter or the dragonborn comes
Hi. Welcome to the Rabbithole of Feuerschwanz 😂 They've been around for 20 years. Most of the songs are in german. But they did a whole Album in english. They did some great Covers. I guess you should check out "warriors of the world" a Manowar cover. Bastard von Asgard....They have so many great songs and they are an amazing Liveband 😃 greetings from Germany 🔥😀
Their original songs are normally in German (unfortunately without captions in most cases), sometimes with some lines in other languages (English, Latin, ...). So you might miss some of the context if you don't lookup the lyrics elsewhere. Fortunately they don't use double entendres as excessive as Rammstein, so translations should not be a problem in most cases. Nevertheless most of their videos are amazing regardless of the lyrics (as well as the songs, of course). If you want to see more funny stuff from them, I would suggest the following videos. Methämmer (joke about a secret religion arround mead / alcohol) ruclips.net/video/GLsHp-lFKVc/видео.html Metfest (Mead Party) ruclips.net/video/N39NXEzDJyE/видео.html Schubsetanz (Push dance (aka mosh / pogo)) ruclips.net/video/jWXsSwAMSHA/видео.html Berzerkermode (joke about the viking hype) ruclips.net/video/OO7zUml5q20/видео.html Untot im Drachenboot ruclips.net/video/zBRquLkjmf4/видео.html Die Hörner hoch ruclips.net/video/x-A5clw2N3E/видео.html Ding - feat. ABBA, heavy metal, I didn't expect that! I think 50% of the impression comes from the video, although the singing is also a surprise, actually everything is a surprise to me because I have never heard of this band. As I can see, neither are you, it's easier for me now
Feuerschwanz (pronounced Foyer-shwanz) is a fantastic band. Both their covers and their original music are awesome, I actually also discovered them with this cover. Suggestions: as others said, warriors of the world, but also my personal favourites, Valhalla Calling (cover), Bastard Von Asgard (original). For Bastard they have both German and English version, IMO German is better, but I'd go with both so you can understand what the song is about. Thanks for your reaction

This cover was a bet. if the album "memento mori" goes to number 1 before ABBA, then they do an ABBA cover. here the result😉
