    IMPORTANT 14:17 if your computer does not ask for permission to change the file type it means your file extensions are hidden. You must go to file explorer options, click on the view tab, and scroll down to Hide extensions for known file types and UNCHECK IT. I'm sure it happened to someone else. I found myself rather confused when for whatever reason my computer decided to keep the format as (.txt)

      Dude so, so true. Started playing this game a couple weeks ago, (First Fallout game too.) I enjoyed it a LOT. One of my favourite games right now, but the bugs and errors got so infuriating, my friends told me about the mods that fix most of the issues, as they help me play the game as well. (Together in a call, it's really awesome.) But installing mods seemed so intimidating, they said it'll take ages since it's super complicated. This video did show how complicated the installation process is, but this definitely made it easier. I had everything ready in about an hour, until I ruined it myself. Back at square one, going to mod it for the second time. Good luck out there, courier!

    there's something to be mentioned about the x86 vs x64 files. Telling them to look at what their program files folder says ex: (program filesx86) isn't a good way to inform them because they can be running 64 bit windows and still have a program files x86 folder. that will lead to confusion and make them download the x86 file instead of the x64 file that they actually need. Best way for them to find out what they have is to go into windows settings and look at the system tab. There it will state which OS they are running.

    Currently viewing the 4 GB mod and I'm SUPER impressed at how you list every single step. You show where on a page to download, the folder to put things in, even where to download winrar (I like 7zip). I will note that those going for 86x need to pick the correct option when downloading the redist thing (not the first you list but the second). It wasn't any issue since it's also on the same page to download.

    For all the 2024 people: when the JIP LN NVSE Plugin says that it requires nvse 6.something or higher, it means that, since 2021 (release date of this guide), nvse has updated, and is currently at ver 6. all you have to do is click the "xNVSE v6.something" orange button, download the 7zip file (with winrar) and do the same proceedure as NVSE ver 5 in the guide :)

    • @doomer1905
      @doomer1905 5 месяцев назад

      Yeah had this issue. To anyone struggling if you’ve accidentally installed NVSE 5, just remove all the NVSE 5 files from the root folder for NV and replace it with NVSE 6 (I think it’s 6.1?) files. Easy enough.
      If you can’t remember what files are NVSE 5 in your NV root folder, redownload NVSE 5 from Nexus and match the files to the files in the NV root folder and remove them then just move NVSE 6 files in there instead.

    @ESO for your reference you say to look a the c: drive and see Program files folder that says x86 then say it will say x64. a better way to find out what version you want would be to right click the my computer icon and select properties and then look at the "System Type:" line which will say 64 bit Operating system x64 or x86 for a 32 bit system.
    In the file folder section any 64bit applications will get installed in the "Program Files" folder and any 32 bit applications will be installed in the "Program File (x86)" directory.

      @@PortableFreezer No not really but his explanation of it was lacking. If there is an x86 folder then you will likely be running a 64 bit system as that folder is normally missing on a 32 bit install (it may be there if someone accidentally installed app that works in both versions and does not check to see what OS is running? But I cannot confirm this as I have never installed a 32 bit version of an OS that supported 64bits). As the program files folder would be the main and location for all application on an x86 cpu system.

      I noticed this mistake, also. This FUBAR, on ESO's part, makes me wonder if he made anymore, that I didn't catch. Like, what if I already have those files, or newer versions, on my PC (which I'm pretty sure I do), will reinstalling them override files needed by other games? I'm pretty sure most games use these files, and most likely, if you play games a lot, they will already be installed. AAMF, when you start OutRiders, it asks if you want to use DirectX 11 or 12.

    2:55 - 3:10 No. Your explanation is wrong. x86 (pronounced as "Ex-86" like the letter in the English alphabet) refers to an older computer architecture family. Everyone running Windows 10 has a [Program Files (x86)] folder for compatibility with this older architecture. To know if you are using a 64-bit or 32-bit architecture natively go to Settings > System > About. The [System Type] will tell you which one you are using natively.
    That said, I have no idea how this choice affects any mods or their performance. I am only pointing out that the reason given for choosing between these options in the video is wrong. I do think there may be a hit on performance for anyone that has a mismatch here. For example, a 64-bit processor that is trying to compute x86 code should see a slight hit on performance because that code is being emulated. Ideally you would want these to match for maximum performance but in theory x86 will work on any system because it is built into Windows 10 for compatibility.

      Since I'm also doing this in 2022 I've run into the same issue and this is what worked for me although it was a pain.
      What I did in the first place was download the version 5 nvse from the link and dragged the files over to the Fallout New Vegas game folder. That succesfully put version 5 into the game, if i checked it with console command it was there, but in vortex it never detected and wouldnt show up in the mods section. this turned out to be a real problem because it turns out we need version 6 now, so i couldnt update it. I went to the link to download the version 6 nvse, moved the files over like before, but it wasnt working at all. I should have never downloaded the nvse from the links at all. What i ended up doing was, uninstalled new vegas, went into the New Vegas file and deleted everything that had to do with nvse, reinstalled the game, it says something about missing content but i think it fixes itself. launch the game, exit. then go into vortex. vortex was unable to automatically detect the game, so i had to manually assign the game folder. Once i did that, it had automatically detected that i needed the nvse. moral of the story, dont download any nvse off the internet if you have vortex. just let vortex do it first.
