Great camera of yeaster year. It was so rugged, took great pictures and lasted for a lifetime. I feel, like fragerance, cameras also have closest association with memories and never failed to evoke the feelings of bygone era. Thanks for posting this video.

11 years later, certo6 is still breathing life into these cameras. Thanks for sharing.

as a side note, the best depth of field is not when you focus the lens at infinity but at hyper-focal length. on a standard lens with DOF scale that means aligning the infinity sign on the focusing ring with the set aperture number on the barrel of the lens (thus, if you intend to shoot at f5.6 you must align the infinity sign with the 5.6 number. that will give you the biggest DOF possible at that aperture ;) )

Certo6 just finished servicing mthe bellows in both y Ansco Viking 6X9 & Speedex Special R 6X6 cameras. He replaced the bellows in both and serviced the shutters as well as the rangefinder in the Speedex. Both now seem like new!

Part of the Agfa family of medium format cameras started pre-War and updated into the 1950s. For this Record III, take an Isolette III (6x6), stretch it out sidewise about a half inch to allow for the 6x9 cm format, then add a better quality shutter and a better lens. Simple design; relatively (to Zeiss Ikonta) lightly built; and easy to repair when required. Weakest part: the bellows for light leaks. Similar camera with better build, and a coupled rangefinder: Voigtlander Bessa II with Color-Skopar lens (much more costly though). Also came with a 105mm version of the 85mm Apotar (3-element) lens in the Isolette along with a much less desirable Prontor shutter.

Great video. Thanks for taking the time to make it. I am considering teh purchase of one of these Agfa Billing Record III cameras. Seems that Certo6, where you mentioned you got yours, is the safest bet. From everything I have seen and heard I'm almost afraid to purchase one of these from anyone other thatn Certo6.

Nice vid of lovely camera. I've picked up a couple of 120 folders from ebay, shutters tend to stick at low speeds, cleaning seems to help.

These camera take great shoots in full sun light at F16 of F22 and shutter speed 200
and remember to focus at infinity for the best depth of field. I like to use Kodak Tmax 400 and develop in D-76 at around 68 d for 8min's
but do some test for yourself and see what you get. Good Luck 6x9 cameras are lots of fun
you get that big neg's with lots of detail and contrast.

    I bought the same camera.
The seller told me he was not sure if it was working.
When i got it the focus ring was jammed, but that was quite an easy fix.
The bellow was as ney,i think it was hardly used, because it had a wooden spool inside.
The only anoying thing is that is an american model,so everything is in feet and i live in NL.

The focusing knob doesn’t change anything on the viewfinder for me. Is it broken or do I have to estimate the distance myself? I love the music by the way ;)

It's not linked - there's a separate rangefinder dial on the top, just to the right of the cold shoe.
