Hi Mark. That’s so kind of you to say. It’s great to share the music and the moments together. We are exactly the same as we are on camera which makes doing what we have done so much fun and rewarding. We look forward to our return hopefully at the end of the summer. The pitbull attack that Kel suffered and survived has absolutely turned our lives upside down. She just went through her second surgery for her shoulder and is still dealing with a whole host of issues from that dog mauling. Good thing she’s so tough! Thanks again for such a kind message. Keep rocking. We will do the same. Until we meet again… 💕KnR
I saw them in Toronto in the 80s and when they finished this song they received a standing ovation that went on for at least 5 minutes. They didn’t know what to do with it. They were so taken by surprise. Such a great tune. Thanks!
I've just turned 66 and they were the very first concert I had ever gone to. I think I was 16. The next concert I went to was the Doors. Also saw Janis, Canned Heat, Quicksilver Messenger Service and will never ever forget my Hendrix concert. It's been a great life of music for me.
I guess I'm the young one in the room at 63. Isn't it amazing the musical journey we've taken simply growing up, growing older and hopefully wiser, with the music we loved in our youth. About the only constant in life is our music. Our generation had the very best music. Even kids today are saying what a great time that seems to have been, and we assure them it was.
I haven't felt love like yours since my wife passed in 1994 missed it so much you two make me cry you are so in love. I'm 59 maybe I'll feel love again someday . Bless you two.
The passion you have for each other and the music is palpable and wonderful! ! Have loved the Moody Blues for decades! Please give Tuesday Afternoon and Question a listen
Thank you so much for saying that. We so appreciate you watching with us and loving the music. All the best to you. Have a super night wherever you are.
Literally couple goals. Hopefully I'll find my person. But until then, I'll just smile and watch these two lovebirds! Haha 😋! Much love and respect, from a maple syrup chugging, bearded, Canadian dude!
One of the greatest progressive rock bands ever. I grew up with this music. Some of the best music ever made was between 1965 - 1975. Emerson Lake and Palmer, King Crimson, The moody blues. Crosby Stills and Nash and PINK FLOYD.
Omg reminds me of being a teenager wow you really shocked me being you mentioned Woodbury Commons in Harriman i lived in Newburgh NY and I still go to Woodbury Commons ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤wow absolutely beautiful song i know live in new Paltz NY ty for sharing 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I cry nearly every time I hear this song. It's eerily beautiful. The flute just adds that little bit of renaissance sound that gives me chills. Whoever wrote it was definitely psychically connected to me. It is so one of my stories. I feel as if I could just die during the chorus. Thank you for reacting to the long play version!!!
This is one of best love songs ever written! If this doesn't make one's heart full, there is something wrong. That moment where you laid your head on Rich's shoulder was priceless! Then when the symphonic elements slid in, the joy was Awesome!
It was lovely watching you as you listened to Nights In White Satin. Totally appropriate. You gave me such a nice smile. I'm 70, and well remember when Days of Future Past came out. I played it so many times and know it all by heart. Delighted to see your response!
I first heard this on a very low-fidelity, battery powered, record player in 1967. It's been a favorite ever since. I saw them live in the '90's, with a full orchestra, on their Red Rocks tour. Kel's reaction brought tears to my eyes, just as the live experience did. The sonic wonderment can be overwhelming.
I just love Kel’s reaction! I’ve watched this video 8 times and her reaction never gets old! Love what you two are doing! You both have my most sincere appreciation! LOVE IT!
This is one of, if not the greatest father's day gifts I have ever received. When I was just a little kid in the 70's, my dad didn't like much music or entertainment, but he loved The Moody Blues, and his favorite song by a mile was Nights in White Satin. He had an 8-track tape player in his car, and the only tape he had or wanted was The Moody Blues Greatest Hits. We heard it over and over for years, and it never seemed to get old for him. He passed away twenty years ago last month, and seeing someone hear this song and enjoy it so much on Father's Day just brought back so many emotions for me. Thanks so much for posting this video!!!
Thanks for reacting to this masterpiece. One of the greatest,- maybe the greatest. I remember when this was first heard this in 1967 it was incredible, I wasn't ready for it. I'm 76 now, and still dig this music. How could I not? You two are great, thanks again
Btw, what Rich refers to as the "extended" or "full" version is wrong. The poem at the end (Breathe deep...) is actually a separate track called Late Lament. DJs started playing them paired together ages ago and it's just stuck in people's mind that it's one piece, but it's not.
@@failuremagnet You're right. Graeme Edge wrote poetry which they often included on their albums. On The Threshold Of A Dream features his poem "The Dream".........ruclips.net/video/oDLOP-zlBsU/видео.html
I wish people wouldn't post supposed "videos" from before the video era. This, for instance, is not a video produced in 1967-68 but something made by a fan that I think detracts from the song itself. The best reaction I've ever heard to this song was a radio deejay following it by just repeating, "Savor, savor, savor ..."
I'm in Niagara Falls NY ... I HAVE BEEN PLAYING LEAD GUITAR IN BANDS SINCE THE EARLY 90S. i never listened to Moody Blues. I was locked into my Metal Head state of mind. Thank you both for all you do . You have opened my eyes and ears ..
That is terrific @Jerry Radle. Good for you for being dedicated and walled off. Now you have every opportunity to experience lots of new stuff here. Thank you for being so honest and gracious. It's beautiful. Much love. KnR
Watching Kel's reaction makes me realiz how lucky I was growing up and listeningto all of this great music when it was new, Thanks you make it new again.
I've always loved this song. I played flute while in high school, and kept at it for a while when I graduated. I told myself I would learn the solo flute part of this song, and I did. Soooo long ago, but brings back very happy memories. I shut my eyes, and just soaked it up. Thanks for doing this masterpiece!
Grew up listening to this song. Old transistor radio, an ear piece, on WGR 55 in Buffalo NY would sign off every night at 11 PM. This song would play, then the Canadian and American anthems. Learned 3 songs that way
Yours is the best reaction to this song I’ve witnessed. To watch you two melt into one another as the music transported you to your own little magical moment in time was truly a beautiful thing to watch. I immediately subscribed to your channel and can’t wait to see more of your reactions. I’ve watched their Live From Red Rocks DVR many many times to relive the experience of having seen them live in concert at The Tarrant County Convention Center in Ft. Worth, Texas in the fall of 1973…. Exquisite!!! Thank you for sharing!!❤️❤️
You can prefer older music without insulting newer music, especially since it seems like you haven't heard a ton of newer music. There is plenty of good stuff out there, unless all you do is listen to the radio. I personally just love good music for its own sake, and I don't see the point in dividing it by genre (or the date it came out). But you do you...
The Moody Blues are still my favorite group of all time. The back up band for this album was the London Festival Orchestra, which is why the live recordings aren't the same. You really need to listen to the whole album.
I saw the Moody Blues in 1971. I saw them perform this song and others with Mike Pinder on his custom double keyboard Mellotron and a real double string quartet. When they did Nights in White Satin it was absolutely magnificent, majestic! We all had tears in our eyes afterwards. Nobody said a word all the way home. One of the very best concert moments in my life.
Old guy here. The Moody Blues were huge. In 1971 grade 11 Creative Writing class in high school, my teacher made The Moody Blues album "A Question of Balance" a class project essay worth 30% of the course credit. Yes the late 60's and early 70's were that cool, the music was that great and when you finished high school you had the equivalent of a current first year college level education. I still have a playlist called The Moody Blues Best 7 Albums. Each one is a concept album. Consecutively, from "Days of the Future Passed" to "Seventh Sojourn", there is not one bad song and many outstanding ones. You can't go wrong with any song from any of them.
I love The Moody Blues so thanks for reacting to them. They are way under-rated. Justin Hayward's voice is atmospheric, haunting, ethereal. Their sound is so distinctive. Beautiful. Next... Question!!!
Yes similar to my reaction when I first heard Nights in White Satin on radio Luxembourg in 1967 as a teen...Love that voice and the music is so enthralling like is that heaven and is that an angel singing....wow to that flute interlude....oh it sure is heaven...after that I bought the single....never really saw Justin Hayward until a few months later on TV...blinking heck it is an angel look at him...he looks as lovely as his voice....been hooked on the Moody Blues since.
so beautiful to see how you react on music we take for granted for many years and your hear it for the first time .... Love you folks ... keep up the good music ... warm greeting from the Netherlands in Europe, die hard music fan Willem

I JUST found you about half an hour ago, because I felt like listening to Camel "Lunar Sea" which I hadn't heard in a while. A REACTION video? - sure, why not?? I didn't even know such things existed (for music, that is...I'd seen reaction videos before for scary stuff). What a treat, and your love for each other just multiplies the experience. This was your second video that I watched...wow...it took me back to the first time I ever heard the long version on the radio. Fall 1972, my first "super-trip" on the road, 23 days which took me primarily to California (yes I'm old haha). I ONLY heard the short version in Ohio (when I lived in Toledo) and Michigan, and I only heard the long version west of the Rockies. Your video took me back to that first time hearing the long and perfect masterpiece version, enough that it brought out some tears, of the very best kind. I don't know how many videos you have, but I'll have to look for more. I'll have to think of some cool things to throw your way, too. Oh, I could introduce you to so much... I warn you that it's long, I think over 17 minutes, but let me throw one at you: TANGERINE DREAM "Phaedra" I still remember the first (of maybe seven) small parties in Cleveland that I went to during 1974 and 1975, and the VERY first album they played was ENO "Here Come The Warm Jets"...also the full Tangerine Dream album with that title cut, Fripp and Eno "No Pussyfooting" - Edgar Froese "Aqua" (again the title cut is to die for...though it's not MUSIC as such) and a few others. I never looked back. I was hooked on prog, psych, avant-garde from then on.

Thanks for the feedback. Only after posting this initial response, did I find a mention that duplicate requests would be ignored (and I guess both or all removed), so I don't know if this "counts" as one or not, as it wasn't done within the REQUEST parameters. There are some wonderful transitions in this long album cut, pretty much entirely synthesizer. I think I did suggest this to you for one of the Storm Trax, also before I saw the thing about duplicating requests, but again I'm still not sure if I've done anything that "counts" as a request or not...Very thankfully it turns out that you're pretty much out of harm's way - and maybe everybody is out of the path of maximum effect, which would be good.Your videos cover tracks that I don't know, too, so that will be fun as well.
After hearing this on your channel I have to recommend Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds. I'm sure you've already heard Forever Autumn, but the whole album is a classic.
@@Moilly2 Days of Future Past didn't come out until 67 - Freak Out was in 66, so more than "just" predates. But Blonde on Blonde came out about a week before Freak Out, so THAT is the first gatefold.

Without a shadow of a doubt, one of the greatest pieces of music to ever have been written in the 20th Century! (And I loved that Kel included "Silent Lucidity" among the this & "Stairway To Heaven" - that earned points with me!!) \m/
First, Rich, Happy Father's Day. It was a great pleasure to watch Kel as she took the journey through the mind of this wonderful piece of music. You can see how she was remembering the letters that she had written, "never meaning to send." As the poetry spoke of Love she was thinking of you Rich as she was reaching for your hand. Then just as she anticipated the end of the song only to be surprised by the journey of the mind as she listened to the final poem. Wonderful, just wonderful to watch and relive it through her eyes. :-)
First time I heard this album I was with a bunch of friends sitting around a table smoking pot, passing the joint around. Reminds me of good times with friends long gone. Being a teenager in the late 60’s-early 70’s was a good time to be young. I’ve always loved the Moody Blues.❤️❤️❤️

Thanks again for such a kind message. Keep rocking. We will do the same. Until we meet again…

I saw them in Toronto in the 80s and when they finished this song they received a standing ovation that went on for at least 5 minutes. They didn’t know what to do with it. They were so taken by surprise. Such a great tune. Thanks!
10,000 Likes, I grew up with this music, I'm 71 now.
Me too. I' d listen to it every night. Age 71!
Wait till you are 73.....
@@mazdamps 10 more years?? I don't know if I'll make it that far. Not that I'm doing anything to stop it.
Nothing like the Moody Blues! Simply in a world of their own! AMAZING!!!!
I would put Pink Floyd with them personally. Both of them have incredibly intricate music.
I haven't felt love like yours since my wife passed in 1994 missed it so much you two make me cry you are so in love. I'm 59 maybe I'll feel love again someday . Bless you two.
So sorry for your loss 😢😢😢😢😢😢
The passion you have for each other and the music is palpable and wonderful! ! Have loved the Moody Blues for decades! Please give Tuesday Afternoon and Question a listen
You're reaction says it all. You two rock. Keep holding hands and laughing. That will always get you through the hard times.
Thank you so much for saying that. We so appreciate you watching with us and loving the music. All the best to you. Have a super night wherever you are.
3:08 - 3:48 DAAAAAMN my chest got heavy and I teared up a little. That's true love right there. Life goals people. Life goals.
Literally couple goals. Hopefully I'll find my person. But until then, I'll just smile and watch these two lovebirds! Haha 😋! Much love and respect, from a maple syrup chugging, bearded, Canadian dude!
Hi from the UK, I’m glad Kel enjoyed it, it’s my mums favourite song
One of the greatest progressive rock bands ever. I grew up with this music. Some of the best music ever made was between 1965 - 1975. Emerson Lake and Palmer, King Crimson, The moody blues. Crosby Stills and Nash and PINK FLOYD.
Check the live concert At Royal Albert Hall. It is on RUclips.
Don’t forget Kansas.

@@Kel.N.RichReactionsty I'm watching again ❤❤❤❤
I cry nearly every time I hear this song. It's eerily beautiful. The flute just adds that little bit of renaissance sound that gives me chills. Whoever wrote it was definitely psychically connected to me. It is so one of my stories. I feel as if I could just die during the chorus. Thank you for reacting to the long play version!!!
Hey! I’m 71 and I had the first 3 albums when I was 16-17. I’m loving watching reactions to my favorite music! Thanks!
LOVE IT!
a legendary song, incredible Kel has never heard it, the song was also in movies 😎👍 nice reactions
@Celtic Revival / Adfywiad Celtaidd Oooh, good idea
I knew Kel would adore this, it has her written all over it.
At some point she should definitely listen to the whole thing.
How much better place the world would be if we all listened to the Moody Blues on a regular basis.
You guys have to listen to Jeff Wayne's War Of The Worlds. Richard Burton, Phil Lynot, Julie Covington, just an awesome musical experience.
It is an awsome album. I never tire of listening to it.
Justin Hayward is on that one also.
I agree. It is so atmospheric. I never tire of listening to it.
@@ValerieBoyco Get the cd!
One of the greatest albums of all time. I never tire of listening to it. I was in hospital in 1978 and I played it almost daily, for three months.
Thanks for reacting to this masterpiece. One of the greatest,- maybe the greatest. I remember when this was first heard this in 1967 it was incredible, I wasn't ready for it. I'm 76 now, and still dig this music. How could I not? You two are great, thanks again
The full album is a masterpiece. You need to review that
Tuesday Afternoon is a good song. But you're right, the whole concept hast be realized.
I love the poem at the end of knights in white satin
@@acca5512 That poem is called Late Lament.
That "video" is even computer-generated! They did not have that in 1967-68.
It's time for "house of the rising sun" if you haven't already. You guys are fun to watch
Much love. KnR
OMG, when Kel laid her head on your shoulder, I knew she was really feeling it...so refreshing, so sweet, so authentic.
Catherine Leeper-Krans thank you noticing and being with us. Much love. KnR
Watching Kel's reaction makes me realiz how lucky I was growing up and listeningto all of this great music when it was new, Thanks you make it new again.
Such a beautiful song! It will always be my favorite by the Moody Blues. 💕
Back in the day when REAL music would truly move you and take you to a whol;e new universe- without drugs.
They were literally on so many drugs back then what are you even talking about lmfaooooo. Also there is so much good music these days. Try harder.
@@revangerang drugs and music have gone hand in hand since the begining of time.
I think that maybe because the artist who gave you the music was using enough for the both of you 😅
@@jimsozrics there would be very little art music or visually if there was no mind enhancing devices
I love this song, chills, heard it on radio 2 days ago and thought about this reaction, had to watch you guys again..luv from from NY
Loved the reaction, especially Kel's. So much emotion from her without saying a word.
Nice job, y'all.
One of the greatest songs ever. Love your reaction to this great love song. Saw them twice back in the day and they did not disappoint.
Goddamn this song gives me chills up and down my spine everytime i hear it.
It did make me cry a few times, I've always gotten goosebumps and still do. Just so overwhelming.
Just recently found you guys. Wow! The way you two look at each other makes me melt. Beautiful couple; beautiful song.
The Moody Blues sound as good today as they did in their heyday.
I love The Moody Blues so thanks for reacting to them. They are way under-rated. Justin Hayward's voice is atmospheric, haunting, ethereal. Their sound is so distinctive. Beautiful.
Next... Question!!!
I had forgotten about the spoken narrative, but as soon as it started, it all came back to me.
"Hauntingly beautiful" gets tossed around a lot, but this earned it.
Classic. One of the best songs in the history of mankind. Great choice in sharing this one with Kel, Rich.
One of the best British bands of that era in my opinion
I'm 75years old this song still moves me as the first time I heard it 👍👍👍👍
I'm so happy you discovered them. They didn't make a few good songs. They made one great album after another. You just scratched the surface.
so beautiful to see how you react on music we take for granted for many years and your hear it for the first time .... Love you folks ... keep up the good music ... warm greeting from the Netherlands in Europe, die hard music fan Willem

On the Threshold of a Dream is my favorite by them. Great entire album. Powerful song!
I warn you that it's long, I think over 17 minutes, but let me throw one at you: TANGERINE DREAM "Phaedra"
I still remember the first (of maybe seven) small parties in Cleveland that I went to during 1974 and 1975, and the VERY first album they played was ENO "Here Come The Warm Jets"...also the full Tangerine Dream album with that title cut, Fripp and Eno "No Pussyfooting" - Edgar Froese "Aqua" (again the title cut is to die for...though it's not MUSIC as such) and a few others.

Love that album! Narration by Sir Richard Burton no less!
yes please do this !
Totally love this channel as it reminds me to listen again all my Vinyl, 8 track, cassettes and CDs, of which I have very many....x
Days of future passed - the first concept album in rock history?
Some may think that it was, I believe others did it prior.
It and Sgt Peppers Heart Club were the first, and about the same time. So choose your favorite :)
Nope!
Actually Freak Out! by Frank Zappa and The Mothers of Invention just about predates them. But if anything it was the first Gatefold album.
@@Moilly2 Days of Future Past didn't come out until 67 - Freak Out was in 66, so more than "just" predates. But Blonde on Blonde came out about a week before Freak Out, so THAT is the first gatefold.
Watching her sweet reaction to that classical 1967 piece of populate music made me smile all the way through this video! She loved it as much as the rest of us always have! Thank you for your wonderful reaction.
Justin Hayward, one of the best voices ever. So distinct that no one else has sounded like him.

Watching her reaction was worth it all day.
Takes me way back to the Isle of Wight festivals here in the UK in 1969/70. Sat with over half a million people from all over the world on a warm summers day and listening to this live , just amazing times
Respect @Jumpoff A. Thank you for that inspirational recounting of this reaction. Spot on. Much love. Rich

One of the best and authentic reactions on RUclips! Excellent that you played the full version. Keep on the Progressive Rock Train.....ELP (Pirates, Trilogy, Knifes Edge, Karn Evil 9, etc.)
"Tuesday Afternoon" was the intro song at "Red Rocks" after the fantastic build up by "The Colorado Symphony Orchestra"....

Posted on Father's Day is somehow proper, this was the first concert my dad took me to 25-30 years ago! And I'm so glad you posted the whole version! You're a reaction All-Star Kel!
Fun Fact, my mum went to school with Justin Hayward.
Let’s hear some color on that...
My favorite song from my favorite album of all time. This is the most beautiful classic rock song ever. The Moody Blues, like Jethro Tull, always make me happy. THANK YOU for doing the FULL studio version! This song is absolutely MAGICAL, and Kel's reaction is just like mine every time I hear this. It transports you to paradise. It simply NEVER gets old. So much emotion in this song...gets me every time...
Performed this live hundreds of times since my high school days, still my favorite slow dance ballad. Love to watch you two...brings back all the love :)
When making music was REALLY making music. This whole album is quite an experience. It must have sounded outstanding back in 1967 !!!
