Also hey people that explore deep in the description! I'm working on a way to get my merch online. Could take some time though. Looking at Late September. :O

I'm from the UK and my secondary school the more you went up in school years the more you disliked Sports days. The seniors would just laze around and not try very hard while the juniors were very competitive with each other. The seniors would hide from taking part in sports day and wish we just had a day of instead. It was interesting to see in our year who was lucky enough to get out of sports day or get out of choosing a team.

We even had Chariots of Fire playing at my primary school as we walked onto the field and everyone would slow-mo walk. I think my school was more chill than most on sports day but that's coming from a Nightingale (the house that always won on sports day). I hated most of it apart from the hurdles (which were fun), the standing long jump (which I was marginally better at than most) and the sack race (which I was bloody fantastic at! I always won.)

I was so confused because my school called it field day and we didn't have teams or houses or points because parents didn't want the kids to feel bad if they lost, there were no sports just cheap little games like bean bag toss, also it ended after fifth grade.

In my area of America, we call it Field Day. In ours, our homerooms got split in two, so you were just going against your homeroom. We did the usual games like tug o‘ war, space walk races, kick ball, wall ball, wheel barrel relay, and many more. We usually ended the day by heading back up to our classes and watching a movie. A lot of people got checked out after, so there were usually 5-15 people after.

Up here in Minnesota, we had Field day in elementary school and you would go outside for basically extended recess but not the whole day and there were bounce houses and races and hurdles and the playground and stuff. At the end you got a snowcone, then you had to go back inside and do math or whatever. I moved in 6th grade to a new district(where 6th was still elementary school and not middle/jr high), and that district didn't do anything at all except for a big "walkathon" around the high schools track for no reason.

Our field day was like a day of activities/stations you got to and do once each. There was climbing the ropes and net in the gym & some ropes to swing on. There was a bubbles station, I think maybe some kinda weird race station like maybe a crab walk or something. The best station was the parachute one or whatever, where they have that big circular rainbow cloth/sheet thing you shake around and throw balls ontop of and stuff. And at the end of the day I think we just hung out on the middle school's track(it bordered our elementary school's field). There might've been an optional relay race on there but I don't remember that well.

we called it field day or at my elementary school, "buddy field day." You had to partner up with another person and they gave you a card to staple on your back with a list of games. Every time you completed an activity someone would hole-punch the thing on the list. I hated it bc i didn't have many friends in my glasses and wasn't very fit either. We didn't have teams and it wasn't competitive at all, like Evan said it was like an extended recess. I hated field day from my experience haha.

The Red and Blue were like the really competitive teams , the yellows were sort of competition and the greens were like the hufflepuffs (I was in Green💚) as they were really soft and never won. Whichever team one the sports day cup would have their team colour engraved into this trophie with all the other previous winners.

Okay in primary school it was fun
In my secondary school on sports day like every one in each form have to do something (unless you get out of it,)
And small things will be done during PE lessons and on actual sports days everyone will go out on one of the school fields and music will play through speakers and teachers will commentate and it would be sooooo hot sometimes but if you didn't do any races (races happened on sports day) you'd just chill for like an hour and there was a tuck shop filled with sweets
    But it's so scarily competitive

Aussie here. Never had a sports day in high school (or I played sick to get out of it and have just blocked it from my memory) but it was an annual thing in primary school that absolutely traumatised me until the last couple of years when Mum would finally let me call in sick that day. I had undiagnosed Autism and it brought with it a variety of other undiagnosed issues like extremely poor speed and co-ordination, sensory issues, etc. While mentally, I was assessed to be within the top 5% of my age group, physical skills wise, I was within the bottom 5%. The sports day in grade 4 or 5 (I don't remember which year it was), the school decided that I needed a boost in my confidence so they insisted I race with the preschoolers, who they were sure I would be able to beat. In front of a huge crowd of all the teachers and staff, fellow students, their families, etc. I was halfway down the 100m track by the time the last preschooler crossed the finish line. Everyone laughed. I wanted to stop but they insisted I at least finish. I was slow and people were still laughing at me so they made me get off the track (so the next race could start), walk alongside the track and collect my participation ribbon at the finish line. Even my day care mum (think babysitter but at her house rather than mine), who I was very close with and cared deeply for, couldn't help laughing. I cried so hard and I don't think I went to another sports day after that. So much for a confidence boost.

You pick things like 400m 800m 1500m 3000m long jump triple jump disk throw high jump javeline throw etc. Starting gr 7 if you place top two you can go to districts. Starting gr 9 if you place top two you can go to provincials if you do good in districts. You’re separated by your age. If you’re really good you can go all the way up to national for your event and age. You also get ribbons if you place first second or third at school.

We have Athletics day at my school where we go to a large track field and we do running, shotputt, high jump, and long jump. So it's pretty much just the olympics at school. It's horrendous and I hate it. We can all get points for our houses. Theres points just for coming and then points for how well we do. At my high school our houses and really long Maori names because I'm in NZ and the colours are Yellow, Purple, Blue, and Orange. I'm yellow house.

In primary we had house colours also but there were places for example Colwick (Blue), Ruddington (Purple), Sherwood (Green) and Wollaton (Red)
