That's not bragging, it's pride!! It's not even vain pride... it's the justified pride that is felt when someone faces adversity and through hard work and ingenuity crafts it into opportunity. Be proud... be very proud!
I really liked what you said about people asking "What if...?" The only realistic answer is, "I'll fix it." It's funny that people don't already know that. I think a lot of people lose perspective when watching videos like this. You are building things on your land, your way, and making them a work of art every bit as much as they are functional buildings. You are not doing commercial jobs that you want to get done and paid as quickly as possible. The buildings you build do not have a warranty that you are trying to avoid having to honor at all costs. You sometimes do things for the first time, you experiment with new ideas, and you sometimes run into unforeseen issues. I want to give you huge thumbs up for your style and the way you deal with those issues! Great work!
I remember when all you had “built” in your lands was a car tire cemetery and I thought, this is never gonna work. And here I am now, I don’t even remember how many years later, and can’t wait to see what this is gonna become in a few years more. Just amazing, you’ve taught me a lot about hard work and it’s rewards.
Thinking the same thing. Tyres.? No way.!! look at it now. I was learning how to make e-boards when I came across this channel.. Learnt waay more than I ever expected.. Cheers to Chris.
😂 yeah, I was thinking what’s this kid up to know then... car tires... omg! Don’t think I had the vision and belief Chris had but he’s made me a believer. 👍🏻
Thats my feeling as well, been following him since then, and i cant believe how everything is just one little job done, one at a time. And his mentality about "i'll fix it" if there are any issues.
You are the first person I’ve scene to have all the natural resources to really be able to live off grid the way you built your home and buildings. Seams like the hydro turbine will provide the constant electricity
Scorheig.org Hugh Piggot from Scotland great wind turbine information books all the math that you like really enjoy your engineering brilliant work !!!
Kris you are in no way bragging, you deserve to take a minute and look back with pride on all your achievements so far. You're smashing it mate, always loved the channel and it just keeps getting better and better. Amazing life you've built for yourself mate, you should be justly proud :)
Great job, Kris and great attitude at the end. I wonder how many young men you have inspired to stop wasting their lives and follow your example. I hope it's lots. I know a lack of money is a big issue for most to be able to take on this size of a project but your work ethic and commitment to your dream is inspiring in itself. I wish you every success,,,, and better weather. Lol
I’m just so impressed with everything that you do and the effort that you put in mostly by yourself. And look at what you have achieved it’s amazing. Again thanks for sharing your journey.
Chris you did such a good job. Your videos always show all the hard work you do and usually do it by yourself. Chris with regards to you operating the track backhoe , you did a great job. I have worked on construction operating machines like that for many years. There are two things that matter. 1) no body got hurt and 2) nothing got damaged in the process. So it was a 100 percent success. By the way I agree with you also I like rock so much better than mud.
I love your attitude and outlook on life. "I'll fix it". Don't let any negative people or comments ever change you!! And the end of video view of the door, windows and railings are soooooo beautiful. You SHOULD be proud. Best wishes from Oklahoma USA.
I'd like to take a moment to appreciate the cinematography here! Lots of nice angles so we can clearly see what is going on. I think people often overlook how much thought goes into that sort of thing.
Thank you, that means alot. im not a pro at it but i do try and it does indeed take time. The hardest part is trying to work out what your doing and work out how to capture it at the same time.
Kris - Second the comments by Areo Hotah. Your editing has improved from okay to good and now to excellent and artistic. Congratulations on mastering still another skill.
I second that as well. Great video editing. I love the close ups of the joinery work. Many professionals wouldn't even think of these little details. You may not realize it but you are a great teacher, among your other skills. You have been blessed by God. Always have gratitude in everything, Kris. I know you do but it's a good reminder for others.
i think the biggest thing you can take from RUclips is the mass of love for for everything you do - that results in your motivation which is 100% faultless and i for one am amazed - living off the land is never easy and your videos show that massive learning curve - and i will add to that, its a backward learning curve because we humans have done it for centuries, but we have become lazy and advanced to an easier way of living, and i am sure it will come to a sticky end, we need to change and this perhaps will be that change, i can see a surge of buying up land in order to survive, its going to get tough and i'm sure there will be further problems in current society, news of damage to the economy and oil prices, to coin an old 'Dads Army' phrase, we're doooomed!!!
Kris, you work so hard, it's inspiring. No bragging, just pride in that hard work and it looks bloody beautiful, well done dude! Here's to spring, think we could all use a bit of better weather!
The positive side is that in spite of the severe storms and flooding that many parts of the UK have suffered, you and your buildings have weathered it all so a big well done in your initial plan and building todate.
Wow! You have every right to brag! Well done you. Fabulous. Really enjoying your shows. Only found you a couple of days ago. I am agog at how much you have achieved. Well done ! Well done! Can't praise you enough. You are a little brave heart! Very skilled. Fabulous stuff. Thank you for showing us. Be very proud of yourself! I feel proud of you and I don't even know you. Keep at it! Living the dream! BIG LOVE! 💚
There is always someone in Life that will give their point of view. I listen and take some of the advice while mostly saying thank you and discarding it in my mind. It is your Dream and Your personal Artful creation of your spirit. You have worked hard, researched, experimented, failed, came up with a fix to your satisfaction. Sometimes what some may call bragging, is just uncontrollable joy in realizing what was a dream actually turned out better than planned and you are talking to yourself saying..."Damn I did that! It's Beautiful!"
I think it looks amazing. It's wonderful what all you all have done. Your skills in so many different things has given you all you need to do this. Just the knowledge of how to use tools properly gives you alot. The engineering, electrical, water, envirermental, and everything else you have used and continue to use are skills that serve you well. Few could do as well as you have done. It IS amazing!
You may not be a professional equipment handler, but (a) you treated that digger with respect and (b) you bloody well got the job done. Nothing to criticise, mate. Good job!
Every artist enjoys the work they do. They stand back and admire the canvas. You are an artist and you should stand back and enjoy your beautiful creation. I'm new to your channel so I'm still catching up but I have enjoyed watching you create.
Dear Kris Great to see you are moving on and responding to situations as they arise. You are very creative and have to be commended for your vision. Could you do an update on your future plans; upper workshop, house etc I recall some models but forget exactly the plan. I think many people who watch you, live our dreams through you, so are definitely rooting for your success in all your endeavours. God bless you
Such a gorgeous book - each shed is unique and inspiring, and I love all the tiny details Kotite features to help readers imagine how to create their own She Sheds ruclips.net/user/postUgkxe9yi0sulKgsp0VJJCIrLWWkvVqcU7LFR . The feature on Dinah's Rustic Retreat is like something from a fairy tale. It's really inspiring to see how creative all these ordinary people are in making beautiful and useful spaces on a modest scale.
Your place just keeps getting better and better. That gravel made a huge difference. A couple of years time and the workroom will look as though it's just grown out of the side of a hill. By then you might put some wildflower seeds scattered around too. And be proud of yourself - you obviously had a vision that you are making come real!!!
Kris the workshop looks amazing, it seems crazy that people are asking "what if" questions to you of all people, when you have not only made everything on the property with your own 2 hands from random stuff you have made it look beautiful at the same time, that is talent.
You had a problem and you fixed it, well done, no one can foretell how underground water will run you have now stopped the problem. And by the way no one is born with a skill so as far as using an excavator goes you do a reasonable job, one thing I will say is there is no half measures in this build. Young have given yourself the luxury of deciding how and when each part of your house workshops and all buildings are done, keep up the good work and great videos
The view from the front with the stone in place is quite simply stunning. WIth the posts coloured similiar to the door frame it will be even stunninger IMO. Congratulations on all the hard work paying off. Thanks for sharing it with us. And, yeah, when you've got another couple of hundred hours spare, framing the main door similar to the side door will be well worth aesthetic effort. Thanks.
Massive improvement! So glad you can get at the heart of that dampness issue. Was worried it would compromise the entire structure. You are tenacious at getting down to getting things done! Time for a well deserved rest! You've created something very special and unique--truly beautiful as well as practical.
I'm always excited to see the next update on your workshop, I have been subscribed since before you finished the round house and have been watching ever since.
Always look forward to your 6am uploads😅 saw it and went "yes!" Quietly of course. Another thing, I know you don't but dont worry about people talkin smack, I don't think many of them could do what you've done in these videos
Just a thought, some of your viewers know next to nothing about construction. I didn't until I volunteered for a charity house building group (Habitat for Humanity), and they give me the intro brief -- basically construction is about improvising. Things won't fit, things have to be cut or lengthened or glued together or whatever, and it's important that the group leader (not us!) decide those things. We got it done! I learned that i'm decent at pounding in posts with a sledgehammer! So anyways, maybe you could just mention at some point how improvisation is key at each stage of the process, and that includes conditions like excessive rain or mud at the construction site. Your workshop looks amazing. I'm getting excited right along with you buddy!
Hope you are feeling much better and all will be well with the wall. x Re the flow of rain water... maybe plant some willow, but keep it as hedging rather than let it grow to full height ( so roots don't interfere as much. Williw loves water and will help soak up the dampness of the Earth... just a thought. xx
I love your mental resiliency. You took what could have been viewed as a bad outcome and turned it into an opportunity to make the workshop even better. It's looking great and now I'm excited to see the wind turbine! Maybe you should put a bench where you were sitting at 20:00. It's a great view.
Enjoy your channel as always and just wanted to say I have ran my families 60+ year old construction business with my father for over 25 years now and would love to employ someone that uses the common sense and dedication you do to overcome problems/issues. Yes there are codes in our industry that we have to follow, because we are building for someone else and its meant to protect people from shysters. However you are building for yourself and I love to see your inventive artistic style.
Good job, Kris, it's all coming together really nicely. Once the grass starts growing on the verges around the gravel it'll be very picturesque. Intrigued by the wind turbine, blades looking rather nice there in the workshop, can't wait for the next episode! Between that, the hydro and the solar you should be golden for leccy 👍👍
I think the shop pictures you took at the end of the video are awesome and very different from what you normally see but you always do incredible work as far as I'm concerned. Can't wait till the weather breaks so you can put more videos out !!!!
Such fine work! You definatly work hard, most people shy away from hard work and never get skilled. You sir are fine tuning your skill :-). Thanks for sharing.
Kris this is truly amazing. Haven‘t checked in for a while, and what do you know, the workshop is done. I think as a society we‘ve almost forgotten what we can achieve by being persistent and working with our own two hands. Hope some teenagers see this and realize that Instagram isn‘t real. This is real.
I have watched every one of your videos and you continue to amaze. You are a great example of imagination, hard work and perseverance. Great inspiration.
Watching you work ... makes me miss having my own property to work on ... all good days while it lasted. Thanks for sharing. Job well done! Love the door area.
Don't worry I would say you have plenty of bragging rights! Very impressive. And the videos are quite enjoyable, love the honesty and all the learning. Thanks, a
2 things Chris. I live near you and I drive diggers for a living, working on bank stabilisation and river restoration, so if you ever need weekend digger work done gimme a shout and I’ll help out. Secondly, the hessian for soul stability is what we use (NAG) it can take rivers flooding it. So you should be fine with that. Good shout
Watching you lay tyres on the ground then proceed to build the "round house" was amazing.. The "work shop" is just "awesome" and only gets better.. It only gets better.. Cheers Chris..
Kris you are right, your build is beautiful! Like you said if a problem may arise you will find the solution and fix it. I love your videos and am so happy for you and the progress your hard work has produced.
Howdy Kris! You are so multi-talented! Ignore the na-sayers who criticize your efforts, it's easy to criticize from an armchair. When it comes to doing the actual work, where are they? You rock Dude! Keep up the great work! Hugs!
Sorry you had all that damage, it was a seriously bad weather situation for many people. Looks like you'll have a better long-term solution now. Fantastic to watch the projects you undertake and the progress you've made with your property.
Well done Kris you got stuck in and fixed your problem. Sometimes it's the only way, all looking good with the gravel. I've just built a 220 mtr road on what was grass to get to our Wood. It sure was great when the last load had been put down.
And you should brag! That's one beautiful building, nay, edifice (!). And of course things will happen and will have to be fixed. Such is the process of living a life. Thank you for your thoughtful and well-made videos.
It's a sad day. I just got fully caught up with your earthbag play list. The workshop looks amazing! You should be very proud of your work. I like your attitude too. If it breaks, fix it.
You have an incredible work ethic. I expect when you handed in your notice at work your old employer had a massive case of heartburn - he’d have to employ several people to make up for the loss of one such as you.
From a person that slogs on in a cubicle, I want to say thanks for sharing your journey man. Actually I would love to see a 1-2 minute segment at the end of your videos that is just natural shots of the place from various angles with the natural sounds. Not long, but would round out your videos and give all of us a chance to really soak up the views as the place changes. It really is amazing how many things you have added from that first video when I found you and you were laying down tires to build the round house... Great job.
I am so happy for you. You deserve it my friend. Fantastic job. Hard work paying off. Plus I love your attitude. If it happens I'll just fix it. That is how it should be.
“Every time I drive a digger people tell me I’m doing it wrong” 😂 Your digging is absolutely fine mate! It’s RUclips though everything you do there’ll be someone telling you what’s wrong. It’s why I’m so impressed with you for putting your content out there
Can just see you this summer, sitting out on your patio bit with a large cider. Stick some still pics in with your vids, always enjoy when other u tubers do that. Great job as usual pal.
I've learned quite a bit from your videos and ive also learned you're quite a skilled craftsman and a joy to watch. It reference to your digger skills... I run diggers too. Just know, it's doenst matter how it gets done...just matters that it gets done. You're doin just fine on that digger sir.
Hi Kris, Dot, Snoop, hope you are all well. Now Kris, you're doing it all WRONG!! Hahahaha! Sorry, couldn't resist that. Always wanted to have a go in a JCB but never happened, but you did a super job here. I'm sitting watching the end of the video, the view of the roof timbers and joists, ,,,and thinking this was just a picture in your head not that long ago, and look what you've done now. Wow! Awesome work as usual. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe and keep up the good work. 👍🖖😎😺🐔
Going to be Spring very soon and you're ready to crack on Kris. Slow and methodical with the digger you did well. Love seeing the completed look at the end of the video great work. I'm really looking forward to seeing the wind turbine build... sneak peek got me intrigued.
Dear Kris Harbour. 👍👌👏 Great job! Very well done again! Looks really nice! Congrats! Thanks a lot for making recording editing uploading and sharing. Best regards luck health and wisdom. Postscriptum: LOL Only people dealing with mud can become/get so exited about gravel. ;-) :-)
Great stuff water as you know can be a problem, you should put in a pipe drain at the back wall. Dig it a little bit deeper put in dranaige pipe and put some stone over it to take any line water away. This will protect the wall better. Good work looking awesome keep the vids coming 👍🙂
Looking great actually bloody brilliant ...nowt wrong with blowing your own trumpet, like you say if abit needs tweaking just get on with it job done and another great video thanks for filming it🍻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
You SHOUKD be proud of the fixes you make as you go along ... This isn’t a stick house that everyone else builds, this is a totally imaginative building (s) that you are making work. Like you said, if something happens, you’ll fix it. Naysayers may be just trying to help. When I sense a comment is going “south”, I just skip over it, they aren’t there doing the build by themselves like you are. Always a pleasure to watch your videos and how you work around obstacles. (But I will, admit the water turbine thing is so far over my head, I just play them and walk away because I don’t understand it, lol)
I am new to this channel and extremely impressed at what you are achieving and not only that but I understand the reasons why, one thing that struck me was I couldn't help thinking you looked tired! Maybe it's just the early mornings.
You go ahead and brag! Few people who deserve it more-. Economical, environmental, useful AND aesthetically pleasing, you have bragging rights.
“I’ll fix it.” That’s a defining statement. It lends itself to your lifestyle and your commitment to it. Truly great work man.
Hear, hear!
Yesss! Absolutely 🙌
That's not bragging, it's pride!! It's not even vain pride... it's the justified pride that is felt when someone faces adversity and through hard work and ingenuity crafts it into opportunity. Be proud... be very proud!
Impressed by how much you get done and on your own most of the time. AND filming it at the same time. Love your videos. Keep up the fantastic work!
"I'll fix it" is the kinda attitude i love

I think the shop pictures you took at the end of the video are awesome and very different from what you normally see but you always do incredible work as far as I'm concerned. Can't wait till the weather breaks so you can put more videos out !!!!
Well done it looks amazing and will look different from every angle, no not bragging just you sharing your joy and pride👍🏻👏🏴
Loved the bit at the end showing those nice lines - great work!
Such fine work! You definatly work hard, most people shy away from hard work and never get skilled. You sir are fine tuning your skill :-). Thanks for sharing.
Well done on overcoming the problem, it’s been really wet and stormy this year. Looking good.
Your an artist mate. Well done with everything you have built, a true craftsman
Your videos are very relaxing to watch after a hard days work
I have watched every one of your videos and you continue to amaze. You are a great example of imagination, hard work and perseverance. Great inspiration.
This was a really good video. A lot of progress was made and we all learned from an unfortunate event.
Thanks,
a
2 things Chris. Good shout
Soil stability***
Adapt, overcome and improvise. Turning a disaster into an improvement, love it! 👍
Brag away.👍🏻 Don't worry you're doing what most of us dream of and you're working hard for it.👌🏻👍🏻
Watching you lay tyres on the ground then proceed to build the "round house" was amazing.. The "work shop" is just "awesome" and only gets better.. It only gets better.. Cheers Chris..
Kris you are right, your build is beautiful! Like you said if a problem may arise you will find the solution and fix it. I love your videos and am so happy for you and the progress your hard work has produced.
Great work Kris! Making drains and spreading gravel have always been fun activities.
It’s not how you screw up that matters ! It’s how you fix it that counts! Well done from the USA.
Beyond amazing the progress you have made on the work shop you are a true master of everything you try.
I have enjoyed watching from the beginning when you started with nothing, you have accomplished amazing things for a young man.
Well done Kris you got stuck in and fixed your problem. Sometimes it's the only way, all looking good with the gravel. I've just built a 220 mtr road on what was grass to get to our Wood. It sure was great when the last load had been put down.
I’m inspired by your consistently positive and future looking attitude. ✨
And you should brag! That's one beautiful building, nay, edifice (!). And of course things will happen and will have to be fixed. Such is the process of living a life. Thank you for your thoughtful and well-made videos.
You have every right to brag about what you've done. It's magnificent.
Good man, always a great attitude. I love the "just handle things and get them done " way of thinking. The shop and outside are looking amazing Kris!
I so love your strong work ethics and the can do attitude. Good luck you deserve it.
Great job.
runningray - Plus inclusion of the chickens in most videos!
I am so happy for you. You deserve it my friend. Fantastic job. Hard work paying off. Plus I love your attitude. If it happens I'll just fix it. That is how it should be.
“Every time I drive a digger people tell me I’m doing it wrong” 😂
Your digging is absolutely fine mate!
It’s RUclips though everything you do there’ll be someone telling you what’s wrong. It’s why I’m so impressed with you for putting your content out there
Amazing! And yes, absolutely worth bragging over! You've well earned those bragging rights!
Awesome to share your life, thanks again.
Keep being proud dude!
Thanks for posting and sharing your episode. Glad to hear the wall dampness was addressed expeditiously!
Brag away brother, this is all so amazing, really admire what you have done here!
It's amazing seeing it go from a model to where you are now. Great stuff.
Postscriptum: LOL Only people dealing with mud can become/get so exited about gravel. ;-) :-)
Good fix! It would be nice to see how your forest is coming along. 350quid is $450 in Florida. Thanks for sharing.
Fantastic job, as usual. I'd use the workshop as a house to be honest! Thanks for the positive attitude. It helps.
Great stuff water as you know can be a problem, you should put in a pipe drain at the back wall. Dig it a little bit deeper put in dranaige pipe and put some stone over it to take any line water away. This will protect the wall better. Good work looking awesome keep the vids coming 👍🙂
Looking great actually bloody brilliant ...nowt wrong with blowing your own trumpet, like you say if abit needs tweaking just get on with it job done and another great video thanks for filming it🍻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
If I built what you have, I'd brag about it all the time. You've done a great job!
Unique and creative. Thanks for sharing.
Live roof on the workshop is looking great. Looks like the sod took nicely to its new home.
Awesome video! Cool that you’re willing to show mistakes, and how you fix them-we all make them. Loved watching your videos since the roundhouse days
The gravel makes all the different. Job well done. You fixed it!! Thank you for taking us along on your build.
