The loneliest a person can ever feel is often around other people. Being alone is a wonderful luxury to anyone who is self reliant and enjoys their own company. Many people need to be around others due to fear and insecurity imo.

Anyone working in EMS/Pre and Post emergency room, I think, develops some form of PTSD. I worked the ER/EMS for 22 years as well as ICU and the Recovery Room as an RN. I am retired now but there are still images and events I will take with me to my grave. People don’t realize how much you give of yourself to be able to take care of others. Truly a labor of love. Would I do it over again? Absolutely!
Retired nurse here too with a very similar work history. There are patients I still carry in my heart that I vividly remember. You know you can't save everyone , but that doesn't stop you from wishing you could. I loved what I did and would do it again, as well. Loved working with the police, EMT'S and Paramedics whose actions in the field gave life back to so many.
Max. This episode was so heart warming and so.. healing in a way i wasn't expecting. I followed you and Lee, and her passing was so hard even for me as just a viewer. Listening to what you say, how you have grown and tackle life is so comforting, vitalising and hopeful. So many wise answers to tough questions, i strongly believe that you are where you are supposed to be, and i hope you and Occy will have several more years with each other still. By the way, the place you filmed this in, that is a place where i see you build your home. Bless you Max, you are such an inspiration and a person with a golden heart.

Yes no doubt, that made me tear up, having lost the love of my 18 months ago, and my Dog 11 months ago, but I did get my 5th rescue dog a few months after losing my last fella, I hope they will all be there to greet me when my time comes.

I live on my own with 2 cats and I really enjoy it. Some family and friends think I'm lonely but I'm far from it. I have low times but they don't last very long. Glad you are in a good place and can't wait to see what you do next. Xx

You will never regret all the extra time you're spending with Occy. The pandemic and converting to a work from home setup allowed me to spend my two cats' golden years with them and it was such a special time. They're gone now, but I have so many extra memories that I wouldn't have had otherwise. Of course I wish there wasn't a pandemic, but when there's opportunity to take some good with the bad, take all the good you can get. Also, even though the Occster doesn't like cats I still think he's swell. :)

Grief is yourself with a baseball bat, and a daily clubbing. Lost my mom 7 years ago; I visit her grave once a month w/ my 93yo dad. I still cry every time. And I still cry when Lee's name comes up; the senseless loss of it all. Max- wishing you and Occy PEACE, and quiet from the storm we call Life. SAFE travels.

Max, I started watching you after Lee's passing but get a pang in my heart when I hear you say her name. I know the depths of deep depression and have been to the point of wanting to leave this world. Luckily due to treatment I have not been there in a quite a while. You are an amazing person and am glad you are happy where you are in life. Occy is an amazing dog and I love seeing the two of you together ❣🐾🐾

This was the best Q&A I have ever watched! So authentic. I try to live by the saying "Life is what happens when you are making other plans." It is so true. There is only so much in life we can control, and I feel like you have learned to embrace that. We have two mini Aussies, they are the best dogs. Occy seems so calm for an Aussie, was he crazy as a puppy? Loved the puppy videos. Thanks for making Sundays just a little better with your videos, love the scenery and the gentle pace of the videos.

Child free by choice (it’s great), late 40s and I’ve just taken an adult gap year to travel. It’s been awesome.
New dad here, don't rush anything kids are a huge responsibility and you want a partner that has the same goals as you. My wife and I took 12 years before we married we didn't really want to rush, at the end of the day I'm glad we got married but also our life being situated was more important especially since we're not very religious.

Stick with dogs. I'm 65 and never wanted kids. I wanted dogs. I'm now retired from 40+ years of grooming and showing my breed, Giant Schnauzers. I also had Arabian horses, cats and 167 chickens, geese, guineas, turkey, ducks and a Blue & Gold macaw. I lost my wonderful husband to ALS in the first Covid lockdown in April 2020. It was horribly devastating. I lost everything and had to start over. I got a used 34' motorhome. Ripped everything out. Redid it so my 4 dogs and cat could move in full time. We lived in it for 2 years until I bought a 16' x 40' shed to build into my tiny cabin, which I currently live in. It's not finished inside at all, lol. I have cedar on the walls and bead board but ceiling isn't done. Kitchen not built. I have toilet and vanity plumbed in so have running water inside and out. I'll get it done eventually. I sold my rig and bought a 20' 4 window short skoolie too. I'll finish her out then I'm traveling again.
Thanks for being so honest Max, I only came to this channel in the summer (UK) when you visited the Vanwives so had no idea what you've been through. Personally, I have been dealing with depression for 15 years ( since being diagnosed so probably much longer), getting out in nature when I can really helps my state of mind, and if this comment helps even one person to deal with one day a little easier I'll be happy. (and I've never mentioned my depression on the internet before so Thank You!!)

I had to medically retire from being an EMT and I thought my world was over, I hit such a depression. I loved doing it I very rarely felt like I was working.
I love friends!!! You just earned even more cool points! I have two pups. One is named Max (Australia cattle dog mix) and the other is Cocoa (toy fox terrier mix)
They both say hi to Occy! Well maybe not cocoa as she is rude and doesn’t like dogs. She says hi to you! People are her favorite!

She was so honest about the ups and downs she went through. I was happy watching you two together on your channel, and I was happy watching you two continue to grown and change on your own channels. Really enjoy the realness of your videos. My husband has been a paramedic in Texas for 25 years and my son is an EMT, in medic school currently. It takes a special person to handle those stresses and still live each day to the fullest. Thank you for all you do.
