This figure looks far skinnier than the new normal goku they just showed off so I don't know why anyone would continue to complain. Also great video, congrats on 3000!

The skinny arms do a pretty good job conveying his thin frame, and anyway Yuya Takahashi's drawings of SSG Goku in the episode he animated recently was more buff than usual, so this is pretty accurate to that.
Can we start a conversation with regards to S.H. Figuarts constant reengineering of their joints? It seems odd to me that they keep releasing figures with different engineering choices for joints rather than experimenting prior to the figures release. I've also noticed certain figures (mostly within the Naruto line) that lack beneficial articulation (like bicep swivels) when it's been executed well in previous figures and/or figures within other series. This isn't to say every figure should have the same type of articulation, (obviously sculpt and body type limitations must be considered) but the inconsistency with rather simple and necessary points of articulation given the price point is a nuisance to say the least.
I actually picked up this figure as I went out of buying figuarts missed SSGS Goku and wanted to grab one before the scalpers took them so picked this up on a whim.
I utterly LOVE the golden yellow gi with it's added symbols, I find it very pleasing to the eyes along with the magenta/cherry/pinkish red of the hair. Just a lovely colour combination plus he's nice and unique on my shelf as no other figuart has/will have this form.

Super Saiyan God Goku is skinny like that in Battle of Gods, DBS (Battle of Gods retcon), as during the tournament of power. Also, when Vegeta goes Super Saiyan God in the manga, he's that skinny.

Thanks for reviewing him. Also in the latest episodes of Dragon ball super Goku, in this form is not skinny like he was when he first transformed in battle of Gods. It's almost like the animators for the show forgot he's supposed to be skinny in the first place because if you check the images from the latest episodes of dbs and compare them to battle of Gods Goku is now big and muscular he's not skinny in this form anymore like he was in the movie. I guess you could say it's accurate to dragon ball super but then again people are probably going to say it's not accurate since the packaging say's "Dragon Ball Z". Anyways great review. :)

A little off topic but did you see the new figuarts Frieza?
The pics I saw had little to no shading. I guess this is subject to change but I wanted another opinion on the early pics.
eh. hard to say. the first one was overly shaded. the newest goku had good shading. the new vegeta had none. all we can do is hope the new frieza is somewhere in the middle. the proto isnt a good indication of the final product necessarily so dont worry too much about it.
Yeah I'm hoping its just proto too. That Vegeta got me nervous about every new release.

Everyone saying he wasn't as skinny in the tournament of power is wrong. He is just as skinny than in Battle of Gods. And theres no excuse when the first base form Goku figures has a slimmer waist than this new one. They most likely used existing molds for most of the parts and only slightly modified them to save money. Lazy.
i like the hair of this goku. but if they use this metallic/glossy like hair on the super saiyan hair, i wouldnt like it.

These figures are not out long before they are sold out and the prices skyrocket. Nice that these figures hold value but terrible if you missed out on it and have to either find one for an insane price or hope for another release to happen. Missed this figure and now its double the value it used to be, moral of the story is to pre-order any new figures cause it might be just like the new goku black that's currently $120 to $150 even though it just came out.

SSG Goku is definitely supposed to be skinnier than normal. It's not just based on what he looks like; they literally say in both the movie and in the show that he got skinnier when he transformed. And you can definitely see it. His physique became more similar to Beerus' when he became SSG. If we're talking about what's canon or not, I'm going to go with the words written in the screenplay rather than trying to eyeball a bunch of inconsistent and always-changing illustrations and designs.
okay but this is a representation of said inconsistent and always changing illustrations and designs, and frankly, it doesn't matter what they say in the movie, he looked the exact same the whole time, so it doesn't really matter, especially since this form shows up for like 5 seconds in the whole franchise anyway

aren't these arms skinnier than the rest of them? not as skinny as the original figure but im pretty sure this guy has the skinniest arms next to previous goku's if im not mistaken
idk. im not comparing it to previous releases since we're getting a new standard goku of this same style. to compare it to previous releases wont really tell us much since everything is different across the styles. take vegeta for example. totally different sizing even though its not really meant to be different canonically.
yeah i was disappointed that the new scouter Vegeta was the same size as the ssj Vegeta but in all fairness his height jump didn't really make sense in the show anyway lol but that makes sense, i love the look and pricing for the new standard Goku though

You're wrong. Super Sayain God Goku is suppose to be skinny. Hell I think it was Krillin that said something about him being skinnier when he got the transformation.

It might've been the first time ritual version of the transformation that made him skinny.
In the manga he went ssj god again and he was still skinny. Same with Vegeta
