It was called the LAST HOPE SEDAN. The "S" was for Sedan. Read that somewhere years ago!

my dad bought a 2000 lhs literally showroom condition for 500 bucks from an older lady on kijiji. it needed notorious suspension work and a new rad but after that it was and still is and amazing car. bad on fuel in the city traffic. but not bad at all on the hwy. love the interior and the gauges as well. never likes chryslers but these ones are nice. just dont like how it looks like any other chrysler sedan that era. higher end models should truly stand out from others in my opinion

The LHS shared its underpinnings with the Chrysler Concorde, Dodge Intrepid and Eagle Vision. The internal codename at Chrysler was "LH." The vehicles were known collectively as the "LH cars." The actual meaning of the letters is not known, though some wags claimed that it stood for "Last Hope," a reference to the dire state of Chrysler's sales at the time. The production LHS takes its name from this internal designation; the "S" has no specific meaning.
    You are both wrong.

I have heard information from companies that have changed too. Does not mean I am wrong or you.

The information given was straight from Chrysler itself. Wherever you read this information from is incorrect. I've also read the coined term, "Luxury High-Performance Sedan", which is also wrong.

Lord help us from the colossally-uninformed used-car salesmen.
According to Chrysler, the LHS is the accronym for Luxury High-performance Sedan.
The LHS was Chrysler's top/expensive model to compete against the Lincoln Continental and Cadillac Seville. To set it apart from the caddy and lincoln, the LHS is designed like a sport car, and goes from 0 to 60 in amazing speed, while having all the interior luxury of the Cadillac and Lincoln.

LOL, uniformed. I don't think you have a fucking clue what you are talking about. It truly shows when you talk about the LHS as a sports car. You should do some fucking research. Funny I looked you up and guess what you don't have any car videos. No surprise there.

Dear little, little, little man. Number one rule of life: In any debate or disagreement, the first one to resort to crude and or vulger words, or, violence, loses the argument.
Your inability to find and utilyze an intelligent adverb or modifier says everything about your caliber and your reply.
BTW: I own the OEM Chrysler Factory Manual for the 2000 LHS that was sent to dealership's service centers when the LHS was released. I also own the OEM sales brochure and owner's manual.
