Three years ago, this was the first video I had watched when I began a relationship with one of the most incredible women I've ever had the blessings to meet, much less been lucky enough to have her heart.
It's kind of funny how life can be. This song had been forgotten as time went on, and today I had a blast of nostalgia when a co-worker started playing this on his guitar. And now, three years after I had first stumbled across this video.. this will have been the last I'll have watched as that relationship draws to a close. I have a lot of regrets, and failing to live up to the lyrics of this song to keep her is by far my greatest regret.
It's amazing how much a person can change in three years, much less one, and how some things seem ageless even as the environment around those things change. This video and this artist has truly grown since the last time I had seen them, and it's a gentle reminder that while some things might have grown stagnant, life doesn't stop to wait for them to kickstart back into motion.
So, to anyone who has made it this far.. put in a little extra effort to show that special someone that you love them with more than words.

Been listening to you for the first time tonight. Purely by accident. What I love is the way you just sing. No gymnastics, no trying too hard, none of the "fancy" crap that seemingly everybody insists on doing, usually poorly. You just sing, faith in your vocal ability, with a wonderful lilt which is totally captivating. Beautifully done.
