    I love how he trains alot of people are like “well we need to be gentle” no I’m not saying abuse or torture the dog but dogs are still animals and I feel like some people when training they don’t take in the part where dogs are still ANIMALS and that’s why I like him bc he knows they are animals and puts that in consideration

    I have been watching your videos for the last few days and have been implementing your methods to my 7 year old American Bully rescue who did not respect or pay attention to me at all on walks or in the house and also has a very short attention span. Within 15 minutes of our first day using your methods I was able to walk him with complete focus on me with no pulling and no distraction, so much so I am able to rest the leash in my palm. Definitely buying your obedience 101 course. This is amazing!

    Yea, the stay for my pit is the hardest to teach. She knows how to sit, lay, roll over, shake, and is well house trained, but that stay command is almost never obeyed. She'll sit and stare at me for a couple hours while I'm playing video games, but the second I get up and move, she's on my heels. My old springer spaniel/black lab mix understood commands in 3 different languages as well as hand signals.

    You are giving us hope. We adopted a 9-12(?) months old German shepherd-border collie mix. He is smart, responsive, but NEEDS training and NEEDS a job constantly. He is our 7th dog in our life and had no problem training our others. But he has almost as much crazy energy as Whiskey.
    When our dogs are in free time how can we train them not to chew what is not theirs, not to swallow the pieces of their chew toys, and not to eat anything we don’t give them to eat?

      They both serve as a signal to let your dog know that it is doing what you want of it. I'm by no means a professional so take this with a grain of salt, but I would assume it better to use only one so as to not confuse the dog

    Recommendations for excessive barking? Are bark collars worth pursuing? I have a Pyrenees/Dane Mix that leans toward the Pyrenees when it comes to protection and dominance over her herd (us) to the point where she is constantly looking out the window waiting to bark at the next person she sees. It’s worse at night when she seems to be more in tune to the slightest noise.

    Awesome video again! The best on RUclips without a shadow of a doubt. I do have a question with the e collar. From your experience , what do you normally quantify for the stims of being training one, annoying one, or a corrective one? For instance, if I train at an 8, do you think annoying is a 20 and corrective a 50?

    • @kyleashcraft4139

      I have a great Pyrenees/Bernese mix and she is too smart for her own good. The first couple training sessions she developed a reaction to me pulling out the prong collar. More rewards would be my suggestion. Whether its letting them sniff and click/reward or just some fast paced training that they can rewards quickly. Things they are good at but need help with is how I got her to enjoy it. Now I pull it out and she starts bouncing in the crate cause she knows that means rewards and training.

  • @solideomusical

    Whiskey seemed confused when Austin said "here" because he was used to responding to you. I wonder if using a 'non-standard' or foreign language command would prevent this because you don't want your dog obeying other people's commands (mistakenly or otherwise). Your thoughts?

    • @solideomusical
      @solideomusical 2 года назад +2

      @@ridropukoice3609 It is fairly common with working dogs so you may have the same problem. My friend trains Malinois with german commands and he says that his dogs won't obey anyone but him- even if the same command in german is used.

    Garret I know it is probably been mentioned and may not be a great video, but what are some tips for teaching crate obedience. My two dogs go to their crate and love it, stay when I open the door, but when I get home or someone walks through the room they get rowdy. not in an aggressive way but as in they want to come out. I thought place board training would transfer to that but it has not. One big thing is if I take one out to train or go with me the other has separation anxiety from them thought that would get better with giving big rewards for leaving KONG Treat but it has not improved.

    • @robertoverton2408
      @robertoverton2408 8 месяцев назад

      YES & NO. Quality e-collars can be programmed for different stimuli. Educator brand e-collars allow you to program tone, vibrate, nick (tens type stimuli) or constant on levels from 1 to 100 of what people would consider shock. I have the Eduuctor e-collar 900.seroes and love it. Great but pricey, and documentation provided is poor, but you can find programming and training videos on RUclips. Hope this helps? Good luck!!
