I may be the first person to swim in lake Perris. It was 1973, four of us had ridden our dirt bikes from our home at the time in Sunnymead. We had ridden through Moreno, (a community with a post office and grocery store in the same building, and if memory serves, a gas station outside), heading south we discovered a concrete pipe pouring water into a small swimming hole. Being a warm and dusty afternoon, we started splashing around in it. soon a park ranger came along and read us the riot act, kicked us out. This was before the opening ceremony...
I still remember the freeway in. Darrell, Rick Maffe and I stayed across the lake and camped the night before the opening. For weeks we'd paddle a small boat to the island snake hunting.
My dad got transferred to Moreno Valley from Amarillo Texas to March Air Force Base in 1964. My parents built the house out at Warner Ranch on Fillery My dad helped build Lake Paris in the early 70s at that time. We sold our house on Fillery and bought a little ranch out in Lakeview above Parrish Lake 1015 minutes from Lake Paris I now live in Bakersfield California. I was a firefighter in a little town in the central valley of California named Lemoore California Lemoore fire department. I spent 15 years in the fire department firefighter, EMT, and engineer. I still have cousins that live in Moreno Valley up on boxspring Mountain in which crazy is where that neighborhood is all those eucalyptus that used to be a huge Grove of eucalyptus and me and my friends and girlfriend would go ditch class at Moreno Valley and we used to go back there and party at the swing yeah good memories
I lved in moreno valley in the 70 ,s when it was called sunnymead and edgemont and i got to see Perris lake being built ,,and ive been out on the lake in a nice bayliner boat went out to the little island and went swimming ,,certain times ayear the monarch butterfly 🦋 come to the lake thousands of them and also spring a special time to go there as the wild flowers are in bloom and the squirrel,s come up close to the pic_nic area begging for food ,, the place is always clean and theres security so you feel safe ,,a nice lake yo spend time with your family and friends
This is very interesting. Learned something new. Thank you for the information. I wonder if the weight of water puts any pressure on the plates underground or if that even matters lol.
We make videos for the Southern California Railway Museum. We would love to be involved in the making of your videos... At minimum we can show you how to remove the wind noise from your videos.

Cool!! 👍🏻
You need a better microphone to cut the wind sound. Interesting video.
We agree...we are planning on getting one!
@@lakeperris9708 Sounded Just fine to me!!💓
I wonder how many different species of animals call Perris home?
When is the lake gonna open?
