To those who don't know the story behind the picture of Winston Churchill at 10:35! He was scheduled to have his portrait take by Ottawa photographer Yousuf Karsh. On the day in question Winston was unusually cheerful. This didn't suite the image that Karsh was trying to capture. As they chatted Winston was smoking his usual cigar. The biblical narratives of the different gospels do not contradict each other. Each was written for a particular purpose highlighting parts of the story for their audience that was poignant to the writer's message, just as you would find when multiple eyewitnesses would all relate the same event differently as they experienced it from their perspective to illustrate their role and interest in it.
18:09 Hello from Denmark. In the map with the european gift givers, Denmark should be two coloured. Santa - the *yule man/christmas man* is coexisting with the christmas gnome/elf, *julenissen.* While the *yule man* lives on the north pole and brings presents to all the children in the world, the *nisse* lives in the attic or stables (if you have one), every household have their own. The *nisse* is probably the leftovers from an old traditional household god or ancestor cult, like the roman Lares. The word "nisse" in itself derived from the popular name Niels, Nikolaj, Niklas, Nis, Klaus... Nikolas... like Saint Nicholas! In Sweden they call him *tomten.* The yule goat as an ornament made of straw is also used in Denmark. The costum was imported from Sweden in the late 19th early 20th century.
Here's a very modern christmas tradition in Denmark: Watching *Walt Disney Presents: From All of Us to All of You* in TV The old Walt Disney Christmas special from 1958 is rerun year after year with minor variations. There's always the clip with Bambi on ice, Lady and the Tramp eating spaghetti, singing mice sewing a dress for Cinderella, Snow White and the dwarfs having a party, etc etc. Same in Sweden, Norway and Finland. The most important Christmas movie in my family: *Three Wishes for Cinderella* - Czech East-German fairy-tale film from 1973. (Tři oříšky pro Popelku - Drei Haselnüsse für Aschenbrödel) It became a Christmas tradition on Norwegian TV
The Bible does not provide a date for the nativity of Christ, true: December 25th is a feast date The Church settled on shortly after establishing March 25th as the Feast of the Annunciation. The Feast of the Annunciation is when the Church celebrates the angel Gabriel announcing God's Incarnation to the Virgin Mary (in other words, the day when Christ was conceived in a manner surpassing nature). 3/25 + 9 months = 12/25 Q: In what year was Sol Invictus first recorded as being celebrated on December 25th? A: After the Church had already established the Feast on the Nativity on December 25th. Feel free to look all of the above up.
To cut the long story short . Xmas is you are celebrating Nimrods re-birth who is one of Noah's descendants who created the first human civilisation called Babel.
That is a single source, the discredited Scottish Presbyterian Preacher Alexander Hislop’s 1858 book “The Two Babylons “ . His source for this claim is he made it up completely.
That has nothing to do with European pagan traditions, the Hebrew language is completely unrelated to European languages and is NOT a part of the Indo-European language family.
It is the Roman Saturnalia which was observed on December 25th. Jesus was probably born sometime in the fall possibly early October and Christians never observed his day of birth but they did observe the day of his death Nisan 14 as Jesus had directed to keep this in remembrance of him. He directed his 11 faithful apostles to observe this.
I wanted to comment, not watch a 97 minute video. Christmas is not a Christian holiday and there is no record of the birth of CHRIST celebrated or commanded to be celebrated. Firstly, the Jews did not celebrate birthdays. Secondly, December 25, is the birth of a man-god named Tammuz, AKA Mesopotamian Dumuzid, or Greek Adonis, god of beauty and fertility. Tammuz was the son of Semiramis, queen consort of Nimrod, the first god-man in the post-deluvian world. Long story short: JESUS CHRIST the only begotten Son of GOD was not, and could not have been born on December 25. In the Old Testament, GOD established 7 feasts; three Springtime festivals: Feast of Unleavened Bread, Passover (when CHRIST sacrificed Himself), and the Barley Harvest (Feast of Weeks). One Summer Feast: Feast of Wheat Ingathering (Pentecost). Three Autumn feasts: Feast of Tabernacles, Feast of Trumpets, Atonement Day. The Feast of Trumpets, mid-September until early October, is the most likely day of the birth of CHRIST, because He is the KING of Kings. Is the day of His birth relevant? Only if the truth is relevant.
Jesus Christ more likely conceived in December and born in September/October during one of the Fall Feasts like The Feast of Tabernacles, The Feast of Trumpets, Days of Awe. I have thought the Feast of Tabernacles, too. Because of the timing of Zachariah in the temple during the Feast during the time of year he was there and how far along Elizabeth was pregnant with John the Baptist (6 months) and when Mary visited them you can tell the season of time of year when Jesus Christ was born from the Bible. You just have to figure the feast, the time of year, the timing of the pregnancies of both Elizabeth and Mary. It was in the early FALL.
Santa Claus and the Chimney goes back to the story of St. Nicholas being banned by a proud father watching the windows in his house to keep Nicholas from throwing in a third bag of gold to keep his third daughter out of prostitution by paying their doweries throwing the last bag down the chimney. The three gold bags are now the symbol of pawnbrokers.
1:08 actually no it isn’t hard to know what the "spirit" of the old pagan traditions are or where they come from, they aren't ever evolving as the moder secular Christmas amalgamation is.
So, the postman commits a felony as he just opens and reads personal letters addressed to be delivered to Santa. And he's the protagonist. The 70s were great.
Re julbukking...in the musical Scrooge with Albert finney when he's transported back to his school by ghost of Xmas past he's passed by a wagon filled with kids wearing costumes and singing
In the 14th century, English borrowed the Latin paganus as pagan, and used it with the same meaning. In time both heathen and pagan also took on the meaning of "a person having no religion."
According to Wikipedia (I know, not the best source), Balthazar name origin is Akkadian and mean Bel or Ba’al (god/lord) protects the king. On similar note, You may say is “folk etymology “ when I say I see a connection to Tzar. Many have stated connections in tzar, Caesar, Kaiser and Shah/sharif/sheriff. Personally, I cannot doubt the first 4.
I gave up celebrating Christmas a yule log time ago, that was quite some elf ears ago when I saw a pic of a little girl sat upon Satan Claws lap, asking where is he in the scriptures? Yule never beLIEve it when they tell you in a Christmas song that there is no God as their rendition of No 'El sounds abroad! The hidden message and glad tidings only last a brief moment before they turn around once more and go to war! Onward Christian soldiers is Jiggery popery and as you will know, even those who know nothing of the Hebrew scriptures, which describe the errant pagans with their tottering tree cut from the forest that you should not copy, even they celebrate Christs Mass, I think Pope Leo x knew it would be "massive" and is why he said "what profit has not that fable of christ brought us?" After all, which religion has its mass and Jesuit priests?
A term signifying the holiday season, Noël comes to us from the Latin verb nasci, meaning “to be born.” In the book of Ecclesiastes, the birth of Jesus is called natalis. A variation of this word, nael, made its way into Old French as a reference to the Christmas season and later into Middle English as nowel.
I got about 2 minutes in and had to dip on this one. I thought it would be interesting but the presenters snizzeling delivery, and the audience's reaction.... I saw where it was going to go. But I was generally interested.
The account of the Nativity in Luke does NOT contradict the account in Matthew. I suggest reading them for yourself, attempting to do so objectively, so you can confirm the following: Saint Matthew tells us Christ was born in Bethlehem: Saint Luke tells us why, that the Holy Family traveled there from Nazareth for a census. The shepherds that Saint Luke tells us were nearby would have been able to worship Christ almost immediately, whereas the Magi in Matthew needed to travel a great distance following the appearance of a star. Matthew tells us the Holy Family is in a house in Bethlehem by the time the Magi arrive; but he does NOT tell us they lived there before Christ's birth (an assumption of the presenter). King Herod's decision to kill children two and under suggests the Magi saw the star that led them to Christ TWO YEARS PRIOR to their arrival in Bethlehem. Now explain how these two accounts are contradictory again...?
@@trextor23 , wrong. If you deny the Son, then you deny the Father. The Son is the only way to the Father, period! Read Psalm 2, the Messiah, Savior and future Ruler of the world is called Son by God. It's been prophesied hundreds of times in the OT or Tanakh.
The Bible proves itself through history. People ignorant of prophecy as interpreted by the reformers are ignorant of this. This guy would benefit from a 1560 Geneva Bible and the notes within.
In fact, December 25th at about 8pm EST is when the Devil's plans become ineffective and Jesus takes all the veils that excessive evil and deals with the Devil have torn, and brings them all back up for 3 days, the same number of days Jesus was in Hell for, before returning them to being in the state they were before Christmas Day! All the demons hate Christmas Day, because it is the day of Jesus Christ, who exercises his powers on that day.
The story of Adam and Eve was not written to explain why snakes don't have legs, the narrative is FAR more sophisticated than that: The story of Adam and Eve was written to explain why we humans, created in the image and likeness of God, die. When God tells the serpent he will eat dust (the material He used to create man), He is banishing the serpent from His presence and into the realm of death.
Because it is a charged word used by political left to describe anyone who does not believe in their way. It indicates a value judgement in what is supposed to be a factual presentation, a value judgement that does not belong. Without ever in the video discussing the source of the story he's on about, which is NOT a traditional Germanic nor Celtic story.
True. But... do you know the route to divine life? Gen 1:27. "And God made man according to His image and likeness and gave them authority". That got lost through the fall of man. But is freely returned by Jesus Holy Blood and Holy Spirit IN us. The Gospels were written by man like you and me. Eyewitnesses that saw God walking this earth in Christ. Healing all, raising the dead, casting out demons, controlling nature. He said: "If you see Me, you see the Father. The Father and I are one. You will understand that the Father is IN me and I am IN you. I will send Holy Spirit, the same as Me, He will be IN you, guide you into truth and will give you power. The same miracles I do, you will do too, etc ,etc". It is in John 14 up to 17. It is the ultimate conclusion of Gods word. Jesus, born by the Spirit of God, filled with the Spirit of God....... God manifested on earth in a human body. Completely normal btw. In Genesis He made man according to His own image and likeness. So what's the fuzz Jesus being the exact image of God in the flesh? He just is. Evenmore. Now by His Spirit we transform back to the same image! Hence the countless miracles i already have experienced. God has come full circle! "As in the first Adam ALL died (lost the divine nature), so also ALL were made alive IN Christ to walk in Zoë = divine life again." Rom 5:18 The divine life the first Adam let go of has been freely returned to us by Christ's blood and Spirit. People seldom understood this, they mock, scoff, put it down, contradict it.... leading you away from your true identity in God. Heartbreaking. Same happens in Christianity btw. Most Christians think it is about trying to do good, dodging hell and going to heaven some day. Heaven already came down in Spiritform, for you to be indwelled by, be changed and walk in unselfish divine power and love. "Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty [emancipation from bondage, true freedom]. And we all, with unveiled face, continually seeing as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are progressively being transformed into His image from [one degree of] glory to [even more] glory, which comes from the Lord, [who is] the Spirit." 2 Corinthians 3:17-18 AMP Hence the healing miracles we experience.
I consider the Christmas story a myth. However, I find a metaphorical meaning in the story of Joseph. In the culture of that time, marrying a young woman who is pregnant would bring disgrace upon Joseph and his family. Yet, Joseph did not "cast her aside" There may be different reasons for his violation of culture, but I focus upon Joseph's love for Mary countering any pressure to abandon her. Joseph is then the true figure in the Christmas story (again, I do not view this story as historical). I think it is probable that Mary was raped (and therefore, dishonored and considered ineligible for marriage). There is the legend of Panthea, a Roman soldier. I do believe that Jesus was considered an outsider due to a disgraced origin. Perhaps the Christmas story may be considered as a parable to illustrate the power of love. After all, who would think it wise for a woman near to giving birth to travel to Bethlehem, particularly if on a bouncing donkey!!!
One correction, the tree belongs to the pagan side, not the merged traditions, it’s just that modern Christians have not read their Bibles. Christians need to accept the fact that they have to share the season with others and stop bullying businesses and their employees into saying “Merry Christmas” rather than “Happy Holidays”. Next time some knucklehead whines about a “War of Christmas”, show them what a war on Christmas would actually look like if it were happening: Jeremiah 10:2-4 “Do not learn the Ways of the nations. They cut a tree out of the forest and a craftsman shapes it with his chisel. They adorn it with silver and gold; they fasten it with hammer and nails so it will not totter.” Hebrews 10:26 ESV "For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins.
It is believed Jesus was born around the Feast of the Tabernacles which is September/October. If we go back nine months from here where are we??? And when DOES life begin??? We need to remember how Jesus came into this world. If we stop celebrating Christmas we could stop reading scriptures associated with Christmas. You cannot take away from God's Word!!!
Before drugs were illegal, and if this is when these stories were spun, maybe the people writing were high or crazy. Or maybe it is all true. LOL, either way, thanks ❤ and Happy Holidays.
Yeah, things got all messed up when people came out of the Dark Ages and could read the scriptures in their own tongue. Give me a break and learn your material 🤣🤣🤣. God bless Martin Luther! Praise God for Erasmus! Praise God for William Tyndale! And the pagan roots of Christmas go clear back to Babylon.
JERIMIAH 10:1-5 kjv ,explains tree worship even if it's another type of tree it's still the same thing bud worshipping an tree is pagan bro lots of lukewarm Christian folks think it's OK sense it's a different tree it's not pagan sorryto bust bubble it's the same regardless what tree or decorations sad to see this ignorance in the church
@@rubi_4 count me in that opinion. It is a cynical ad belittling laugh, communicating disrespect of the idea he is relating at the moment. A subtle manipulation of listener’s mind.
Very good information. But you need to stop snickering and laughing so much you personally find ridiculous. It gives the impression that you're not a serious scholar and very annoying!
CHARLES SPURGEON SERMON ON DEC. 24 1871 “We have no superstitious regard for times and seasons. Certainly we do not believe in the present ecclesiastical arrangement called Christmas. First, because we do not believe in the mass at all, but abhor it, whether it be sung in Latin or in English; and secondly, because we find no Scriptural warrant whatever for observing any day as the birthday of the Savior; and consequently, its observance is a superstition, because not of divine authority. Superstition has fixed most positively the day of our Savior’s birth, although there is no possibility of discovering when it occurred. … It was not till the middle of the third century that any part of the church celebrated the nativity of our Lord; and it was not till very long after the Western church had set the example, that the Eastern adopted it. … Probably the fact is that the “holy” days were arranged to fit in with the heathen festivals. We venture to assert, that if there be any day in the year, of which we may be pretty sure that it was not the day on which the Savior was born, it is the twenty-fifth of December. Nevertheless since, the current of men’s thoughts is led this way just now, and I see no evil in the current itself, I shall launch the bark of our discourse upon that stream, and make use of the fact, which I shall neither justify nor condemn, by endeavoring to lead your thoughts in the same direction. Since it is lawful, and even laudable, to meditate upon the incarnation of the Lord upon any day in the year, it cannot be in the power of other men’s superstitions to render such a meditation improper for to-day. Regarding not the day, let us, nevertheless, give God thanks for the gift of His dear Son.”
According to Pierre Jakez Hélias, who wrote the Horse of Pride: Life in a Breton Village, the Infant Jesus (who brought the gifts) came down the chimney because it was purified by the fire. A door could let any old sinner in, which is why the Infant Jesus came down the chimney.
Why make a video about a serious subject if you're going to giggle and laugh so often? It makes me feel like you don't take your subject seriously, it also sounds like you make fun of certain facts. Your video is extremely disrespectful. Also you don't cover much about the pagan roots of Christmas as your video title says.
However, in etymology, the English term Christ-mas consists of two words: Christ - the son of God, and Mas - carnival celebration and Hate, so Christmas = Christ Hate. I have allways wondered why celebrate jesus overfeeding ur self to hospital, should be feeding the poor
Christ = _anointed_ in Greek and has nothing to do with being a son of God. Mas comes from the Latin word _missa_ which means "to send". The last thing a priest would do is _dismiss_ his congregation. Over time, missa became associated with church service and evolved into Mass. Christ's Mass.
Repent - turn from men's teachings and traditions. Turn back to the eternal Covenant. The reign of Yahusha draws near. Teach the Name of Yahuah, and instruct everyone to obey all things we were instructed to obey (Commandments and appointed times given at Ex. 20 / Dt. 5, and Dt. 16). The change in the priesthood (offering animal blood) is all that's been done away with. Yahusha did not come to destroy His Torah; He came to destroy the works of the devil. One cannot repent and simultaneously think they can live as if the Ten Commandments no longer matter.
- @@ItsMe-ic1gb - Some do say the Ten Commandments don't matter, so they don't teach them as the love-training they are. The extreme end of the disobedient inhabitants is imminent, so the clarity of our language needs to leave no room for being misunderstood.
Excuse me. You dare to say that Christianity has pagan rituals. Come on. Now, I have to go to communion so I can eat the flesh of Jesus and drink his blood!
@JettedGod-ward NO, no! Almost all Christians are the same! Mostly hypocrites!! I know, I have been most of the Christian denominations and anytime they open their mouths and say nobody but them are going to heaven, I say BS!
I gave up after 5 mins This irritating man with his sniggering (one can only assume he found it amusing although I doubt anyone else did ) annoyed me so much and I wonder did he ever get to the advertised subject of pagan roots but by then I no longer cared !
The Catholic church made Christ birthdate as 12/25 because this day was the pagan celebration with loads of drinking & gambling & merrymaking. So to get ppl to come to church to celebrate this date was picked. That's the long & short of it. No one knows the actual birthday of Christ. Not biblical at all. I found this lecture to be too wordy. Most of our modern celebrations are pagan in nature. The kissing under the mistletoe is based on the Celtic druids. Believing this plant to symbolize fertility. The Victorians brought in their homes the evergreen tree & sending Christmas cards or postcards. Some The material presented wasn't about Christmas at all. A wasted hour I will never get back.
@JettedGod-ward The Catholic church/ clergy covered up sexual molestation crimes. And their abuses towards mankind goes back many decades. Burning accused witches at the stake & trying to turn heathens/ pagans to their religious beliefs & native Americans too. So many cover ups & conspiracies. Vile practices condoned by clergy. Their ritchuals are outdated or 🤪 crazy. Money hungry. It's very sad.

A: After the Church had already established the Feast on the Nativity on December 25th.
Feel free to look all of the above up.
Recently learned this, too, from a religious studies scholar in another RUclips channel.
To cut the long story short . Xmas is you are celebrating Nimrods re-birth who is one of Noah's descendants who created the first human civilisation called Babel.
Saturnalia roman orgies
That is a single source, the discredited Scottish Presbyterian Preacher Alexander Hislop’s 1858 book “The Two Babylons “ . His source for this claim is he made it up completely.
That has nothing to do with European pagan traditions, the Hebrew language is completely unrelated to European languages and is NOT a part of the Indo-European language family.
And who could forget the story of Saints Dingus and Doofus.
1:12:20 , the decoration of living trees actually was a pagan tradition , it was also a pagan tradition to hang sacrifices from living trees .
He is realistically considered to have been born in spring at least by some
I wanted to comment, not watch a 97 minute video.
WTF??? 🙄

Ecclesiastes 7:1 my friend.
You are correct about Dec 25! I offer online Bible studies! Let me know if you want to join!
Did Canada ever exist?
1:08 actually no it isn’t hard to know what the "spirit" of the old pagan traditions are or where they come from, they aren't ever evolving as the moder secular Christmas amalgamation is.
So, the postman commits a felony as he just opens and reads personal letters addressed to be delivered to Santa. And he's the protagonist. The 70s were great.
Re julbukking...in the musical Scrooge with Albert finney when he's transported back to his school by ghost of Xmas past he's passed by a wagon filled with kids wearing costumes and singing
Technically all classical religions evolved from paganism.
How interesting that European pagan rituals seem so similar ro Old Testament rituals
In the 14th century, English borrowed the Latin paganus as pagan, and used it with the same meaning. In time both heathen and pagan also took on the meaning of "a person having no religion."
“You can’t pray for a place in heaven’s unearthly estate….”
Ppl hate admitting religions are pagan
I got about 2 minutes in and had to dip on this one. I thought it would be interesting but the presenters snizzeling delivery, and the audience's reaction.... I saw where it was going to go. But I was generally interested.

It's may be a Canadian French. They would take your donation with a letter of apology 😅
The account of the Nativity in Luke does NOT contradict the account in Matthew. I suggest reading them for yourself, attempting to do so objectively, so you can confirm the following:
Saint Matthew tells us Christ was born in Bethlehem: Saint Luke tells us why, that the Holy Family traveled there from Nazareth for a census.
Yep, we live in a world of lies. Now, some of the paganism holiday are revealed. Halleluyah!! Yahuah is good all the time.
Holidays are whatever you make them!
Yahuah or Jesus..
Yahuah is the Father's name and Yahusha is the Messiah's or Som of Yah's name.
The one true God has no son. Such a paganistic thing to believe that God has a son

Saturnalia and yule that is all

Our topic tonight is "our ignorant modern garbage that people ignorant history believe as long as we put it in a video presentation."
In this modern time of day Center would be charged with breaking in and entering
Translated not STOLEN.
got toys in a shoe on St. Nicholaus Day in W. Germany
Jehovah's Witnesses have been saying this for years, that Christmas has pagan roots.
Christ, the savior is born
Why did he feel the need to drop the word "bigot" in the first two minutes?
Why did you feel the need to complain about it?
He said:
"If you see Me, you see the Father.
"As in the first Adam ALL died (lost the divine nature), so also ALL were made alive IN Christ to walk in Zoë = divine life again." Rom 5:18
The divine life the first Adam let go of has been freely returned to us by Christ's blood and Spirit.
And we all, with unveiled face, continually seeing as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are progressively being transformed into His image from [one degree of] glory to [even more] glory, which comes from the Lord, [who is] the Spirit."
2 Corinthians 3:17-18 AMP
Hence the healing miracles we experience.
I prefer not taking myths too seriously. Just stories.
No…Christmas was SUPERIMPOSED onto pagan rites and festivals…not EXTRACTED from them…a massive difference
No.
Next time some knucklehead whines about a “War of Christmas”, show them what a war on Christmas would actually look like if it were happening:
Jeremiah 10:2-4
“Do not learn the Ways of the nations. They cut a tree out of the forest and a craftsman shapes it with his chisel. They adorn it with silver and gold; they fasten it with hammer and nails so it will not totter.”
Hebrews 10:26 ESV
"For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins.
I would love to know how to prove that to my family
JERIMIAH 10:1-5 kjv ,explains tree worship even if it's another type of tree it's still the same thing bud worshipping an tree is pagan bro lots of lukewarm Christian folks think it's OK sense it's a different tree it's not pagan sorryto bust bubble it's the same regardless what tree or decorations sad to see this ignorance in the church

CHARLES SPURGEON SERMON ON DEC. 24 1871
“We have no superstitious regard for times and seasons.
Yeah, so what? Merry Christmas!
We dont say christmas goat, its kekri goat, sweeds turned in to jul or light, nothing to do with christ,
Why make a video about a serious subject if you're going to giggle and laugh so often? It makes me feel like you don't take your subject seriously, it also sounds like you make fun of certain facts. Your video is extremely disrespectful. Also you don't cover much about the pagan roots of Christmas as your video title says.
However, in etymology, the English term Christ-mas consists of two words: Christ - the son of God, and Mas - carnival celebration and Hate, so Christmas = Christ Hate.
I have allways wondered why celebrate jesus overfeeding ur self to hospital, should be feeding the poor
Festival or celebration. your comment makes no sense other than to attempt a strawman.
💛✝️👍👍👍
Who cares. Christmas is still fun.
One cannot repent and simultaneously think they can live as if the Ten Commandments no longer matter.
no one says that the ten commandments don't matter. You're very mistaken and seemingly susceptible to hyperbolic language
- @@ItsMe-ic1gb - Some do say the Ten Commandments don't matter, so they don't teach them as the love-training they are. The extreme end of the disobedient inhabitants is imminent, so the clarity of our language needs to leave no room for being misunderstood.
