- Here for sale is my Yamaha SG 200. The Yamaha SG, was in the day known as a Les Paul Killer.
Bought new in 1985 with only home use (lightly) since then. It has been totally reliable and easy to play, with a lovely low action.

Hey Sam, if you didn't know. On that one was playing (and still playing) guitarist from most famous USSR rock band called Kino. That's the reason why you got a lot of comments from Russians.

An amazing model! I have the exact model (I think the same year). It was the only guitar I owned for over 30 years until I bought another. Such a hidden gem. Mine is now beat up but I love it!
Owned my pearl white sg200 for 20 years it's a beautiful guitar and I use it for every mood. I have so many acoustics but only 2 electric guitars this one and a telecaster..
Nice! I have this exact model and colour! I wish I had known you were selling this - I would have bought it! My I bought in '85 and its banged up.I love the sound of this model even though it was their lower-end offering,

I've owned a number of Yamahas, and still own a couple. I had an SG200 just like this, in white, around 1990. Great guitar. The stock pickups were very good, so I kept them. Wish I still had that guitar. Totally superior to a Gibson SG or Les Paul.
This was one of the best necks I've ever played Angus and I agree easily stacks up against any Gibson SG. Regret selling, however I still have my 1980's black SBG200 :-)
@@samhinks9033 One thing I always wondered was whether it had Yamaha produced pickups or DiMarzios because they were double creme. DiMarzio's trademark for double creme humbuckers keeps other double creme pickups from being sold in the US. Whatever they were they were great. It was one of the few guitars I kept totally stock. I didn't change anything but the strings. I love their Revstar line, the ones that have contours and routing to make them lighter. I get back aches and can't play heavy guitars these days.

Great Stuff, is this SG200 smaller than his "Big Brothers"? Like the SG1000 SG2000 ect...Seems like it.
Yup, it is... the baby of the line up, back in the early 80s. That said the neck is incredible; super hot pickups and easily more playable than a Epiphone SG. I have a an SBG 2000 for the same era but built while Yamaha were being sued by Gibson; quite rare guitar... Les Paul killer. Ciao

@@turntablesrockmyworld9315 There were legal 'conversations' which is why in the US the Yamaha SG became the SBG for a short while. The SBG2000 guitar are much rarer than. the SG2000 counterparts. Shape didn't change and the name reverted back after less than a year I believe.
