I think that having Seth on team punk made less sense and instead I would switch him and Cody and Cody in War Games and Seth fight Moxley Cause Seth hates Punk and Roman. Also Cody teamed up with everyone on that team recently and Seth vs Moxley is obvious why would I need to explain.
Though I understand your disagreement, having Seth & Punk learning to conform & coexist for the sake of WWE would make for some good moments during the match. In addition, since it's a Survivor Series PPV, World Champion vs World Champion (Face of the Company vs Face of the Company) is a tradition that just needs to happen. That being said Cody Rhodes vs Jon Moxley is a match that has never happened before (Stardust vs Dean Ambrose nor does The Shield vs The Rhodes count, lol).
Punk is also an experienced veteran though, especially as a team leader (Example: Nexus, Straight Edge, etc). And even though Randy is experienced, he has less experience being a leader in his past factions (apart from Legacy that he ended up backstabbing anyways) in comparison to Punk is.
