I would definitely say Act 1 and 2 are super slow, basically just lore dumping and explaining some basics of the world, but the second part of Act 3 starts a really consistently interesting storyline from that point onward straight to the Finale of Act 6. And I gotta say... for a 1.0 storyline... this is probably the best story I have ever seen. It NEEDS to get the explanations out of the way because you can see Kuro is aiming HIGH with the story so some of the complexities of the world need to be explained straight away. I don't know how far you have played, if you have started yet, but if you need a pointer from where on you should probably record, just to be safe: you accompany someone in Act 2 who is looking for another person. You get to a camp and talk to some people and once the person that accompanies you basically bids you farewell for now... THAT is where the good part of the story starts.
So, for me, the story was slow in the beginning, but by the end of 1.0 story, I was loving it. Act 6 was one of my favorite acts I've played in a gacha game. I do recommend giving it a shot. If you ain't liking it by the end of 1.0 story, then you aint gonna like it in future.
MMMMM okay bet I appreciate you keeping it real, might just play the start on my own and then in the later acts record so it's more fun that way but we'll see
@@SxmmyWasHere I'd recommend recording anyway just in case and deciding whether to post or not. There's a specific point where it picks up and I can't say exactly where without spoils (also don't remember which act it is)
Agree, approaching the ending of 1.0 the story was great. But I can see the EN voice acting working against the story, making it look bad or worse than it is.
@@lichrin6997 The VA work seemed better in act 5 and 6 compared to the rest, so we'll see how it goes. I've already submitted my feedback on it to them.
Chapters 1 until 4 is really slow because the of the world-building and stuff so you might feel really bored but gladly they have a skip button for the story (Not all can be skipped tho) and when you get to chapters 5 and 6 that when you really feel the heat but I suggest you play it using JP VA because the EN VA is really bad (There are some good VA but mostly bad) I really like how they tell the story in this game because when there is a battle in the story it's not just us or another playable character that joins the fight but also the NPC which makes it more real and immersive for me. But yeah the combat is the one thing that really make everyone enjoy the game, all the feature in the game (Gameplay-wise) is really awesome and the bosses fight is really challenging, especially the Hollogram
I wanted Jiyan as my first limited, but i NEED Geshu now lol Everyone is convinced he should be playable in the future. So I'll be saving for him haha. I agree, he's 11/10 design
I played the story without bias of any game (ive played a LOT of gacha), and its dreadfully info-dumpy from the get-go, can be insanely confusing if you don't click every speech option and the eng dub is pretty hard to get through. It took until act 5 & 6 for the story to get some sort of excitement and I don't feel the conclusion of the main story for now, was satisfactory. also, the whole first part is pretty long (i felt it took as long as a full hi3rd chapter). the gameplay, however is super fun, every character feels great to play, and can be challenging which to me, is fun.
Lmao. The fact they ended it at act 4 in cbt2 made me go like "that's it?" And also the world quest like with the boss reveal like hot rider and that monkey could've been better ngl. The engagement and the hype of the boss was barely there.
I just pretending the beginning of the story doesnt exist and the story is really good as u progress. The thing that hook me the most is the combat system. S tier
The beginning needs to exist tho. Although yeah its a yap session but it mostly introduces us to the world and our own character. Once that's established they can pop off which they did lmao
I’m about 100+ hours into the game, and I gotta say keeping it 100, this game is worth a shot, the devs listen to feedback and have constantly put out hotfix after hotfix to better the experience of the players, story is a little slow at the beginning but Act 6 is insane and one of my favorite in any GACHA game barring hsr, the combat feels so good one of my favorite combat systems in ANY game not just Gacha, the echo system is confusing at first but it’s simple once you understand the terminology of everything, but yeah highly recommend this game if ya don’t like it then that’s fine but 100% give it a shot
I've been playing since launch and while i really love the combat and exploration(story is still building up for me) there are ALOT of translation bugs and i'm not a fan of how much some things cost stamina wise(60 to kill a boss or clear a Tacit field) since it leaves not much left for other stuff. Voice acting does't really stand out that much either nor does the music, the trailers have great soundtracks but u won't find that ingame wich is strange, though i suspect they are just not as good at ambient music as they are at combat ones. That said, there's plenty to do and i'm not rushing so we'll see how it is when 1.1 drops and i gotta give em credit for being busy fixing all the issues couse the game has had alot of hotfixes already(along with compensations for us) wich shows they are't just letting stuff be.
If you love fast pace combat like PGR, this game is a get go. The story is like most of gachas game which is slow at start with world building. I still at Act 3 because exploration was so much fun 😂. Knowing Kuro the story will get better as it goes. Just hope they got time to cook for next patch with more optimazation patch. Like PGR, all characters even the 4* was fun to play with. Combat was really good.
Being honest the story was slow and bored me but Act 6 i actually stuck through that i also agree that the directing of the Voicr acting needs a bit of work besides those inconvenience and some bugs the game is pretty good after having been released afew days ago
Story starts hella slow. I mostly didnt remember or skipped most of chapter 1-4. Chapter 5 it starts ramping up and i started getting more invested. But holy omfg. Chapter 6 was pure peak. It was as good as hoyo stories, maybe even better. and we all know how all latest hoyoverse story modes are. The animation was clean, the story gave me chills and constantly kept me on the edge of my seat. Easily one of the best introduction stories i would say.
Ppl need to chill out its onky 1.0 what they be expecting some end game story level things, like bruh when genshin 1.0 came out 💀 it was not even good as this
tbh I like the story. The first couple acts were kinda mid due to a lot of exposition dumps and poor direction in voicing. However Act 3 forward it improves story wise. They said they heard feedback and are going to improve the eng dub and you can already hear improvements done as you go further into the story. The issue is apparently they hired a bunch of Londoners to voice characters and pushed them to do american accents which many weren't comfortable with. They are also hiring another voice director.
I don't agree the story is mid, the thing is, its a slow burn and maybe that's what people don't like? But for me, there are many emotional hits, its interesting and the only one who's voice acting feels awkward is Yang Yang, so yea, that's my take on it.
The first few chapters are boring imo and that’s coming from someone who’s kinda glazing the game 😭🙏 but nah it picks up and it got me hooked, loving it so far
Bro this game is straight fire, I kid you not. The story ain’t it until about Act V but holy shit is it fun to play. Even the 4 stars are enjoyable. The least fun WuWa 4* is more fun than the most fun Genshin 5* in my opinion. Combat feels way too clean and satisfying. Also farming Echoes (Artifact equivalent) is way more F2P friendly than Artifact grinding in Genshin and can be done resinless and co-op. There’s also 3x the endgame content of Genshin. I’m not even a Genshin hater but this game definitely took the opportunity to improve where Genshin is lacking. Try not to glaze challenge impossible sorry not sorry. Summon rates are also better at 0.8% with a pity at 80 and soft pity at 65. Weapon banners also have 100% chance instead of Genshin’s 33%.

@TheBrotatoPatch true, the rover VA (female idk about male) has been the only one I've had a problem with. No emotion at all.
The story really picks up in chapter 6. If you want the most enjoyment outta the bosses don’t over level for them.

@dargennn true but now I also want scar and the magistrate haha what do I do?
