I give it 6 months before someone starts manufacturing this and selling it. What a brilliantly simple idea!
thanks; I hope they will call it the Sternar 1.33x if they steal the idea :)
I would personally do a creative Commons attribution license so that manufacturers are required to attribute the original inventor since it's easier than patenting while helping with publicity
there are alot like this on market, such as those from moment, i know u are hyped, just don't give up looking the whole picture
this is SO cool, Mathiew! I've been wanting to put my 1.33x adapter in front of those tiny, vintage pentax lenses like the 24mm f2.8 lens, because they will project up to an APSC sized image, and the entrance pupil is small enough for a smartphone anamorphic like the one you have. Wish me luck, and thank you for making such fun, creative videos!
keep me posted on your results !
I've actually tried this with the pentax 110 24mm f2.8 and an ulanzi 1.33x anamorphic adapter for phones. It definitely kind of works without vignetting even on aps-c, however getting a good setup where the adapter stays on well in place and allows for manual focusing of the lens would be quite difficult, probably optimally requiring custom made parts. Also the image was very very soft, but part of it might be the ulanzi adapter which was quite soft also on a phone. Good luck with your project! Keep me also posted!
Notification bell Gang, another great video Mathieu 🎉
You are one of the best. You're not thinking outside the box, you're living outside the box.
It's cold outside, can i come in ? :))
@@MathieuStern Nah, we need you outside. Besides wouldn't be a problem for you as you are on fire🔥:)
Great use of 3dprinting! Nice Cinematic Look!
I just started recording hobby videos in anamorphic/anamorfake, and with the probe lens. This is absolutely perfect timing. :p Thanks for showing this, it's really awesome!
EDIT: I just remembered, it was your Sirui anamorphic videos that convinced me to buy one in the first place, so thanks again for that!
I have the Great Joy combo set from when they were still experimenting. It’s a 60mm 1.33x lens and a 1.35x adapter that can be combined with the lens to get 60mm 1.8x or used on a spherical as a 1.35x attachment.
One thing I was curious about was macro. A way to get macro shots is with an extension tube. So I tried using extension tube with a spherical and the adapter. Surprisingly, with plenty of light, Anamorphic macro works fairly well; although in terms of simplicity, it’s not as elegant as your solution.
That cold open has some Phylactère Cola vibes 😀
Amazing!! Would you please share a link to download and/or purchase the adapter you designed? I´m considering buying that probe lens. Thanks!!
I thought about putting a smartphone front anamorphic adapter onto other tiny lenses. Like the one lens I am using the most, is the Panasonic 14mm f/2.5 and it's tiny. But those adapters will struggle with wide angles.
I also have a few vintage lenses from the 60s that were made for 16mm film, and some cover the MFT sensor fully - yet they would need 16mm anamorphic adapters which exist but become really expensive over the past 15 years.
J.J. Abrams would being proud of the lens flares!
would fitment be possible on an industar 50-2?
Man, calibrate your printer. You can see through the back of the lens holder at @1:23
Thats cool idea. Macro vlogging in ant colony or bee colony will be so much fun 😆
try the moment anamorphic lens, has better quality and sharpness
Nice use of 3D printing
Some Chinese guy taking notes on it ✍️✍️
Cool! :)
Keep up the good work
💚

How did you remove the back plate 1:10? ...Pry with flat head screwdriver?
Brutal force !
Always fun, creative concepts!
the absolute mad lad
i can't make, but i feel happy to watching your videos
Just out here casually inventing lenses Hollywood will probably use in future movies. Epic dude.
Hey there, great job. Could you post the link for the 1.33 adapter and maybe even put the blueprint for the Probe Lens adapter online? That would be fantastic. Best wishes
Question to anyone who knows anything about this setup. I actually got one of these, and I tried using it on a full frame camera with an industar 50-2. It actually works and gives full coverage, but the image is astoundingly soft everywhere but the corners. Anybody happen to know what could be up with that? I figure a good bet would be trying it with other tiny, wider full frame lenses. Next attempt will be with a lomo t43, but there's a good chance it's something else.
You need to close the lens down to f4 minimum if you want some ok sharpness
@@MathieuStern oh awesome! Lomo t43 seems like the right choice then. That you so much you absolute god
Cool idea!!! But the extra small aperture is kind of the weak point :-/
but it's like putting a square peg in a round hole and trying to get a rectangular ball out of it - so it's a great result in any case!
I am very disappointed… Because I can’t mark more than one like to this video!)))
Cutting an orange in half before peeling it is the most disturbing thing I’ve seen in a while😂 I love your weird lense videos!
That is fucking awesome. Are there any adapters (or ways to adapt) something like this to the Laowa 65mm macro lens?
What probe lens and what anamorphic lens? Links please.
How in the heck did you get that back-plate off!!! I have a couple of those, wanted to mod one for GoPro on Drone, and that dang plate will not bedge.
massive muscles I have :)
@@MathieuStern Just pryed off? No tools needed,..... hrm,... I have two, one still in box, worth the risk!
This is super cool!
Very cool
Would a diopter help with the soft image you were getting?
Or is that just the lens being soft
This makes me really want to see if this kind of thing would work with one of those little camera lenses from the disposable Kodak. I think it definitely would. I still never got around to buying one yet so I could test.
Could I buy a 3D printed case from you?
Nice work
Any trick to remove back plate because it is jot coming out??
just pull
@@MathieuStern not working on ulanzi 1.33x anamorphic
Nice. I make my own macro lenses for my smart phone.
That thing's wild! I love it!
anamarco should be the name of the lens lol
Great work!
Excellent, Mathieu, many thanks!! And I love that short film at the beginning, it is awesome, hehe. 😆
Thanks a lot!
Nice!
Nice idea. And nice watch in your wrist.
Thats not my wrist :))
Firrrsssstttt
