Belle’s character demise is probably my biggest problem with these stupid sequels. What I love about Belle in the original film is that she’s kind, but she has her limits. She doesn’t take any of Gaston’s crap and she certainly doesn’t take any of the Beast's. In fact, she’s the first person to tell him to his face when he’s being an asshole and that’s what makes him realize that he has to work on changing himself for the better if he wants to become human again. In the sequels she’s such a doormat and it pisses me off!
Yeah the enchanted Christmas ranks Nr 1 on my awful Disney sequel list. I didn't even watch magical world (or whatever the heck it's called). In fact I made a point of not watching any more Disney sequels period. Except rescuers. But that one doesn't count because it was a proper movie with a theatrical release. Plus it's awesome :)
The sad thing about this is that this movie could've been good. We could've seen more of their time together (before the spell broke) and it would've been interesting to see somebody who doesn't want the spell to be broken. But we got a half-baked attempt.

Totally agree about Belle, she was the first proactive Disney Princess. The first who didn't fall in love at first sight, and who fought back and wasn't naive. Yet this and it seems Belle's magical world make her into a doormat. Boo!! That seems to happen to all the heroines in sequels.
bellamovie2 Actually, I may have to disagree with you on 101 Dalmatians II and Kronk's New Groove. I mean, I really don't see a problem with 101 Dalmatians II, aside from the fact that almost all of the dalmatians were barely 101 and that Pongo and Perdita barely do anything in the film. But, for a good reason though. I mean, think of it from Patch's perspective in the movie, to him, he doesn't feel like he's a part of a big family, he literally feels like he should be his own pup, if you know what I mean. I mean really, if you were Patch, you could relate to how he feels about having to be a part of a bigger family with like less than 10 siblings. Plus, I actually liked the relationship that Patch had with Thunderbolt. They kinda remind me of Darkwing Duck, Launchpad McQuack and Gosalyn only, it's just two dogs. Plus, Martin Short's character was actually pretty funny in that movie. So, I don't see why people have such an issue with 101 Dalmatians II, I just think it's underrated compared to the majority of all direct-to-DVD Disney sequels. Kronk's New Groove?! Well....I thought it was okay. Not as good as first one, but it is better than the TV show, "The Emperor's New School." Oh and Tarzan and Jane kinda served as like a "TV Pilot" for the animated, "The Legend of Tarzan." That's about it. Great opening song. "You shaped most of my childhood, yes you mean a lot to me". I think that sums up how we feel. I was lucky to have been a 90s kid, Seeing the newest Disney films was always a highlight. We went every year.

This movie is hilariously bad, and this Belle gets on my nerves no end! I love the review. It's good as usual, but I have one nitpick. You mention that the Christmas angel is called Angelique and that the enchantress has "A lame sense of humour", but you haven't looked at the names of the other servants in the original. I mean, the others have names relating to the objects they are, too, so it's kind of unfair to count it against this one when the first movie had the same puns.

Wow!!!! You know....that really doesn't say much considering that the first Beauty and the Beast film was being criticized about Belle developing Stockholm Syndrome. So, basically, your opinion about hating the first film by disliking and watching the sequel is just irrelevant.

I'm curious as to why Chip didn't know what Christmas was. Okay maybe he WAS actually Jewish but if not, he was a human once right? Why did he question the holiday as if he was from an alternate world?
Do you realize that there is so many Disney sequels that was made in 1998 like: the Lion King 2, Hercules Zero to Hero (which I havent realized) and many others you already have reviewed.
If you guys thought this one was bad, you aint seen nothing yet! "Belle's Magical World" is actually WORSE than this one! And Jesse, you think you can review "Magical World", please? What are you reviewing? You're right about Belle, that's why despite what some people miss,about BatB is Belle doesn't warm up until he becomes more "human". Beauty and the Beast is one of my favourite Disney movies, it has a special place having seen the musical twice. ROFL at calling Belle "Bella" I'm not a TWilight fan, the idea of a woman being in a fetal position over a guy. . .huge turn off!
