It's surreal how clear it is. I know of the tragic circumstances which are driving many of you to this video yet I have to say the river with it water is a great experience!
What may not be obvious in the video - the water level was really low. I swam most of the distance (pretty cold, not for everybody) and I kept bumping into rocks. We had a problem with one of our two boats deflating and had to stop on a river bank to reinflate it. The maybe 10-15cm water on parts of that bank made it nearly impossible to stand, can wipe an adult from his feet. I'd not believe it if I had not experienced it. Even with a boat, this is only recommended for good swimmers who are used to such rough conditions and know about the dangers of such waters. Even a life vest may be a good idea. Also again let me point out the water is rather cold with typical temperatures of 18°C in August resulting in danger of muscle craps for those who dare to swim or somehow end up in the water. I learned about the recent tragedy through another viewer's comment :-( Have you travelled on the Aare yourself?
Un bello país con gente muy conservadora. Felicidades Suiza.
