- The 84-year-old, named only as Klaus-Dieter F. due to local privacy laws, kept the Panzer and the 88mm flak gun in a bunker under his home in Heikendorf, close to the northern city of Kiel. Klaus-Dieter admitted breaching the War Weapons Control Act and was handed a 14-month suspended prison sentence and ordered to pay 250,000 euros (£213,000). As well as the tank and cannon, he was also in possession of a torpedo, a mortar, 70 assault rifles and over 2,000 rounds of ammunition.

He paid for the tank.
He had a certificate from the government to prove the gun can't fire live rounds.
What's the problem?
eu backwards leaders, thats the problem
i dont know man 😕
Germany
He hadn't enough certificates, german moment
Museums giving the government more money than this man
i don't see anything wrong there! he even repainted it and there are no visible swastikas or nazi insignia at all. that tank is part of history and i hope it will stay in europe and be fully restored
Its not about the Nazis I believe that you have to have some sort of permits to be about to house a tank. Or its just that its illegal weapons.
It's nout about Nazis. The dude had a bunch of live ammunition and an 88mm AA gun as well.
I think it's dumb that it has to go to these lengths when it's obvious the guy wasn't any kind of psycho but oh well.
@@luisurdiales3091 I do agree. I don't think it was ok to have live ammunition. But on the other hand I do hope that the tank is not scraped.
As I understand he bought it and restored it from the British who built it from left over parts for testing after WW2 - so the German goverment really don't have any claim on it. It's weapons were disabled. Everyone knew he had it - locals remember him using it in a snowstorm in the 1970's. It just made great news dragging it out (managing to damage it in the process).
really ? 84 old years man ? im quit sure, he was in Wermaht
Poor old man. He’s just a collector. Would they think he would go to war?
Because it is Germany
Exactly he was just collecting
And what would he do whit a tank whit no tracks
@@WorldwarIIProductionsand a tank that can't shoot.

Give this old man his tank back 😢😡
We can't do anything, thats the government said.
L Germany, the man hasn’t done anything. He deserves his tank.
Wax, ff zx o😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
This man is a hero and saved one of the greatest ww2 tanks in history.
Hope it will go to a museum, the man should be awarded to keep it in a mint condition.
nope, they fined him 250000€. bastards

I wish for him he get it back it is his tank they outright just stole it from him its a prestine condition and original phanter tank and probably worth up to 25000000€

LET HIM KEEP HIS TANK
Shame the way that tank was dragged away as if the owner stopped paying instalments.
On the wheels to nonetheless get it a pair of tracks first or reman the wheels 😢
The guy could have opened his own museum!
He did
Did he get his tank back?
This makes me sad...poor man. An innocent man, taking excellent care of rich history being sentenced and fined at 84...shame, shame, shame. Whoever turned him in, there's a special place for you...
He wasn't turned in, I don't think. The police raided his house since it was rumored to have stolen Nazi artwork. They didn't find any art, but they did find the tank.
Give his tank back😡😡😡😡😡😡
The coolest granddad in town 😊😂
It disgusts me the disrespect that they took it from him, despite him owning it legally for all these years.
So man owned a private museum collection and the government punished him for that?
Convicted an 84 year old man? How embarrassing
1:08 I can't help but cringe at this. Idk if it's harming the wheel, but it just doesn't look OK for them to be dragging the tank without tracks over concrete. The thing works, just puts the tracks on and drive it out! Stop!
I cringed at that too!! They could have put a couple of layers of wood planks down for it to turn on or SOMETHING other than dragging the rubber on the road wheels sideways in the turn on concrete 😟
@@scottsmith1386 Unfortunately they don't care, just trying to make their liberal enlightened point that tanks and weapons are all bad.
@@scottsmith1386 they had tracks they just didn't put it on
@@hunterbear2421 the steel tracks were disassembled from the tank to preserve a renewable road, at the same time to damage a legally preserved unrenewable rare legally owned private property. That's just, saddening.
@@Eagerston thankfully it's not too damaging, i just hope they didn't scrap it.
It was just in his basement
Why sentence him??
🙄
Money and control and manipulation by those purportedly there to represent you modern Pharisees
Whats wrong with having a tank in his basement
“What’s wrong with owning a war crime”

As a German, I can comfirm we hide our tanks in our basements.
let him keep it is his panzer.
You'll never know when you're going to need one.
Not like he could exactly drive it to the local coffee shop.
Man probably enjoyed his beers in that thing every day, poor guy, wish they let him keep it
What's wrong with keeping a tank underneath your garage? Didn't even have treads on it where's hegonna go with it
It kills me watching them drag it out on the rims
Grandpa also own an original 88mm cannon
Who got rich from possession of the tank. Those are worth millions of dollars
I’m sure he had it to keep his Mother In Law away, leave the man alone😂
Wow I think he should have been given an award.
Old man: * commits no crime
The law: * "That's illegal! "
They should pay him..
That's was well preserve artifact..
What a shame
So who is going to arrest him ?
I won’t the guy has a fking tank
Now i understand why my ancesters left a long time ago.
The Panther was stored in the BASEMENT and had NO tracks. WTF, Deutschland
Meanwhile in the US
A random person: *buy f16*
US gov: Congrats! you got an extra balistic missile as a bonus
Ballistic missile? I don’t get it
Germany disarming the poor citizen and no one is like wait this seems familiar.
Now the way for a tyrannical government is paved.
who ratted my boy out
Nah let that poor man the tank in the basement. he treated the tank Better than in a Museum
He was only a kid when WWII happened so there's no way he was a veteran
I see no issue with this man having his tank.
More persecution of the innocent
So he got everything back correct?
In America everyone can own a armed tank but some old man owning a tank in his basement in germany is suddenly bad.
They stole it from him
Bro was trying to commence Steiners counter attack 😭 💀
omfg 😭
2 BIG Questions.. 1: How did he get it in his basement? was the house built around it? Also 2: How did they get it out of the basement? did they blow up his house?
Everyone in town knew, he had this stuff. It bothered no one, not even the local authorities, who knew it since 1984...
Das ist noice Panzer

Wow, that guy is cool
What did they think: "Hey, he's going to hold up a 7-11 using this thing?"
Germany doesn’t have 7-11s
Who snitched on my man Hans??
It was his tank. Statuette of limitations or government agreement. What a gorgeous machine.
Poor old collector; would anybody think he would go to war?
Bro was ready for round 3
Cmon dude, give him back his tank
Fr, Let him Keep His Tank
victimless crime... he didn't hurt nor plan to hurt anyone. He collected a very cool historical object. But I guess "you'll own nothing and be happy" in this day and age...

a tank without tracks and an 84 year old man goes to prison. What a shame ?
he is 84 why take away his tank? if he dies, sure, but let him keep it as logn as he lives, why would you take away his lifework?
The guy should be paid for the damage they did with the tank.
He pimped it out and removed all the Nazi and ethno-nationalist crap from the exterior. Nicely done
That is what you call a barn find.
Remember seeing this tank in Hardwicks scrap metal yard in Cox Lane Chessington Surrey England in the mid 1960's. They bought it for scrap but none of their cutting equipment could cope.
is that a panther? is so i'm dead
Yes. It's a Panther.
"This belongs in a museum"
the war is over, the britsh are allowed, the british are allowed tanks on the road, why aren't german ones? also £213k is over the top extreme.
How did they found out?

I don't see a problem, it was his tank
I bet after loading the tank, they were tanked
I am so glad I was born in the US. I mean look, I love Germany and it’s many cultures (bavarian culture is my favorite) but the idea that a central government can just be like “hey, I see that you own this piece of property, and that’s TOTALLY FINE… if weren’t for the fact that it meets this criteria, therefore you’re not allowed to own it anymore and we’re going take it from you and there’s absolutely nothing you can do about it… plus we’re going to prosecute you in criminal court, cause… we can, LOL”…….. is quite off putting, to say the very least.
I’m more concerned on how he managed to get his hands on a f**cking panther tank when like 99% of them are destroyed
Transmission is probably working fine too.
the biggest flex to share but
give it back to the old man
Didn't they recently give like 11 people involved in a gang rape a light sentence
Brooo give him his tank back!
Der Panzer wurde an seinen Besitzer zurückgegeben
Like did he stash it then build the house.
Let him keep it!
Mahn, give him his tank back
Please tell me they put it in a museum such a pretty tank and he must have been heart broken, did you see how clean the tank was it had no Nazi swastikas on it. He clearly cared for this tank. I just want to know that they did not scrap it.
i feel bad for that man, imagine having panther and other ww2 era weaponry in your basement and government fucks you up for that...........
Government these days😐
Should have thanked him for keeping it
"Tanked him!"
i like when bundeswehr lifted up the german wehrmacht tank
I see nothing wrong with it, wish I had it.
Germany laws are very complicated
What a time capsule.
How did he keep a Panther hidden for so long 😭
Not the 88mm flak cannon then it was tiger tank or 8,8 cm flak 36
where did all the items end up?
01:39, a lot of neighbor watching, they should hide theirs properly.
Very lame taking the guys tank. It will probably rust in a museum now
He should not have been fined, the property.they seized covered the bill
Why are they taking his tank
Give his tank back >:(
