Have been listening to your songs here the last few days - feels like I'm taking much needed vitamins. So good.
This autoplayed after the Simon and Garfunkel...and as I was out in the sunny garden...I thought...that's nice of the algorithm to play Tracy Chapman after the fellas. Came back in the house and saw that.....it was indeed the fellas! Uncanny vocal X-Mennery.
Why has it taken me all this time to discover this group? Wonderful rendition.
You guys are a total joy, thank you so much xx
I loved the accordian. Not something I ever imagined myself saying. This was excellent!
💎

Getting around this song’s phrasing really requires Tracy’s vibrato. You’ve got it, kid! 👍🏻

He's a bit knackered after a few centuries of being Blackadder.
Nice

You got a fast car
I want a ticket to anywhere
Maybe we'll make a deal
Maybe together we can get somewhere
Any place is better
Starting from zero got nothing to lose
Maybe we'll make something
Me myself I got nothing to prove
You got a fast car
I got a plan to get us out of here
I been working at the convenience store
Managed to save just a little bit of money
Won't have to drive too far
Just 'cross the border and into the city
You and I can both get jobs
And finally see what it means to be living
You got a fast car
Is it fast enough so we can fly away?
We gotta make a decision
Leave tonight or live and die this way
So remember when we were driving, driving in your car
You were speeding so fast I felt like I was drunk
City lights lay out before us
And your arm felt nice wrapped 'round my shoulder
And I, I had a feeling that I belonged
I, I had a feeling that I could be someone
Had a feeling that I could be someone
See my old man's got a problem
He live with the bottle that's the way it is
He says his body's too old for working
His body's too young to look like his
My mama went off and left him
She wanted more from life than he could give
I said somebody's got to take care of him
So I quit school and that's what I did
You got a fast car
We go cruising, entertain ourselves
You still ain't got a job
And I work in a market as a checkout girl
I know things will get better
You'll find work and I'll get promoted
We'll move out of the shelter
Buy a bigger house and live in the suburbs
You got a fast car
Is it fast enough so we can fly away?
You gotta make a decision
Leave tonight or live and die this way
So remember when we were driving, driving in your car
You were speeding so fast I felt like I was drunk
City lights lay out before us
And your arm felt nice wrapped 'round my shoulder
And I, I had a feeling that I belonged
And I, I had a feeling that I could be someone
Had a feeling that I could be someone
Be someone
Had a feeling that I could be someone
yes.
I almost lived this song. 😟
What was that last bit? I understood that the guy the lady married was too much like her father, so did she give him the choice to leave?
She said "YOU gotta make a decision...", so I assume so?????
You guys are great but, why did you neglect to play half of the guitar part?
cool
Awesome! (Make sure to read that in a British accent.)
So funny I just says this guy sounds like David grey had a baby with Tracy Chapman and boom a Tracy Chapman song!
briljant
Why arent you famous
So I guess no one is going to talk about the accordion at 3:29?
The first rule of accordion mash-ups is you do not talk about accordion mash-ups.
On "The Only Living Boy in New York" it is as sweet as can be.
better than the original in my opinion
No one comments that although all the other musicians have learned their parts, the vocalist relies on lyrics on his laptop.
