During the American invasion of Panama in 1989, Nicaraguan terrorist Raul Menendez tricks CIA operative Frank Woods (Damon Victor Allen) into killing his teammate and best friend Alex Mason, while Menendez also kills their handler Jason Hudson after crippling Woods. Not long after, their fellow operative Russell Adler (Bruce Thomas) is framed as one of Menendez's moles in the agency, and is forced to go rogue. In 1991, amidst the outbreak of the Gulf War, Adler re-emerges by sending a cryptic message to Woods, warning him of the existence of a clandestine force called "Pantheon", which has infiltrated the highest levels of the CIA and branded anyone who resists them as traitors to the United States. This forces Woods and his protégé Troy Marshall (Y'lan Noel) to also go rogue and assemble a team of agents, including ex-Stasi technical genius Felix Neumann (Seamus Dever), assassination specialist Sevati "Sev" Dumas (Karen David), and CIA operative William "Case" Calderon, to assist them in preventing Pantheon from deploying an apocalyptic weapon.
He's the only one playing his part correctly: an ex-soldier turned spy. Woods and Mason were just soldiers in suits, while Hudson was more of a cop than a spy. It's kind of funny how they based him off Robert Redford's spy character.
It's funny that the CIA has been 'compromised' how many times now? This cold/black ops Call of Duty series has great villains like Perseus, Dragovich, etc., along with some plot twists. And yet, the U.S. was finally beaten by a random Latino cartel from Nicaragua called Raul Menendez.
The United States of America has had and continues to have great enemies such as the Soviet Union, Nazi Germany, Imperial Japan, Russia, China, Iran, North Korea. But they were defeated by bearded men wearing turbans and flip-flops in Afghanistan. Why would the story of the US being defeated by a Latin drug cartel from Nicaragua be too much of a fantasy in the Black Ops series? Hahaha Lol
Is it just me or does Marshall’s character have the most drop dead gorgeous CGI I’ve ever seen in a video game? It literally looks like a real person in some shots.
I really like Case as a protagonist. A very interesting backstory, but also the classic "No face" soldier like we got with the classic Call of Duty games. Too bad Mason isn't here anymore, He and Case woulda been a force to be reckoned with together
Sadly reboot Price wouldn’t work since his new DOB puts him at 6 years old during Desert Storm. MacMillan is possible, we don’t have any kind of info on his age so could be one his first big operations since he’d still be active in the late 2000s/2010s. Yes, I’ve put too much thought into this.
If BO II is still canon, I'm not so sure the reboot MW timeline and the BO timeline are connected. That would put MW III and BO II only 2 years apart, which wouldn't add up at all, would it? And yes, I know Zakhaev was in Cold War, I don't really have an explanation for that.
Yep, that downed chopper was clearly the harpoon we used, alongside that hallway that we explored as Harrow in the hallucinations being the staircase to the place where Sergey died.

Great video as usual GLP. These new CoD campaigns really make me miss the old MW campaigns though, where it’s not all super hero characters. Playing as a regular ass marine or Ranger was so much fun and somehow seemed much more real.
It was actually a lot of fun to play and much different than other Call of Dutys, but I do agree with you to a point. COD4 and MW2 in particular are just magical so I have a lot of nostalgia for them too. Those big set piece missions as part of a the larger force were special. To be fair to be BO6, the whole Black Ops franchise was always different from the MW campaigns, so not like I was expecting this one to feel like the MW series. But I must say, I liked the missions a lot of in this game so take that for what it's worth. What I don't love as much is how far the story is straying into science fiction territory. I prefer them when they're rooted in realism.

Just finished the whole series. Black Ops 6 was definitely an amazing entry. I always routed for the villains in most CoD games, always. Pantheon makes this something straight from a Metal Gear plot. But truthfully, I want to see more of Menendez appear in the flesh in these games more. The likes of Menendez, Makarov and Perseus and now Harrow will always be my faves.
Dude that thing Livingstone says at 10:42 gave me some sad vibes. By 1991, the Cold War was pretty much over. High tensions were pretty much non existent at that point. The USSR still existed but was weakening and would begin to disintegrate beginning in August 1991, just months after this game takes place. That line reminds me of James Bond Goldeneye. When he finds out that Janis is Alex, and Alex says how they are both relics of an old era, a time when the west and east were in a kind of war. That movie was set in 1995, 4 years after the USSR had collapsed, meaning that Bonds purpose had decreased, as a major threat wouldn’t be communism. The intro to the movie symbolized the end of the Cold War, and the scene where Bond meets Alex, you see Stalin, Lenin and hammer/ sickle statues and other communist symbols, representing the fall of it in Eastern Europe. This is what that line reminds of, and it’s sad how Woods is kind of treated like shit after all he went through, losing his best friend and partner Alex Mason, losing the ability to walk thanks to Menendez, being stranded in Vietnam for 4 years. Being captured by Menendez, and watching his men tortured and killed right in front of him. And when you thought he wouldn’t get hit any harder, he’s given a lousy office job or something due to his injury. What this man went through feels like it was all for nothing and when Livingstone says he and Adler are relics of a bygone era really cements that.
