Good one RNG..... you get the benefit of fresh fish curry with pepper and mango. Can't get over the coffee color of the Atlantic along Guyana foreshore.... brings back memories.
It's the Atlantic Ocean and the fish we were catching are called Catfish. Yes you are correct , this species do not grow much bigger than the ones we caught. This is close to shore, about 20 minutes.
@@RealNiceGuyana They look awesome with how long their fins are. Is there a larger species of salt water catfish there? Some of our freshwater species get truly huge such as the flat head catfish in the US. I've seen 60 to 80 pound sized fish. Channel cat and blue cat get fairly large too. Bullheads are small like the catfish you catch in the video.
Yes they are as you notice they have that blue color and they are delicious. There are two other species of Catfish in Guyana , one is similar to the US catfish and it is called Cuirass ( the scientific name is Sciades ( Arius) Proops ) it has the same color as the US Catfish too and it is caught close to shore ( google Guyana Cuirass and you will see it looks like the US one. There is another species big like the US Catfish too and it is called Gilbacker, scientific name is ( Sciades Parkeri ) this one is yellow in color and is one of the most expensive fish in Guyana. So basically there are two other species of catfish here , Cuirass being the cheapest and the Gilbacker being one of the most expensive. The one we caught in this video is called Catfish ( no other name and I did not see the scientific name anywhere .)
Reza nonsense !! , your comments are so absurd that it makes me think you are stupid and maybe you are. That's the size Catfish get to not much bigger than that. I am sure you don't know that. You seem to have a problem with everything from the way we fish from the way we cut up the fish the way we cook the fish, damn !!! You seem to be one miserable person, try to educate yourself and you will learn that we are not desperate like you think. We offer a meal to anyone that visits our home , there is an abundance of food in Guyana I can feed you and your family indefinitely for free. Don't try to bring down Guyanese because I take offense to that, I will respond, especially with all the lies you are posting here.

Wow, that is a huge river. Looks as expansive as ocean. Not real big fish like in North America or this species of catfish is just small in nature.
