La Mer was horrific on my skin. I tried the cream, the lip balm, the eye balm, the concentrate, the cleanser and the lotion. The only product I loved was the lip balm but even that seems to have some sort of different formula now. I had no interest in trying out Augustinus Bader until I received some samples in a goody bag. I gave the rich cream a go and was hooked from the first use. I finished the sample and bought the 50ml bottle. I have NEVER seen such a transformation in my skin as I have with using the rich cream. Never. And I am a skincare junkie who has tried probably most brands on the market. I also have the eye cream and find that to be amazing too. I didn’t want to be, but I am definitely an Augustinus Bader fan now. I’m going to try the cleanser and essence next.

Hi, I just read your comment and as a skincare junkie too, who is working in retail I do have access to every brand out there. I am a Sisley Paris hardcore fan, was working for them back in 2016 and they are the brand that I trust and love. What is your opinion about Sisley and have you tried their Sisleya range? But maybe I should switch to AB. Had their 5ml sample of The Rich cream and yeah, it's true it feels like really high-quality and futuristic anti-ageing skincare.

I love the smell of la mer, but the la mer specialist told me the crème is just for moisturizing, it has no anti aging benefits in it and that’s what their serum is for. I want to love la mer a lot because it smells so beautiful and love the name of it, except it does nothing for my skin in my 20s except leaving me large pores. It does make the skin feel soft though. Now my skin is dryer and I want to try it again.

I've used every luxury cream in this type of price range. All La Mer. Augustinus Bader is the best. My skin, looks best morning after Bader cream. I wanted La Mer to win that test for me, I still love La Mer...if you're not impressed by the Cream.. Compare the Augustinus Bader body cream, to the La Mer body cream..heh. You will be feeling more torn with your choice on La Mer. The Bader products are incredible.

This one is difficult because they both make GREAT night creams. I really think you only need one. I personally prefer the La Mer. Thanks for this review and the video. Quick question however, the La Mer cream was always been a bit off for me due to the fact the third ingredient is Petrolium Jelly. Whici I understand it help the texture you demontrate, however a derived petrol on my skin organ, I am not sure. What is your thought or opinion on the ingredient list?

    • @MorganTalksbeauty

I have not noticed a difference lately. But I will take note if I notice anything. I do know it works really well when you mix in facial oil with it if you think that could possibly work with your skin. The last product that La Mer reformulated was their Concentrate.

I’m relatively new to tour channel so forgive me if you’ve done a review or mentioned this before but I just recently found out that the Nivea creme (that comes in the little tin for about $3) is a dupe for the “hydration/ moisturizing” ingredients for the Creme De Le Mar. I’m curious what your thoughts are on this. Could you possibly do a review on this. It obviously doesn’t have the same long term effect b it I’m curious if you think that it does give you that hydration and glow that comes from the La Mer products.

Nivea isnt an actual dupe of La Mer. There are a lot of similar ingredients, similar smell and texture, etc. But not exactly. La Mer has the seaweed/algae formulation and is more cosmetically elegant and has more beneficial ingredients. La Mer is overpriced. I LOVE La Mer and use it but I'm not gonna pretend they aren't overpriced, and I dont buy it full-price. But still....Nivea creme is great as an occlusive but has nothing on La Mer as a facial moisturizer.

Hey, I’m from Vancouver originally. If I’d known the kelp beds were so close I would have harvested some myself. Lol
Anyhow, I can’t help but think that the cellular turnover of the AB’s TCF8 is no different than the cell turnover of retinol. I just don’t see the difference, and I find the explanations from AB’s marketing material a little vague.
I just love la Mer, so I’m sticking with it in my arsenal, but I’m open to using AB in the future, particularly if I find some definitive info on its efficacy.
