I think he unplugs because his battle isn’t won. Yet. 2 albums later he records Neon Gravestones. It’s worth a reaction. He frames the battle differently but life still has a hopeful undertone.
Great reaction! You catch a lot :) As you become more familiar with their work, you'll notice how the themes tie together. And that hopeful undertone weaves through a lot of their music. It's a thought-provoking juxtaposition - deep, meaningful lyrics and somber topics paired with upbeat, lively sounds. Both can exist at the same time. You may also notice how cycles play into their work sonically, visually, and metaphorically. Great stuff, can't wait for more! |-/ 💛
My daughter and I were in line for the Meet and Greet with Waterparks at the House of Blues in New Orleans. This song came on and the entire crowd was singing along. We both broke out in tears because TOP has helped both of us bond and deal with issues. I am SO thankful for TOP to help me realize that I AM not alone...with a great upbeat tune!
I think I have listened to between 10 to 15 songs from 21 pilots. Migraine is my favorite so far. I really appreciate that even though the lyrics are heavy everything else is upbeat 😊
Hey Zack, another great reaction. Second verse of this song is epic, the writing etc. eyelids islands violence, craziness. These guys don’t do anything by accident. Everything is done on purpose(unplug mic at end of video) and Tyler likes to leave open interpretations for people to think different thoughts about things. Little suggestion about being blocked, their label is tough sometimes. However, if u put a blocker on your screen to block the video so u can see it but we can’t, just do it. We’ve all seen the video 100s of times. This might help u get the video uploaded. This was perfect song to lead into “Car radio” or “guns for hands” from same album Vessel as migraine. Most songs on this album are about mental health so they all tie together. Personally I like when u break down the lyrics as you go. And us Pilots fans don’t mind a 15-20 minute reaction 😊. Anyway keep up the good work, I’ll be patiently awaiting the next upload. Happy Wednesday
Thanks I will check those out. I really don't like blocking videos, even if I have to jump through a couple hoops to get posted. Whereas you have seen it 100's of times, there may be others on my channel who found it via other content who haven't seen it at all, and I really dont want to rob them of that. If it keeps happening though, I'll have to entertain that.
Totally makes sense.. and I understand your train of thought.. their music videos are a big part of what makes them, exactly them. Most of them (especially early ones) are low budget but still have tons of meaning behind them
@@zack_reactsthanks! This seems to be a rare sentiment these days where everyone is just rushing to upload as much as possible. And you have a lot of good stuff to say. Thanks for that too!
I just found your channel looking for TØP reactions and I must say you are by far the best at interpreting and conveying the messages their songs are delivering. You definitely have a new subscriber. Love to watch you break down any and all of their songs in due time.
Yeah!! I like to think he stops because it is unfinished. The day, the life, the thought, the end is not over. We finish the sentence. Our decision determines how the sentence ends. Great reaction!
You should also check out some of their live performances, especially “Holding Onto You,” “Goner,” and “Trees” from Live at Fox Theater. You might have an easier time with copyright claims and that entire concert is fantastic.
I really love your interpretation of the messages in all your reactions. I align with 99% of it. With this one particularly, I think he unplugs because it ISN’T done, the ending I open still and there is no conclusion. Both life and the battle aren’t over, there is more to be said.
Not sure if the movie playing under the video is going to help or hurt the upload? Just a thought that came to mind? ❤️ Love tøp and happy to watch with you as soon as RUclips shows me videos LOL
Just to say, for the record, Tyler has never given a positive message about suicide. Their songs that address the issue always contain hope, so yes when he says "sometimes to stay alive you've gotta kill your mind" he is saying kill those negative thoughts. Another song from this same album 'Guns For Hands' has the same theme. Also good job picking up the Christian themes. Tyler and Josh are both Christians and especially in the early albums there are a lot of themes around Tyler's struggle with his faith and feeling unworthy but still reaching out to God. It had never occured to me that the 'letters by my bed' could be referring to Pauls letters! I've also wondered if the long SSSSSS in 'depresssssing thoughts' is the sound of the serpent.
For some reason my comments keep disappearing 😕 so I’ll make it a shorter one I love your Ren reactions and somehow I missed that you started going down the TOP rabbit hole 🕳️ 🐇 Ren and TOP are my 2 favorites! Sorry you are having a hard time with the copyright blocks. It’s so annoying. Actually this one is much older. It was from Vessel, which just celebrated its 10th anniversary 🎉 It’s a fantastic album. It’s quite common for Tyler to pair deep lyrics with an uplifting beat. His word play and flow are fantastic. There are usually layers of meaning and messages of hope. “Sometimes to stay alive you gotta kill your mind” is a powerful lyric. Yes he often refers to the need to stop overthinking - at least snapping out of the downward spiral of negative thoughts.
Also the lyrics of this song play into what we refer to as the “lore.” There is a narrative / storyline that technically begins with Blurryface (the next album), but he pulls some of the symbolism and imagery from this song. Their next album will conclude the storyline. I’m excited!
they are both Christians, so you will find some religious undertones buried in metaphors in their music - especially their earlier music this is a fan favorite - 10 years ago this was still sort of a taboo issue (mental health) - i'm wondering if this was released today it would be more mainstream, with mental health awareness being much more mainstream some good songs from this album to react to (Vessel) - Ode to Sleep (official video sort of gives a story on how they came up) - Holding On To You (can either do music video or their live performance at Fox Theater) - Trees (Live from Fox Theater)

Yes! Neon Gravestones Live from BBC Radio 1 is very powerful. Just Tyler on piano.
I’ve subbed for more tøp - please continue the dive down the tøp rabbit hole, subject to RUclips allowing you!
21 pilots and Ren have got too be 2 of the best artists of our time
One of my favorites

You catch more than I've seen a reaction to top. Subbed

Definitely need to do "Guns for Hands" now!

Letters by his bed are suicide notes
Love this song and band. Great reaction bro but I got super distracted by Endgame in the background LOL
Lane Boy✌️😊🌼
The MUTEMATH version ;)
Oh yeah!!!

Much appreciated. I'm still learning 🙂
@@zack_reacts I posted 2 links on your Nico and the Niners video that I think will help answer some questions. Love the reactions man.
My favorite version of this is the Live Room…so good.

Recommending Trees+speech live at Fox theater
A lot of others reactors to twenty one pilots mask the music video and seem to do ok with copyright claims.
I never picked up the letters beside his bed as being the Bible. Great observation.
If you think about his songs and the wording, he is obviously depressed. As someone who lives with depression I understand
Not sure if the movie playing under the video is going to help or hurt the upload? Just a thought that came to mind? ❤️ Love tøp and happy to watch with you as soon as RUclips shows me videos LOL
Live reactions seem to go through easier I think

some good songs from this album to react to (Vessel)
- Ode to Sleep (official video sort of gives a story on how they came up)
- Holding On To You (can either do music video or their live performance at Fox Theater)

Did you watch TheThirdErnest’s reaction video before you did this? Not throwing shade just wondering because there’s a lot of similarities lol
Please stop with all the "uhhh" and "ummm" after EVERY sentence. It is super distracting! Otherwise, cool reaction.
Yeah, I didnt notice how bad that habit was until I started watching myself. Been working on it
The Bible refers to dying to the flesh daily so that the spirit of the Lord can be made manifest in us
