for anyone that didn't already know....the Grandmother has some hidden little PCB art that you can only see if you completely dissemble the synth. I found them when I repaired mine. Things like a small ladder where the filter is at, a small cake mixer for the audio mixer and other fun stuff. Such a cool synth.
I had a blast screwing around with this recently & the Sub 37 at a Sam Ash lol They had the other version, but as much as I've been into wearing black in my wardrobe these days, this one is just SOOOO aesthetically pleasing to me. I legit daydream of how beautiful it would look in my setup 😁😁The color scheme & layout really reminds me of these toy electronics kits Radio Shack had when I was a little kid haha
Sounds so good. Think I'm going to get one. I want an out of the box, fantastic sounding synth that can work with Eurorack. Changing up my modular set-up. Bought a Pitsburgh Taiga. Not doing it for what I want at all. Back in love with Grandmother ............. Eeewwwwwww!!! :D
The Grandmother is amazing. I have several Minimoogs over my time but this is very close to it. I am now lucky enough to own the Matriarch also and what a joy. Will be very interested in what you do with your GM and your eurorack.
I was about to buy it because looks so colorful and beautiful but after watching many videos I noticed that its only one sound the same Square sound and just with effects. I cant’ find a video where I can listen different sounds, it’s the same square, I hope im wrong.
Ahh good synth but i can’t stand raw pulsewaves so this was a bit much :D then the fm on top and i was done xD but nevertheless that’s what you gotta do for a demo i guess..
Im a guitarist cant play piano and know nothing about synths but im getting one i know that!! Might need some help, love clockwork orange sound, its just got that 70s sound on movies and music like uriah heap, floyd etc
@@u.b.469 Wow, thanks a lot! Really helpful, the thing is I was more thinking in a dawless live scenario, what could I possibly use instead in that case? (Thanks a lot really).

Best demo I've seen of the Grandmother, really shows the sweetness of tone and range of sounds of this synth.
My first synth and I am never getting rid of it! Also the gateway drug into my modular obsession. Great video as always!
This was my first synth, I love it. Perfect gateway into eurorack, too!
Such a great product.
Not outrageously expensive, yet so versatile.
Gotta love that packaging mack
Maybe this Xmas I get one 🤩
"Cause a Grandmother loves to be patched", lol 😂
Looks like an absolute blast

Enjoyed this - really considering getting one!
Great and I really like the sound too. I'm liked moog synths
You're gonna love it!
Love this generation of Moogs. If you ever want to borrow my Matriarch to do some content, just hit me up. This is Drew from the CC events and such.
I love the grandmother ! It’s addictive !!!
Definitely on my list…I was going to be cheap and get the Model-15, but after watching this…I don’t know.
You’ll LOVE IT!!!!!!!

I seem to hear people saying that this can do retro Minimoog sounds better than the Subsequent 37 can
Sounds like Snes soundtracks 🤌
NEW SYNTH DAY!
Hey JAde - welcome to the Grandma Club 👍 😊
Great synth
I love mine!
I agree its better to connect input to output. Out to out doesn't make any sense. Cheers
DigDug vibes at 6:20 haha

What until you connect with the Moog Mother -32 and Drummer From Another Mother (DFAM) and the Subharmonicon!!
Guys please someone help me when you pressing any key do you hear small hiss ground noise ?
The noise knob is probably up a bit. Third knob on the mixer.
Youre so cute. This is great. I have a Grandma i love her. I still have no clue how to patch anything though.
Don't try, it could blow the synthesizer if back patched wrong

I went the dark version, if you think that’s an interesting synth, wait until you get your hands on a matriarch. 🤯
They should have called the two options Retro/Emo.
How do you get it to loop back at you like that? Are you looping it in your DAW?
built-in arp/sequencer
Does someone knows if there is a way to set the sequencier/arp to an specific BPM Value?.
Great video Jade, as always basically. Thanks!
You would need to connect the usb in back of the grandmother to a computer, have a DAW and use midi sync. The arp will run at the bpm set in the DAW

@@juanperezaurethere should be a way to convert the bpm to Hz but I don’t know the conversion value, sorry. Bet you could google that easily tho
Just googled it and apparently you just have to divide the tempo by 60 and you get the value in Hz
Did Crystal castles use a moog?
most expensive ugly sounding maschine
I've owned real Moogs... no thank you.
what is not real about it?
first?
