A few months ago, I began hearing murmurs of a village eatery in Byrapura, Hassan district that seemed to be garnering patrons for its wood-fired biryani and dishes served in a rustic setting. Although only three years old, Umesh Gowda’s Namma Hallimane seems to be emerging as ‘the stop’ for travellers around here mostly for his mutton delicacies, I discovered when I stopped by for lunch.

Good evening dear Kripal - At the outset I would like to pray for the well being of the folks who got injured in the Rameshwaram Cafe 🙏 Had a function to attend this afternoon. Anyways back home to watch your vlog . Namma Halli Mane is the name of the village based restaurant. I don’t think anyone in SM got the right answer 👍 My favourite part ; the kitchen tour 👍 Love to note the owner’s passion to serve high quality dishes towards customer satisfaction 👍👍 All the dishes looks spicy 🌶️ ( possibly it’s due to the red chilli powder ) . The ambience is quite homely and now time for savouring the dishes 👍 The Idlis look super soft and would be a fab combo with the boti and gravy 😋 I was sure that you would find the dishes to be a tad spicy 😀 Chicken kebab with green chutney and looks like you just about “liked” it . Oh I get it they are well known for their mutton dishes as compared to the chicken dishes . That’s a great candid review . Next your favourite Kaima Unde and you weren’t disappointed 👍 The could have some additions like Neer Dosa , Paratha which could give a different culinary experience with the side / main dishes . That’s well said “ Mark of respect for the Biryani” and hence served on a new Banana leaf plate 👍 The Biryani is piping hot and I could sense the waft of the aroma in Mumbai 😃 Looks like the MB has hit the spot 👌👌 Bisi Bisi mutton Saaru has been served by Umesh . He is so proud of his establishment and dishes 👍👍 This is a great place to hang out with family and friends 👍 I love a Hot Rasam Rice with some Applam 😀 Thanks for your final candid comments on your top picks 💯💯💯 Is it a Sambhar or a Curry gravy ? We are a nation of tatti, we have great serving food and cuisine but these places should also have the best toilets, we can do that we will be a better generation. Focusing on food/ tatti is not worth it till there is some clean toilets. Please can you inform your clients to maintain this and improve their toilets besides the food
