    Thanks for a great video mate... I'm just putting a couple of cuttings in now (early winter here) and you have provided me with some good tips to follow. from outback Australia and my off-grid camp at Angledool.

    Thanks for your informative video. I live in Queensland Australia and have had my cactus in pots for many years. They flowered but fruiting hardly happened. We bought a farm and I planted my Peruvian apple cactus in the ground and it's only been a few months and they flowered and have given me some wonderful fruit. I guess they enjoy the soil and freedom of the garden bed while we enjoy the fruit.

    Welp I'm glad I subbed. I have shamefully been living in my new home for 2 years not realizing I have this 15ft beast producing edible fruit on occasion... And I'm trying to grow dragonfruit! So embarrassed.

    I have some king cup cactus in my yard that I'm thinking of fencing off to keep the rabbits away. Are there any differences in those fruits as far as when I should pick them? Just wait till they turn red? I'm in New Mexico outside of Albuquerque.

    I've had my Peruvian apple cacti cutting for 4 years, and it has not bloomed any flowers or fruits. It has grown "branches" or what I like to call "babies". How can I encourage my cacti to grow flower and fruit?

      2 ways: 1-thin out your fruits. 2-supplement water when cactus has fruit. No need to go crazy about it, just don't let it dry out for months!.

    I bought a house with this cactus i water and fertilize it. The flowers come out and bloom but then they turn black and fall off, is there anything i can do?

      That’s what mine does… This is normal behavior flowers only last a day or two and after they turn back and fall off you’ll see the fruit. If you dont see a fruit it may be because the flower need hand pollination…. Try it with one and see.

    How long does it take to grow fruit within a year or ??

    • @qctropicals
      @qctropicals  Год назад +1

      it needs to be fully rooted in order to fruit whether in a pot or in ground. In a pot, it takes about a year. In the ground, it can take up to 2 years.

      @@qctropicals 😂 bro. I read that you can " trick " the plant into thinking it's dying by giving it long dry spells. Seen a different video of new small dragon fruit cuttings flowering without growing new cactus. Wondering if a new cutting from Peruvian apple can be tricked flower

    My fruit never form what am I doing wrong

    • @qctropicals
      @qctropicals  Год назад +1

      How old is your plant? Many reasons why fruits don't fully develop: Not ideal conditions, didn't get pollinated, too hot, direct sun light, rain, etc, etc. You probably are not doing anything wrong. Life is not perfect, what you're experiencing is probably normal.
