      The fondant line can be a little tricky, it's a lot easier if you wait for it to dry a little before putting it on the cake!

    I love the way you put texture on the cake with the plastic wrap. Such a simple design but so beautiful. I'm glad you showed the proper way to put flowers on the cake. I've seen so many people just shove the flowers in the cake with no straw or wrapping. I loved when you opened your refrigerator door and I saw all those cakes. You definitely are a busy woman. If you ever need an apprentice remember I'm just 10 minutes away. Lol. Thank you for sharing and keep on caking 💜

    You make it look so easy!! Always learn something from your videos & love seeing the cakes! I never thought to use straws for the flowers & saran for that texture. Great tips!

    Thank you so much for your videos. I play them while I'm decorating. I always learn something new each time, and the last time I did a fondant cake I had "trace, cut, and smooth" playing on repeat in my head. lol! Thank you for sharing your pricing as well. That transparency is so important if we are to be paid our worth. You rock! Regarding this cake, I was wondering if it might make it a little easier to print the line drawing in reverse, lay down the string of fondant as you did, and then smoosh it against the cake with the fondant hanging onto the paper. Maybe a thin coat of shortening on the paper could hold it on until it transferred? Also, how do you get your strings of fondant to not break? Thank you.

      That would work as well! It may hold better if you adhere it to wax paper. And I make marshmallow fondant with Tylose powder added. The fondant can't be too dry or it will crack! Here's a video showing how I make it: ruclips.net/video/iTAzMgpJc9M/видео.html

    Love the cakes in the fridge! Can they stay unboxed until the customer picks them up? Is a week too long?

    • @KarolynsKakes
      @KarolynsKakes  2 месяца назад +1

      I keep my cakes in the fridge (unboxed) until I get pics of them, so they are usually in the fridge for 5-6 days unboxed. I like to box them up the day before pickup / delivery so they are ready to go!

    Beautiful al always!! How long did the cake sit in the fridge with the flowers added?

    • @KarolynsKakes
      @KarolynsKakes  2 месяца назад +2

      I put the flowers on an hour before pickup! With fresh flowers, I try to wait until the last minute to place them on there as they only last a few hours once they are out of water.

    I’ve made this with fondant and buttercream. I used the trace method to trace the line drawing onto buttercream. Then piped the line drawing on.
    Thanks for the tip about the flowers. 😊

      My hand is always shaky when piping, was it challenging to pipe this onto the cake?

    So fab thank you. Never thought of doing my own line cake. How long do fresh flowers last on the cake and where do you store it once the flowers are in please?

    • @KarolynsKakes
      @KarolynsKakes  2 месяца назад +1

      I put these flowers on about an hour before pickup. They will last a few hours on the cake before they start to wilt. Try to keep the cake as cool as possible. I stored it in the refrigerator after the flowers were added!
