Magic, magic, his method made me throw away 25 years of insane golf instruction, videos, etc. This is the holy grail. Thank you so much for your expert instrctulion.
I have been watching all ur videos. Was looking for driver vids. I can’t get off the tee box. I have adopted straight plane golf swing. Thanks love the vids
Same here. Wouldn’t even attempt driver off the tee box. But this method along with the jumbomax ultralight grip he uses, have me hitting driver again.
@@user-wm2zf8jp3g I agree. Been struggling with the driver till I got the jumbo max grips. Took 2 more trips to the range and today the driver was connecting very well.
Thanks Kirk, I think I've finally realized why I hit a pull hook, it's a combination of setup, grip and then not moving body correctly on the downswing. I have a tendency to drive the right leg which tilts my spine angle and gets my hands way on the inside, Going to try your instruction to turn the left side of body and straighten leg at impact.
@@Setup4Impact The low weak hook persists but I refuse to give up on this method. I saw a pro yesterday and he said to strengthen my grip and lower hands. It's all gone downhill. I'll have to save up and pay for your program. The early release isn't easy to fix.
Bonjour Kirk, s’il vous plaît, je suis dans l’apprentissage du swing de Moe Norman avec TGraves, votre enseignement me paraît cohérent, comment puis-je changer ma méthode pour voir avec vous sans comprendre l’Anglais? Most likely it is a grip problem, and not a hip turn problem. I almost never see too early or too much hip turn, but I do see too week of a grip in both hands very often.
I have been using this method and I hit pretty well (straight and long ) using irons. However, I hit to right with Driver. What changes do you recommend getting it straight. Can I use open stance to cure this?
I’d recommend to try hitting a few massive pulls from a very closed stance on the range to get the feel for a pull and then dial it back from there. You might just need to move your ball position a bit forward though. There is also a possibility that your hands are too far ahead of the club face at impact. If your grip isn’t really strong then the club face will have a tendency to be open. I haven’t seen your swing but if you’re hitting low pushes then you might be doing this. Disclaimer I am not a pro golfer but I used to hit high push slices with my driver so badly until I did what I mentioned above.
I had a good session last saturday with the Driver and as soon as I set my distance to where the trail arm couldn't stretch further, grip leading, face square, the whole thing just went a lot better. I might hit a pull, but the slice was out with grip adjustments. Looking forward to next lesson!
@@bubbajones1035 I don’t know what this means. I just setup with club on the impact plane and then work on making perfect impact. That complicated stuff always made me play worse.
Got those jumbo max grips and they are amazing. Thanks for the great tip. 👍 Now I have to video myself because I think I'm cheating on the hands before the club. I also am liking the baseball grip. Should I NOT use it?
Use what feels best to you. In my learning program I tell people to go with what is most comfortable between overlapping, interlocking, and ten finger. Just make sure that there is no space between the hands.
@@Setup4Impact Thanks as I appreciate your response. I started out trying to be Moe but found you. I think you have the best technique and a good compromise too. I had the best day at the range today, in many years. Many thanks to you and your teaching.
Do you think that after back surgery and knee surgery I can get back to a scratch? I'm playing at about an 8 and considering your clinic ( with you) in Cincinnati. Please comment. Oh just got the jumbo Max grips on, went with medium. Always played a extra large grip but these are considerably larger!
I am sure that I can help you reach your potential. The key is to learn to focus on making pro-like impact, and then customizing the setup to fit your own needs. This makes the whole process easier. I love the JumboMax Utralite grips and have the size small on all my clubs. Even have the JumboMax putter grip on my SIK armlock putter!!
My set of drills teaches you how to have lag through impact. Early release is the biggest issue in golf causing people problems. I work to fix that with people that I coach online and in my schools. setup4impact.com/online/
Question here Kirk. The driver head is not meant to lie flat at address. Obviously the nose of the driver should be pointing more upright. With a conventional address position it's easy to achieve this at address. When I try raising my arms at address I always find the nose of the driver sinks down to a more flat position. Any thoughts on how to deal with this?
Where it is at address is irrelevant. It should be level with the ground through impact. So starting with the hands low or high will not affect how the driver fits as far as lie angle is concerned. For both setups the club will move through impact at the same angle assuming a setup the same distance from the ball. Unfortunately drivers not very adjustable as far as impact is concerned.
Maybe I'm misunderstanding something but it looks like a slightly different position at address with driver than irons where the former is pointing upwards at the ball and iron head tilted towards the ball.
@patrickmiles5548 I wear the same size glove and I just got the JumboMax in Medium. It feels perfect but I haven't swung it yet. We are still without power here in SC
You are releasing the club too early, and possibly too close to the ball at setup. My learning program teaches you step by step how to fix this for good. Alright so my head is spinning now! I came across a moe norman video a week ago and was blown away. So started watching graves as well. Went out and whether or not i had the swing perfect i hit the best ever. Now im a newbie at best mind you. Then i just came across a comment on a Graves video about you and now im like this make sense that its hard to mimic another guys swing exactly. I was actually gonna buy the golf stick and the set up board from Graves are they not worth it? I to want to get better quicker.
For alignment you can use a golf club or a simple alignment stick that you can get for $5. From there learn to make great impact as I teach. Learning a bunch of positions will waste time in learning what really counts which is impact. I teach you step by step how to perfect impact and you should improve right away. Kirk, is the clubhead flat on the ground or is it angled as it made to do.
The driver head sits pretty flat at setup. I usually let the club sit on the ground to also make sure the face is square as well.
@@Setup4Impact I have been told to lay it with the angle of the club up and the shaft as low as the angle but didn’t think that was correct.

Yes, the ball ball position is farther forward at setup with the driver. So there is less shaft lean at setup and impact.
