Every few months I check back to see if there's any progress on this ridiculous project and every time it's the same thing. Vids with titles promising "insane" progress updates that are basically just someone giving a breathless hype pitch over a few minutes of CGI footage, interspersed with a few blink-and-you-miss-it seconds of excavators and trucks digging a ditch in the desert somewhere.
This is what happens whenyou are too long in power...falling for some ridiculuos cgi proposal, thinks its poasible and then commit all your kingdoms recources on a ridicoulously stupid idea...with no one there to tel you so.
I like how every single thing including hotels will bring "Technological advances". What exactly will hotel and spa bring? Special toilets or toothbrushes? :)
They wouldn't be moving all that earth for nothing. I agree. It will never become what we just saw. But maybe a scaled down version. Google Earth maps show the progress
Wonder who were the consultants that did the feasibility and constructability studies. There just so many tech challenges, and with tech that are not available at the moment. The line IF WERE TO BE CONSTRUCTED, will not be what was advertised, and would be the most inefficient city ever built. For instance, sewage, utilities like water/electricity, connectivity within the line, and with outside, ventilation, structural safety of 500m walls, fire safety, emergency medical cases etc. Imagine how many power plants be it renewable or nuclear and sewage treatment plants that need to be constructed! Building a 170km line city will, take maybe a thousand trillion, and not a 500 billion or a trillion. Not sure how, the consultants capex is so low, but the opex is definitely daunting, if ever it was constructed. I am an engineer by profession for more than 30 years. Funnily, as long as the client pays, I will sing whatever tune he wants me to, with caveat and T&C.
you said well As it is known, this project has seen big changes from the negative side We will definitely make a video about it in the next videos of the channel. Stay tuned📌
All of these projects are a waste of the people’s money for generations. They are all imaginary projects and will fail. They are just satisfying the ego of someone who is addicted to PlayStation games.
Bloomberg came out recently that its length have been shortened from 170km to... 2,4 km. Population from 1,5M to 300k. Also contractors have begun to take workers off the project. All this according to Bloomberg is that Saudi-state have not yet accepted the budget for this year for the project... Getting to expensive???
I think having a public transport train going from west to east, 170 km in 20 minutes are great. This will force hotels and bus stops to create advanced technical solutions to not slow the train down when picking up commuters.
Many of school of Architecture or many Architecture University will have case study of "Failure in Megastructure" and about the environmental will destroy !
Attempting the entire line groundworks may be a missed opportunity. This is a very ambitions built work and I would expect to see a lot of development of technology to support it. In this regard, a feedback loop would allow for a "lessons learned" approach developing team skills and work flows to good effect. This could be achieved by building one modular neighbourhood first and learning from overcoming all the challenges this would entail.
Certainly a grand vision which I hope happens. Unfortunately, as history shows us, the grander the vision the more likely overwhelming opportunity for grand failure. Anyone own one of the World Islands? ;)
I completely agree that the bigger the task, the more likely it is to make a mistake. But we have to wait to see what happens with this project. And there are news that the size of the project was reduced, do you know?
This video must have been paid for by the Saudi government. The Line is completely unworkable and relies on technologies which do not exist. I love how they show flying cars inside the structure. Meanwhile, to get from one end of the line to another on public transport requires train speeds which have not been achieved anywhere. It will be very easy for the Saudi government to spy on citizens on the Line. Also, how does one get out of this linear horror?
This is most idiotic thing ever, why didn't they used shoreline and made developments along the sea coast and sell plots and lands and ready to move villa....sewerage and water would have been easy....or they should have just made a canal for sea water from one end to other.....that would have brought more humidity in the region and desertification would have slowed down. But still it's a non sense project
I am waiting for them to build a huge underground city that can sustain itself, that are protected in case of something happend above earth like asteroid or somwthing like that.

The Neom Project will be completed but in phases The Line is there main flagship with some set backs and Saudis assumed they would generate 1million residents that will transalate as buyer’s, the only problem here they are looking at wealthy donors that is willing to support the project, that will be a very percentages to fit the bill of The Line there flagship project, they need to think broadly by changing a few things they will be able to build it and 2030 is very close I predict it will be completed by 2035 tops, and the first phase completion of The Line but putting up the glassed mirrors by 2027 to 2030. There is going to be a lot of work to do.
@@MassiveBuild Yes I did and it was due to buyers remorse aka FOMO, Saudis do not have enough buyers to buy up residency on The Line, that’s why they have cut the length of the build, nonetheless knowing the Saudi’s they will build it either way so the people will come and when they come whatever investment money there is left the Line should be finished by 2040. I will bet you (even though I’m not a gambler) The Line will open to the public in 2035.. The Future will be here by then.
