I'm sure there will be a lot of people commenting "no matter what, that's still your mother", and I get where you're coming from, but please be gentle. Choosing to step back from a toxic relationship with a parent is one of the hardest things someone can ever go through. Sharing that with a large audience takes a lot of courage. I really hope everyone keeps that in mind before commenting. 💕

THIS. I can't tell you how much I appreciate you sharing this comment. I'll always honor and respect her. Always. There's only so much hurt and pain one can go through before they start distancing themselves. Self preservation. Part of why I don't talk about it openly is because of judgement from others who've never experienced it before. There's no way I could even begin to tell every story so people understand everything that's happened. I appreciate your empathy and compassion and I'm so very sorry for anyone who has had to experience it. The blessing that came from it for me is it taught me how NOT to be as a mother and for that, I'm eternally grateful.
I am also in a situation similar to this. There is often a lot of judgement from those that don't understand.
The best thing I did for myself is walk away from my mother. The best thing you can do is get those that cause you stress out of your life.
I'll just say, I understand.

That glitter shadow colour is stunning. When you mentioned ice blue, I thought it would be lighter but it looks like a more steel blue. I think it’s a colour for even brown eyes.
It's so interesting to see this new stuff from Smith and Cult. I have a few products with previous packaging. They were in these kind of abstract, metallic, faux-hammered compacts. They were gorgeous but I'm not surprised they repackaged! I can't tell you how many reviews I've read that were negative because people thought they were damaged items, or they asked for replacements because of "damage." The products/powders themselves were very nice..
Those lipsticks are so pretty and such cute colors!
Smith AND Cult revamped their company. They originally sold nail polish and lip glosses... AND their lip glosses were amazing then, so I am glad to hear that they are still fabulous. The old Smith AND Cult packaging was the 'bomb'! I wonder if Marc Jacobs and S and Cults lippies are made in the same factory? Dupes maybe?

Aw thank you so much for saying that! I worry everyday about disappointing them or not being a great mom to them. I think it stems from my relationship with my mom, though, but still a concern I can't help but think about.
@@Zabrena Worry just comes with being a mom. My mom made a lot of mistakes, and I mean big ones, but love covers a multitude of sins. In the end, I mostly just remember how much she loved me.

nicknames from moms - my three kids: erin elizabeth = erwin ann, matthew ryann = mac (macaroni man), caleb brennin = boy. my parents have always called my sister monkey because she looked like a spider monkey has a baby. its stuck for 52 years. lol. mine is not repeatable. my brother has usually been "man".
my mom calls my father "ralph". his name is robert. in our family, if you don't get a nickname - and they are always bad - you are not a part of the family.

I don't know if it's a dupe for the Mac paint pot or not never owned it. But Sally's beauty has a concealer in a pot by femme couture I tried its my go to for cut creases.
I had a similar experience with the Smith and Cult foundation! I'm still hoping to make it work somehow. It's sad though, because it's so flawless in the initial application!

I DO! You should've seen my hair after taking care of the kids today. LOL I should've taken a picture. I guess that's when you know you did your job right. I had it in a ponytail but stray hairs were everywhere and it was falling down LOL I missed it, I'm sorry! I purchased that from the Crematorium where I had Dad cremated, it holds some of his ashes :)

Wow, that glitter eyeshadow is *GOR-GEOUS!* Is that Smith & Cult a new brand? Because I'm seeing it all over RUclips all of a sudden. I wonder though - it looked like you wiped that primer right back off again when you used a makeup remover wipe to take the glitter fallout off before applying foundation.
But you did wipe off the primer when you wiped off the glitter fall outs...

I cannot use the Air spun powder you use. I’m allergic to it - eyes water, nose runs, sneezing. Can you recommend a powder without talc that performs the same?
Me too ! To much fragrance in it and it irritates my skin.

Briana Schino Mabelline Fit Me has talc in it and I’m allergic to talc. Haven’t tried the L’Oréal yet, but will. Thank you.

I have seen two different reviews of this foundation stone far. Both polar opposite.. Lol one said it was her new HG and yours where you did not care for it. I ordered it before I saw your review. I don't have very oily skin so wonder if that makes a difference? Btw I also live in Florida and that storm on Friday was no Joke! But it left us with the most beautiful weekend weather 💜💜
Quite possibly! It's hard to find good foundations for oily skin :( but I'm so glad to hear it worked well for you! I wish I had the same experience because it really is a beautiful foundation on initial application! YES! The weekend weather was AMAZING!
Was curious about this brand when I saw it on Ulta's website. Did the lip products moisturize your lips or dry them out. Wondering if I should try them.

Never heard of or seen your channel before, was looking for S&C reviews, went through like 12 that didn't keep me longer than the first few minutes - I'm 3 minutes in and we haven't even talked about the foundation but who cares because I am in l o v e . You are SO gorgeous, we have similar undertones/color/hair, you are goals goals goals and I'm so happy I found this channel.
(Also, as an aside - my wife cut ties with her very toxic mother over a decade ago, and it was incredibly painful but one of the best, healthiest decisions she made for herself. Bravo for you for being able to talk about this, and bravo for you for making the choice that was best for your own heart. Much strength to you.

Hey Zabrena. I feel for you, hun, about your mom. My mother and I were very close when I was young but things have gotten worse as I got older. I have had to draw lines in the sand - and it's sad. It's very sad. Especially when she doesn't understand. I needed it for me. It took me awhile to realize that the relationship between my mom and I did not define my self worth or the merit and integrity of who I chose to be. I don't know what your situation with your mom is, but I can tell that it pains you. I am sorry for your pain, and I dearly hope that all the joys you have in your life right now ease it as much as they are able.
I wait religiously for your videos because they have helped me and been my sanity during some times that were very dark and difficult for me. Losing myself in make-up and product reviews really helped me. And your positive and upbeat spirit has helped me every step of the way through my recovery from surgery. You are an absolute blessing. May you go far, and may you be blessed.
