Iceland only just brought this out and I love watching brand new vids on stuff like this.
The amount of chicken in these for £4 is a crime.
The curry is 350g (their others are 375g) and the chicken content in these looks to be half as much as the others they sell (Rogan Josh, Bhuna, Tikka Masala, Vindaloo, Jalfrezi).
Now let's add insult to injury - they charge £4 for this when all those others I just mentioned are £2.50.
Even after saying that, I have to try this 😂
You know what curries are nice? The Aldi ones with rice. All of them are great and while they are low in calories (some might want to make 2 of them and mix them) I think those have more of an authentic takeaway taste, compared to the Iceland ones.
I got a bottle of Carolina Reaper sauce "puree" (from Chilli Wizards) and add about the volume of a garden pea's worth to the sauce of these supermarket curries, to bring them into reality a bit more. If it's not giving you an endorphin high, then it's not spicy enough!

@@yutehube4468 it's definitely low on Chicken. I'm sure they had extra costs for the Pepper X peppers and branding, but I guess, fundamentally, it's a short lived novelty item which makes headlines and encourages shoppers to go to Iceland.
IMO it's the experience you are paying for rather than the cost or the chicken content.

@@mikekwarner Exactly. Ed Currie must be taking a big cut. 😂The guy in the US that keeps cross breeding chilli peppers and came up with Carolina Reaper and now this one. Apparently it took him 10 years to get this Pepper X this hot. I always saw it claimed to be 2.6 Million Scoville while the Reaper was 2 Million. That's "only" a 30% increase, but on the packaging of this curry from Iceland it says it's 3,180,000 Scoville, which puts it at about 60% more than the Reaper chilli.
I watched a lot of "First We Feast" and "Hot Ones" and saw this is the ultimate hot sauce, but for quite a while after the host (of both hose channels) Sean Evans mentioning the sauce is available in shops, I could never find it online. Now it is available but I think it comes from the US and it's getting up near $40 a bottle! It sounds expensive but, I've made maybe 200+ curries with the 200ml bottle of Reaper sauce I have so maybe it's not expensive really. After Carolina Reaper, seriously why do we need anything stronger than that, it's evil 🥵

I was disappointed, it wasn't as hot as they pretend, just a gimmick, not much in em, i ate 2 wi bit of rice, my biggest regret was buying 3 for £10 ive eaten much hotter, my grandma made hotter curries, mid range heat in my opinion 🎉

@@Anthonyinkz well, it's likely the hottest curry available in any supermarket at the moment. I'm going to try Morrisons Naga Chicken next to see how that compares.
Saying it's Mid Range is a bit of a stretch IMO - it's hotter than most Indian Restaurant Vindaloos, so it's in the top tier heat bracket even if there are hotter curries out there.
See my next video with Aldi's Chicken Phal to see what a heat gimmick looks like 😅

Glass of milk makes it worse any liquids makes it worse

@@Grey-wolf-eg9si fat based liquids definitely help - milk, yoghurt, raita etc. If you watch Hot Ones you'll see them reaching for the milk quite regularly 😅
