I believe those are slides. Are they 1 or 2 fret slides? I’ve done some sliding and bending with my blues but not good at it yet. I’m working on a couple country songs using some slides on acoustic. In fact one of them is really supposed to be a full bend but not getting there on the acoustic, hence slide is good enough for acoustic version. Nice consistency on everything.
Hi David, yeah those are two fret slides, keep on pushing with those slides you will get thhere, you always achieve what you set out to do, that's for sure. I'm not sure if this link will work but I'll place it in this reply. It's my performance of the piece where you can see the slides, thanks again. ruclips.net/video/T9umloBhFs0/видео.html
@@Heavenlyvine Bluegrass music almost constantly uses slides and they are a real struggle for me. Not too difficult to slide up, but sliding down toward the headstock is another story. I notice that you use the third finger, and I think you are also placing the 3rd and 2nd finger down at the same time. True? I find it a little easier to slide with the 3rd (ring) finger rather than the 2nd if I want to hear the target note well. But so many of the tunes require the 2nd finger for the slide. Sigh!............ Like you told David, I'll keep on pushing
@@marianmendez8157 TBH Marian, I can't remember, it's that long since I played the piece, I write things record them then let them go. I would have to re-learn it again via the video to find out which way I played it, but I suspect that it's the first and second finger placement for the part that you are speaking of.
Stellar subtle playing and a beautiful composition, Les!
Thanks again guys, I very much appreciate your time and comments, take care.
