There should be a spring in the engine compartment hooked up to the carb linkage which pulls it towards the back of the car...which in turn pulls the gas pedal back up as well.
I've got a crack about 6 inches long down the centre of the roof above the engine bay on my 1970 bus, I've got sealant tape covering it as a temporary fix, any suggestions for something more permanent?
Is this on the roof? Is there a lot of rust around it? Unless you know someone that can do a good job welding sheet metal, I would be tempted to get all the rust off, put a good coat or two of primer on it, and use fiberglass to repair it. The resin and cloth can be coated multiple times to create a seal that is extremely strong. I've done it before under the windshield on a bus that developed rust through under the seal...check my other videos for reference. Good luck!
Appreciate your videos, they've helped me a couple of times now with my 74. Tomorrow I have to figure out why my pedal is not springing back!

Do you know where to get that upgrade kit from?
I got this kit at GoWesty.com.
how did you get the pin out initially if all parts are still in tack
Good question....maybe a small nail punch might work?
Good day can I ask what is the pin from underneath called?
Sorry for the delay, I just saw this. I'm not sure what the pin is called. Are you trying to replace it?
