- We went to our first Farmer's Market in Alaska. It was great to see all the vendor's goodies and meet new people. They even had the coolest painted rocks. We got to check out our friend's booth. Betty & Jason had so many beautiful designs I couldn't decide what to get. I can't wait to go back.

Yes, we plan to get a pot holder, but we very limited space so we must make our purchase choices carefully.

Fresh eggs at my farmers market is $6-9 here a city right outside Nashville TN.

I love Farmers Markets - because I support the little businesses! I do pray you were able to support your friends and buy something from their booth - and it would be SO fun to see what a Farmers Market is like elsewhere! I go to a couple of different local ones here on the Lower Mainland of British Columbia each Saturday - thanks for taking us along! The person with the painted rocks and bottles is SO VERY talented! Just beautiful work! I agree - hard to pick JUST one!

If still there go to the state fair Matanuskia(?)Valley (north of Anchorage)and see the veggies.... Cucumbers that look like a fire log... A singe head of cabbage that by itself can fill up a standard wheelbarrow with the draping leaves touching the ground and other veggies courtsey of the fertile ground and the 24 hrs of sunlight...Some of the veggies actually get a jumpstart in a green house/or hot house and then moved outside when the actual ground temps have risen to allow the plants to take off in the fertile ground / 24hrs sunlight / and warmer ground and air temperatures...
That was like a craft show! I would definitely want to buy many things! Are you collecting something from each town you visit?

Having only been along the Inside Passage, I have never seen the Northern Lights. The photos at the market were amazing. If you would get the chance to take any pictures while you're up there, I'd buy one from you. I took an eagle and iceberg that won at our fair.

Beautiful stuff but when I think of farmers market I think of farmers bringing in their tomatoes, onions, peppers etc! This is what i call a craft fair

No, we watch very few videos now that we're travelling. Unless it should rain, but otherwise we're out doing stuff.
OMG, $9 fresh eggs by me are $5
You gotta understand what it takes to get those eggs, you have to heat the coup at least five months a year with $4 a gallon fuel...it adds up quick. Anything that involves heating is going to be high price. Tomatoes will show up soon. They will be 9 to 10 dollars a pound.
