It feels timeless. She wrote a song about her father, and performed it. She performed the song about her heavenly Father, that I love. In my opinion, this song feels like it's for her mother... And on the second verse it felt like she was connecting through the hearts, not just her mother but all mothers and women that are older as well as women her own age. Delicate, yet firm and overflowing with love... Absolutely classic and I'm grateful for the fruit of her labor.
I have always felt that you need to watch Morissette as she sings to appreciate the full impact. In this performance, Mori's voice alone does the job to perfection!! ❤❤❤❤
It's in Cebuano, a language spoken in Central Visayas, southern province of the Philippines. And it's Morissette's native tongue. The song is deeply emotional, describing a feeling of just letting out a good cry when a memory hits.
Another great reaction, Danielle. It's a beautiful and haunting song and Morissette is one of the few singers in the world who can do it justice. One of the things Morissette has been focusing on as she explores her artistry is shining a light on songs in her native dialect, Bisaya. This song was written just for her and it shows off her beautiful voice to perfection. I am looking forward to many more wonderful songs in Bisaya. ❤️💯🔥🐦🔥
Morrisette has always been an emotional singer. She certainly puts her heart into everything she sings. It's like the song, Could you be Messiah, that was very emotional as well.
Leave it to mori to get the job done it's such a beautiful song and vocals from Morissette.she is always connected to the song and a master at storytelling and always gives you an emotionally driven performance when it is needed one of her very best for me.great analysis Daniel 🔥👑
Speaking of story-telling, your facial expressions said it all, all throughout the song. ☺ And that build up always, always gives me chills every, single, time. 😢
No pyrotechnics. Just that beautiful tone and emotional manipulation that only Mori can convey. What a performer. Did you see the trailer to her movie? Looks like a tearjerker, but only in the best possible way. Can't believe it's been 5 years since discovering her. I listen to something from her almost every day.
I felt this song right away, especially I’m from Cebu City Philippines 🇵🇭 move to Canada 🇨🇦 Those crying moments on my early years here. It’s Morissette interpretation of this song made a deep impact on me. Her smooth silky beautiful voice. The emotion she has to convey to the song is pure magic. Let’s go Asias Phoenix Morissette 🔥👑
Glad you are back. I really enjoy your authentic reactions. Happy New Year to you and your family. Thanks for your support to amazing talents from all over.🥂👏🏼😎
thank you for this Danielle! You truly are the voice for us, capturing the appreciation and love we have for Morissette. Her ability to sing with such power and emotion leaves us speechless, and you’ve beautifully expressed what we can’t put into words. I appreciate you! ❤🎉
Thank you for sharing this video. I was lost in a trance by Mori's voice...I don't think if I even breathe...she truly is God sent. Keep up the great reactions Sister 🤙
More Mori news...her movie " Song of the Fireflies "trailer was released today January 6th.....it should be posted on her channel...and I read that the International film festival in Hollywood, L.A. California will be premiering the movie late this month !!! 🎉 GO MORI...MORE MORI !!!! And for this song....her voice never sounded better, soft, strong and powerful !!!
Morissette Amon will have a movie that will be an entry at MANILA INTERNATIONAL FILM FEST that will be held at Hollywood. She will be the lead star 🌟 portraying the role of a teacher and a choir trainer. It is a musical movie about Loboc Children's Choir based on a true story. Hope you'll be able to watch it, coach. Thank you. THE MOVIE IS CALLED --- " SONG OF THE FIREFLIES"
This song is just so beautiful. I think she performed this live for the first time on ASAP a few days ago. Someone uploaded it but it got blocked right away but it's up now.
It's an absolutely beautiful song. The interpretation of the video for me is, the elderly woman who has lived a hard life where her dreams were not fulfilled, and we see the three stages of her life, reflecting back to a young girl, with the dream of being a dancer, but it can mean something different, we all have unfulfilled dreams, because of life's challenges, and letting go is the hardest thing to do, Mori sang this live on ASAP, looking beautiful as always, and sounding great, hope you have seen that Mori's film is being released in cinemas around the world, I think in L.A first, I hope it gets a nod for an Oscar nomination as best foreign film, they did a clip of the film on Facebook, sounds beautiful, and it's partly in English, hope to see the film, if not in the cinema, then on DVD, have to do a Google search, now wishing you a great 2025, and may all your dreams come true. 😊
Hi coach Danielle 👋 Thanks so much for this reaction/review. The way Mori pours her heart out and emotions in this song is just indescribable. You can just feel every word, at some point I can hear her voice crying. Btw, I uploaded her first live performance of this song a few days ago but immediately got blocked for 2 days. Thankfully they finally released it a while ago. Hoping you'll react to it too in the future. Luv ya coach😉
This song heavily reminds me of Amy Lee of Evanescence, especially on the last part of the song with the Ahhhhh parts. This is Cebuano but when I first heard it, I was grinning because it’s sooo beautiful. Lyrics hit hard just as much, talking about adulting.
The last part of the song always gets me. Like Morissette wants comfort everyone one by letting their emotions burst out, and reminding us that "You are a fighter. You've come a long way. You're no longer a child, yes, but you are strong!" This song hits differently when you're in the adulting phase of your life, trying to fight every obstacle that comes in your way alone. Please Danielle. React to the live version of this song. She sounded even emotional in that performance. ❤️
She is just one of one, there's absolutely no one like her past or present, it's alright saying she's up there with the best but is the best up with her, she's the benchmark, she actually performed this live a few days ago 🇬🇧🔥👌❤️
I noticed that you are posting a reaction to a Walk of the Earth video tomorrow. You should check out their version of LOVE YOU RIGHT. They perform on top of the CN Tower in Toronto, over 1200 feet high.
I'm a native speaker of Cebuano, the language the song is written in. The emotion might not travel out too well to other languages but the line "Unsa man diay? Di na ka batang gamay" hits the right spot. It's the kind of caring but tough love we specialize in, especially in giving advice. Spoken in a sentence, it's sounds a little like chiding, but all with the good of the other person in mind. Spoken with the right blend of light taunting, cocky/confident, raised voice that might sound angry to non-Cebuanos but isn't really.
Any way ma'am more than just million, thank you very much for recognizing Filipino artist I mean singers,,,,, well Bless full new year to you, may the Good Lord guide's you always for everything, more fames to come and most of all good health, happy life, and may the day's even nights gonna be always be nice and be bright for you and your family circle and so with all of your friends. again and again and again and again thank you thank you thank you, we love you for we knew very much that you are a nice person

I can’t see this to understand what it’s about but with her voice, it doesn’t matter. ❤

The last few notes remind me of the theme song from the movie "Somewhere in time". Very nostalgic.
