I love how they strategically narrowed the walking path and the many curves and turns makes you get up close and personal with the evergreens/ conifers and makes the small space feel big because you can plant more on curves than a straight line. Its like walking through a forest maze of conifers. I am amazed at how colorful the garden is. Now if they dot the garden bed with some perennials/ annuals, it will be color explosion!

I love the use of the amber colored mulch! I used to use darker hardwood mulch in my backyard garden and was always fighting the white pine needles that fell onto it. I decided one day to embrace the white pine needles and use mulch that blends in color with it. Pine needles are a great free mulch. Cedar or cypress mulch, although more expensive, lasts 3x longer in my estimation, making it a better investment of time and money. Thanks Jim and Steph for the beautiful escape into a dream garden! Something about conifers feels so eternal.

What a beautiful predominately evergreen garden! It's amazing just how much color is there! I wanted to grow so many of the shrubs and trees I saw but then I stopped to realize all the plants down my way that I would have to give up! We gardeners are often jealous of those in different areas. This garden is in zone 8b and my garden is too, except I am in the Florida panhandle. Even though I have gardened for many, many years in the deep South, I barely can name most of the evergreens grown there. This is why new gardeners living in zone 8b have to distinguish which plants are suitable for the area where they live. It would be nice if plants were also labeled for a "heat zone".
Jim, another beautiful garden tour video published very regularly on their RUclips channel is Chanticleer Gardens in Wayne, PA. If anyone is not familiar with their tours, I highly recommend them. No dialogue, just tours of the gardens accompanied by music like this one.
