Hello Ricardo, that is great to hear. You can apply for a residence permit if you buy a property for USD 500,000 or more. Alternatively, you can get a residence permit if you start a company here.

So if I buy a property less than USD 500.000 I can’t get a residence permit (even if temporary or renewable) to stay and enjoy my house / investment? That doesn’t seem fair and it makes things a little less enticing. My idea was to settle in Kigali first, enroll my daughter in a school, and then with time start looking for business opportunities and or jobs.
