Thank you for this, Bekah. You said some things I really needed to hear lately. When I was in my late teens I survived an attempt. I was rushed to the hospital and the doctor who diagnosed me with Bipolar II was a lifesaver. He sat me down, talked to me like an adult, and helped me see there was hope, that there are things we can do, and that this didn't have to be the end. He connected me to a therapist and it's really difficult to afford, but I try my best to see a professional when I can. My family handled it differently. My mom tried to sweep my mental illness under the rug and make sure nobody else knew about it, and I was yelled at for not taking care of this quietly and sooner on my own. Some of the people in my support system mocked me, were disappointed, or at best were incredulous as to how I could be depressed. I started learning to shut people out, to fear talking about my feelings with friends or family, and avoid seeing this kind of blowback ever again. But we need to talk about these things. This video reminds me that I'm not alone, and that I need to keep trying to communicate and get help. It's really difficult lately, but I'm still trying to hold on over here. Thank you again

Some things I want to make clear, Bekah:
    1. As a fan of yours, I’m proud of you
    2. Excellent video as always
    3. You as always, look so cute and beautiful in the video
    4. I’ll always be here in your channel, supporting you no matter what.
    5. Whenever I feel tense, you seem to know it somehow and upload a video like just now. And by listening to this video I feel calm and relaxed. Thank you a lot, Bekah

Blown away by this video! I really enjoy your self-awareness, and listening to you speak reflectively. You offer wonderful perspective.
And I think I can speak for all of us when I say we're glad you're still here. You're so lovely. You're an enormously strong person, and as far as I'm concerned, ASMR royalty.
Lol thank you for the tingly goodness on top of everything else.

It seems like you always ask yourself what has utility and what doesn't. You've taken so much personal responsibility for your wellbeing, and it seems like you really encourage others to do the same. You've done this in spite of every negative thing that wasn't and isn't your fault. That is very powerful to me. One day, when I can, I want to live in a way that makes the suffering actually feel worth it.
You said to do what you have to do to find those little pieces of happiness. The videos you make have provided me with lots of those. Your affirmation videos, like this one, have also helped me maintain perspective and hold onto hope. I'm holding on, so thank you for continuing to hold on even when you wonder if it's worth it. I can't thank you enough for holding on. Thank you for your bravery and even using what you've learned from your suffering to help me through mine.
I will hold on with you. I promise.

"One day, when I can, I want to live in a way that makes the suffering actually feel worth it."
That summarizes the struggles many of us go through so well. I hate to give the suffering a sense of "worth", but when we reach that point where we are finally comfortable... we will cherish it so much more because of it.

That was the most powerful thing I've ever seen you post. Perhaps it's the most genuine, heartfelt, direct, honest thing you've ever produced. Even for those of us who may never have experienced this kind of trauma, it's just as important and powerful. And hearing you utter, "it will get better" sounds so real and so legitimate. Don't misunderstand me; I'm not trying to say that any of your past work was not quality work. It's just that this seems to be a pivot point in terms of your self-assurance and the influence and power you've drawn on from your own continuing life experience. I'm truly in awe of this Bekah. There is no question in my mind that you will reach whatever you set out for yourself, and that you will continue to seriously inspire others to find the answers they seek and the solutions for change that they crave. I'll stop here as I've run out of adjectives to better describe this so I'll leave you with a simple honest "thank you".

  • @stoicart7675

Okay, I feel I need to just get this off my chest . Thanks so much for this Bekah. Due to my own childhood trauma. It felt like I lost myself and became detached from reality which was a bit scary at first when I woke up to everything going on around me. But, with your and other peoples love and guidance I'm starting to adjust.I can see the light and it brings me hope.I have a deep love and respect everyone helping me and others out, I just don't know how to express it sometimes cause I'm still in a state of shock in awe at the moment. I'm personally not used to receiving so much love and empathy when in the past all I have felt is neglected, used, or betrayed.
People like you have really restored my faith in humanity and made me become really fond of people again.I can see the beauty in life and inspires me to want to be a better person .I know things will get better and i'll accomplish my dreams eventually; but, in the meantime I will just continue to hold on to you, learn from you, dream bigger and work toward my own aspirations so I can one day repay the favor.
With all that being said, please take good care of your self. Don't take on too many other peoples burdens unnecessarily that you become bogged down yourself .I wish you nothing but happiness cause you have a big heart and deserve all the positive energy and love your sending out returned to you. 💛💛💛

“don’t dwell on the past because it’s the one thing you can’t change”
“think about how you can make your great future an great past”
    “always find the positive”
“don’t let it bother you, it’s not important”
things like these are what i tell myself now, last year was horrible but this year will be different. you said things well and i’ve learned more from this as well, thank you, i appreciate it. hope ur ok.

Most real, most vulnerable, most moving. We try to be strong by not talking - Funny how strength is built thru things like humble sharing. We all need to hear how valuable we are. The world prefers to blame and shame, but we need this message that in essence says you (we) are worthy. Proud of you for sharing. Thinking about what I blame myself for. Praying about all this bc that's what I know. Praying that strength grows from here.

This is great stuff - you're doing good work here. If anyone is struggling the it's definately worth facing it, I recently finished a course of CBT because I wasn't operating at my best. It took the longest time to reach out for help as I always felt showing it was weakness, I couldn't have been further from the truth. Ultimately you can never truly be at your best unless you're willing to work on it, part of that is identifying when you need to trust yourself in others and focus on making you the best you that you can be, even mentally. Just keep fighting that good fight - you've survived 100% of your worst days so far.

Thanks for sharing with us. There is a fence that separate us and shame us sometimes going to the bottom is the only way to see it. And then talking, sharing, and with compassion, we can see that every each of us has this fence, and many times those who cannot feel compassion are just running away of their feelings and don't want to look inside them, don't want to accept that this fence exist.
Thanks, I really feel you are doing something very very important, you and many people are showing the path away from shame and into compassion, and showing us what is important and what not.

Heya Bekah, I was listening to this last night in bed and wanted to comment but of course I fell asleep and wasn't about to start typing a whole thing out on my phone.
Been probably the most depressed i've ever been lately. Things seem like they just aren't working out. Feel like the time has passed on many things and i've missed my chance now. Thirty two and like you feel held back by things that happened in my childhood. My trauma was more medically related (cancer, twice), and it sucks it was just a roll of the dice thing. I feel like i've never been able to catch up socially or professionally. I'm stubborn and I try, but it feels like failure is all I meet with and every time it gets harder and harder to deal with. A year or two ago I started seeing a therapist and she helped me get to a point where I thought I could go at it on my own, but now I feel like I need to start going again as i'm only in a marginally better position... but more lonely.
I'm a bit ashamed to say i've been listening to asmr for a long time now, but only recently have been watching your videos. Many people in the comments, you, and me are all in similar mental states... and we'll all get there eventually.

I can’t describe the impact you have had on my life and the love I will forever have for you. You have taken your lack of home and given us all a home through your videos. You are not just beautiful but a magical person. With that being said, I understand the dark place that makes you forget these things...and it’s okay. Forgive yourself for even that darkness and be free to be the beautiful person you are. 🙏

my spring 2017 memories are filled with replaying your mental health videos (also some layered sounds with random phrases). it was the first time i had felt so understood and comforted and validated for feeling the way i did. one video had a galaxy background talking about existence and everything just felt larger than life. i remember that time because i had attempted suicide. im still struggling but thanks for doing your best in your corner of the world, wishing you happiness

Thanks for sharing, I feel like knowing that others have been through similar things and recovery is slow for all of us, somehow it just helps.

Yep, fear is a very healthy and big factor in life. Failure is the way forward, do not be afraid to make mistakes, and don't be afraid to take a break if you need to as well. Love your vids Bekah ^_^ :D

I know it's sort of odd, but I love you Bekah. You just have always struck me as such a good person, even if you haven't always thought so yourself. If I knew you in person I'd very happily be a supportive friend to help you avoid those lonely times -- I know exactly how it is, I sometimes get overwhelmed when I'm alone, which recently has been most of the time. I have a couple friends I'll reach out to and in turn I'll to my best to help them when they need it.
Life can just be really hard, and my personal feeling is that it's because it's sort of meant to be, by those who would use us up for their own ends and who don't really care what that does to our mental health. And then if you have some genuinely negative, toxic, or abusive person(s) in your life it just becomes so much worse. So it really is up to us to help one another, when we can. I've been incredibly close to ending things myself, but I've been pulled away from that by someone else being in pain and so... I shouldered my own pain and then reached out a hand to help the person I cared about. It didn't make things better, but that pause caused me to reconsider things. I'm not sure if things will really get better for me -- right now there's some good hope that things will -- but I figure that I can put up with suffering if can help other people through theirs. I still have bad days... but I've pulled through so far. And most of all I just don't want others to hurt if I can help them in some way.
Anyway, love you and thank you for sharing, and for doing your best to help others. We are all stronger together... and hopefully in the near future there will be systemic change so that professional help is easier to get and being open about mental health is accepted.

I'm late to this, but I will hold on with you like an eccentric tarsier.
For what it's worth, I get my tingles reactivated every single time to just your videos, and fall asleep on every Tingle Quest. I forget to save.
Sincerely, thanks for doing these things. Thank you for being here.

Amazing people like you give me hope that people do care about each other. I hope you know how strong you are for getting through those hellish times. I wish I could give you a hug so frickin much!!! I’m glad you’re here and I know you’re telling us we’re gonna be okay, but I hope you know the same applies to you. Change is hard but we’ll always be here for you. I hope you find peace and happiness in your personal life. You may feel alone at times but we’ll always be here. You make a difference. You matter. Not just to us but as a person. You’re a beautiful, gentle gal and anyone who knows you personally should know how lucky they are to have you in their life. Much love to you from you ASMR family

You know what I don't care what anyone says whisper rambles are 1 of my favorite videos from you, the individual behind the tingles is as equally as important to me as the sounds they make. How else am I going to trust someone telling me it will be okay and believe them if I'm not really sure if they're even "real life" or not? I mean I can always assume but...actually I'd rather not do that at all if I can help it, anyway this was a BLAST! It's always great to have videos like these where you're basically just hanging out with the viewer and making em feel safe at the same time! As always I'll see ya right back here for the next video which I think will be a spanish one, until then take care dude haha. :) (P.S that thumbnail makes me think I did something, like a "I know what you did last night" type of thing it's funny haha)

Respect to you for sharing this, especially since there's a lot of viewers who probably need to hear from your perspective. That side of us that we have that wants to die, we need to let it die so we can become people who can not only live in this world but also thrive in it. Keep up the great work, you are an outstanding asmrist and a survivor.
