Where I live in co. Cork. There is a " fairy fort" just behind my house. It's very old and no one has ever touched it. It's overgrown with trees but on Google maps you can clearly see its a perfect circle. I believe it was a defensive structure in times of old so the inhabitants could defend themselves in case of attack. But I'm not sure to be honest. It's a fascinating structure being so old and thus far untouched.
I've taken a look at several cairns that are in my area. Although not Irish, they were built in the mid 19th century by Scottish setlers. You can certainly feel the energy around then.
What about the stones on the dublin mountians near the top?Or the spiral stone work piece near there to the right of the main entrance? The stones on the very could be glacial deposits.Or mb they were put there by dublin corp or mb by ancient locals?
I think that there may have been lots and lots of reasons for building stone circles. One reason that comes to mind , and please realize that this is only my thoughts on this. I'm not saying I have for sure a definitive answer. Having said this, One reason is unity. I believe the Ancient Irish were very wise. It's far better to have a project in common with your neighbors than to have most of your communications be about the negative. Such as , "your cows are grazing on my property again." Then there's the food and celebration. So this would have a bonding effect.. There's also the intellectual side of things. This is something I feel that I can be more sure of. Humans have two minds. The one we are taught to use now days is our biological mind , or primate mind. Most people today live their whole life using only this primitive thought processor. When it's what we have been told is our subconscious that has the most ability. I believe the Ancient Celts knew how to access the concisness far better than we do today. Druid as I understand it. means Oak brain. That's not a insult either. I myself was pretending to be a aboveground root on a Oak tree, to better camouflage myself whilst Deer hunting. Then for reasons I still don't know, I started realizing things. It got so intense and I was realizing things that I had no background in , or enough information about to be realizing. I all of a sudden realized the real power structure on this planet. Roman history that I never studied ever in my life. (I thought I was losing my mind. When I started researching the results, everything that I could investigate was 100% correct. When I tried to tell people about it they thought I had lost my mind. That's the sad part about knowing things most people have no idea about it. If John Barlycorn hasn't experienced this himself, it couldn't have happened! The Stone circles May well hold a connection to a wealth of knowledge. If I lived in Ireland or Wales, or Scotland I would have to put myself in contact with a stone pretending to be a part of the stone myself. Maybe nothing would happen, but then again something phenomenal might happen. A person doesn't know unless he tries.. Those are my thoughts on stone circles. I hope you found them interesting.

Seefin passage tomb?
that row of water-filled holes in the last stone? an attempt to split it with wedges (not bullauns)
May be so, but that's what we locals call them.
