I remember a friend of mine showing me this in the late 2000s. As a black kid from Duvall Jacksonville Florida as I was like wtf is this. Still one of my favorite songs of all time. I'm 27. Ty Mr. Torrez.
Came across this band from rockband in my teen years. as a black kid from Orlando FL. I was perplexed as well. Now i'm 28 Still jammin the colors album.
11:43 - I started smiling from ear to ear and didn't stop until the song ended. Music has not affected me like that in a long time. Love this band so much!
I had a friend who gave me this album on a usb player when I was 18 and living in a homeless shelter, I'm 31 now and it's still just as good as it was when I listened to it on headphones, late at night in a dark room with three other homeless dudes.
I’ll sleep now. My teeth taste funny today...they seem more jagged than normal. I’ve been told, I’ve been told, I’ve been told that I have been grinding them like gears during my dream hours... I wonder if it’s just my thoughts fusing into one frequent dream... One which parts with the night, the night. I saw them dragging the other day, other day. Scraping their knees... Seems the high horse is taking them all home... I can’t leave myself out. Seems the high horse is taking them all home... I can’t leave myself out, self out. Why should we sleep today... Why should we awake tomorrow? We can just pop back a few and drift through this pre-programmed flight. We can just pop back a few and drift through this pre-programmed flight. Across all oceans... a windy, noisy trek... Across all oceans... a windy, noisy trek... This seems to be what I’ve needed. Across all oceans... a windy, noisy trek... Across all oceans...a windy, noisy trek... The view used to be better...lands are growing into one. We wanted it this way. We were brought up to grow into one. We were brought up to grow into one. I’m going to fly up soon and seek other lands. The soothing air of flight... A bird’s eye view into what I’ve always imagined life could be. Will it be sought after? It might just be useless writing and ideas that laziness will corrupt in the end. Bones of dust need hardening. I think the prescription. I think the prescription is found. Sleep on... Sleep on... fly on. In your mind, you can fly. Sleep on... Sleep on... fly on. In your mind, you can fly. Sleep on... Sleep on... fly on. In your mind, you can fly. Sleep on... Sleep on...fly on. In your mind, you can fly. My teeth grin oddly today... They seem to gleam more than normal. Maybe it will be noticed. Walking dead. Walking dead.
The build up and what proceeds is my favorite section of music I've ever heard. I've loved these guys for a while, and they only get bet on subsequent listens
The original Colors album was one of the first metal albums I ever listened to and Ive been hooked on the genre and BTBAM ever since. So fucking stoked to see it remastered!
My first song from BTBAM [I was already into metal] was from Parallax II; heard the whole thing for free on youtube and immediately had to go purchase the album I loved it so much. XD But this one is a particular masterpiece.
Colors I got me into progressive death metal and helped me enjoy it in more ways than I could realize, Colors II blew me away not that it only holds a candle to the original, but presents its own take 14 years after the fact. These guys destroy on all levels. See them if you get a chance
This is my favorite song from them.. I saw BTBAM first time in Rochester NY @ WaterStreet Music Hall, met the band out back, and they asked me if I had any weed!! Of fuckin course I did, and gave them the whole quarter. Last song they played was super Heavy version of Bicycle by Queen. Fucking awesome. The second time in Syracuse NY and met DUSTY the Guitar player at a bar they were playing in Syracuse! Got like 10 pics with him, bought him 2 beers... then saw em about 20 more times after that... My all time fav band. BTBAM is amazing, and such nice guys.
This is in a dead tie with Alaska for the best BTBAM album. Holy shit are there some absolute gems, it feels like a suite of songs each doing their own thing but doing it soooo damn well.
This song is indescribably beautiful. I’ve known it for ten years, but it still somehow sounds better and better to me with each subsequent listen. I’m forever thankful to BtBaM for creating this epic of a song and gifting it to us✨
One of my really good friends introduced me to BTBAM and I was hooked. I also had the chance to see them live for their The Great Misdirect tour (it was my first metal show ever, the band's first since COVID, and their first of the tour....it was amazing) and their Human Is Hell tour with Car Bomb at the Georgia Theater. Listening to this masterpiece right now has me looking forward to their next tour!
Condemned to the gallows from automata 1 received a grammy nomination in 2018 if i'm not mistaken, but i also think this album did not received any nominations.
@@dragonoid296 its is hard to pinpoint the genre as it is a fusion.Posers are forgiven to be calling it prog metal because there are lots of prog elements in it,more than metalcore in fact. You could definetely argue its prog.I personally believe it is
Old mixes sound two-dimensional compared to these new ones. Also Dan's parts are a lot more present/less muddy in these mixes. Listen to the high end, makes the old one sound like it was summed/printed on shitty convertors or something.
@@ayewhaddupdoeyes you can hear Dan away better but it at the cost that mix in general is more "round". It is really more easy listening, but in term of brightness and colour, even though you say high end is printed on shitty convertors it sounds more vibrant.
@@Hugobianca I don’t personally think this is a very good example, but I agree with your point about modern mixes compressing the music too much and making it harder distinguish individual instruments. This issue plagues metalcore and hardcore especially.
Remaster it as much as you want; I'll never get tired of seeing it in my feed.
Agreed 👍
My ninja
Best live band to ever do it
I was lucky enough to catch them supporting TesseracT with Plini opening
Went to see Mastodon in Charleston, SC in 2010 not knowing who the opening bands were. After seeing Between the Buried and Me open I was hooked.

Im 38. I started listening to a lot of bands on this label in the early 2000s. No other song hits like this one. Its a masterpiece.
It's like listening to this album for the first time... At a loss for words and that's rare.
This song gets better every time I hear it.

Yep horns. Barely audible in original mix but shine here nice and bright. The remaster is amazing.
