Our government system is organized as a republic. Democracy just means we vote to decide things. We are a republic with a democratic system of government because a republic is a type of democracy. One is how Greeks did it, on is how Roman's did it. Our government is best defined as a representative democracy. If we were a pure republic like Roman, congress men would all be appointed by a few elected officers, if we were a pure democracy like Greece everyone would have to vote on everything for anything to become law.

It's so weird how even in this the political lines are still so clearly drawn. Just in how they address him, all the Republicans say "president Trump" and all the Democrates say "former president Trump." They're still squabbling so ridiculously. It's really bizarre.
