How is the reliability of the 2t 500 in the snow I know its very reliable in the dirt, I have a black 500af also!! I hear carb freeze issues and and the 2t pipe staying to cold? Thx.
Are these snow bikes more likley to overheat etc because of he fact that he is riding on snow and not moving as fast as he would on dirt etc? Or would the colder weather/snow balance it out?

The 300 does not have a thermostat as i just found out. I have ordered a thermostat housing and hoses from the xc-w. The carb will ice up on those super cold days. Temps will run low without it but when you do serous hill climbs while pinned for a while they can overheat. I have not overheated my 300 yet, the 500 will overheat tho. The FI 4t 450s have issues with auto choke never turning off because it wont warm up enough then the gas condensates in the oil. Either way they are not ideal but for repairs i'm a two stroke man all the way. I have eaten my shorts 3 times on four strokes, crf450, wr250, and a txc250r. all major rebuilds that killed my faith in the four strokes.
Where that thing should be is at low altitude where it can actually breathe & make real horsepower. Take it back east. Tug hill area of upstate ny. Deep powder (200-300" anually). Only 2100 feet above sea level at the highest point. That bike would be a totally different type of predator.

seems kinda slow and guttless... for the 10,000 dollars the timbersled costs you could get a nice mountain sled with some balls and not have to disassemble/reassemble a nice bike, rejet the carb, blah blah. not to mention all the stress that huge track and weight put on the dirt bike gearbox and clutch. a tire in dirt spins e

HeddleTowns Enduro Ride take a longer coolant hose around your carburetor to keep it warm is what I have heard.
