@@MilkLegScoop that is true actually, even though it felt like you flew threw batteries it actually did last a long time, probably to do with the low res screen and no backlighting.
Great video, I did expect you to discuss the Pocket being a farewell product by Gumpei Yokoi after the Virtual Boy problems. Also to point out that to this day a massive community still are developing new and amazing games for it.
I actually must have missed both of those facts in my research, thank you adding those points. I’m curious to what kind of games are being developed for the GameBoy still. Thanks for the comment. Cheers
@@jdmann6189 games are being developed under every genre. Some I can recommend are Super Jet Pak DX, Tobu Tobu girl, the Zelda's Adventure GB demake of the CDi game. Also pretty much everything being published by Incube8
That’s awesome, I’ll be honest as soon as I got the colour, the original kinda fell by the waste side haha it still works as well kinda lol the screens not entirely working unfortunately
I spent 6 months in Alaska washing slimy fish hold bin boards in order to buy one. If you had one of these when you were 12 like I did everyone was your friend. Great memories. I can still hear the chime sound. Lost a lot of sleep hiding under the covers playing late into the night.
I still have my original DMG. I keep toying with the idea of modding it, but it is in such good condition. I also have the pocket and the color. A true gem of a console!
That’s awesome! And I totally understand, if somethings not broke why fix it (as well as if it’s still mint you don’t want to mess with that). My screen is starting to go so an upgrade makes sense but to me it’s so many memories that I don’t want to let go of. Cheers!
Gameboy had the games and the battery life. That is how it came out on top. No one else could compete with them there.

Love the retro commercials lol great video!

Great video. I played that so much as a kid...and I still have it, and it works. Same with my SP.

That’s awesome. Doing very honest work to get something you want is very cool
i hope you grow big
That actually means so much to me, thank you! ❤️ let’s hope 2025 is a good year for everyone.

@@jdmann6189 I would love a video on your upgrade! I have just used my Anbernic devices and retired my old 'boys'.
Great vid! Keep it up bro
Thanks a lot!
It wasn't the GameBoy Advance Micro, it was the GameBoy Micro.
@@steve.b.23 you’re absolutely right, a mistake on my part. Thanks for the comment. Cheers!
Great video! what's your hot take on the Modretro Chromatic?
Dude, I’ve never heard of this thing before, I think it’s pretty dope actually. Your comment has inspired me to make a reaction video on it haha
I have a comprehensive history of the micro on my channel ;). Cheers mate
i remember having one of these and feeling poor cause the gameboy color was better and you couldn't play new cartridges' with the old hunk of junk
lol I felt the same when the Advance came out, I was still stuck with the colour
