I have the same arrestors. Installed first week of June 2024 and started to fail in November 2024. Time to install a couple new ones. Really was hoping these would last longer.
Thanks, I didn't knew there was water hammer arrestors available for "outside" of the wall. Good to know. I also can't help myself not noticing the nice "landlord special" painting on those valves!
I've had both of my water hammer devices fail within 2 years. I used the same kind as you used. The stainless steel section popped off and water went everywhere! I decided to put an expansion tank near the water heater. Much more robust and took care of everything in the house.
Same here, my second set of arrestors lasted 1 year for the hot water and now 1and a half years the cold is starting to go. From my experience the piston types do not last. The piston inside is made from plastic, i think if it was made out of metal they would last a lot longer.
