Greg went from losing a point due to disregarding his team's input, to winning as a result of trusting his teammates against his better judgement. Now that's a perfect character arc, if I've ever seen one.
"Every time something funny was said, so he did it like 4 times in the show." I think the audience and the panelists missed that joke. Pretty damn funny!
Considering his wife was on it and she had a blast it seems, it would be terrific for her to help convince him. I would absolutely love to see David on Taskmaster too. It would be like seeing James Acaster times 10 every time he gets mad 😂
I used to know a guy that was bigger than Greg. Not as tall, but more burly. I saw him put away 26 double bourbons in one sitting and get up and sing "It's not unusual" by Tom Jones at Karaoke.
06:54 - Admittedly, I was not previously versed on the word "tessellate" prior to this episode, but after reviewing the definitions, I do believe David used the term inaccurately. When he later used the word "mate," I feel that was a much better verb. Reviewing the definitions for both will reveal the crucial differences (without me having to post here).

[SPOILERS] . . . . Greg has good lying tactics. "How long did the trip take?" [pause] "I honestly can't remember." Bad liars answer immediately, and often in minute detail because they're making it up on the spot ("How long did it take?" "One hour, five minutes, and seventeen seconds.") People telling the truth might pause to try and remember. Good liars pause to act like they're trying to remember.
Since the first time I heard Garreth's lie, I started using it when people audition for me. First baa baa acapella, then (if you have potential) we move on to your chosen song. I just leave out the "being scared" part.
The squawk like a parrot thing might be good for me and my ADHD (which is shared by Lee Mack, Rhod Gilbert, Russel Howard, Stephen Fry, and many other beloved Brits). I got so sick of losing my keys that I put a carabiner on them and started clipping them to my bra when I go out
I use row row row your boat when auditioning actors that have to sing during the play. You can evaluate individual voices and you can test groups also...very handy ❤ ✿❧🌿❧✿ ❤
The pound coin just acts as a method to release the trolley. You put it in to release the trolley, and get it back when you return the trolley. You can buy a little metal disc on a keyring, rather than a pound coin, so you know you always have the means to release the trolley with you.
It is amazing to me how people like David, on the anxiety/OCD side of things, can be so obsessively concerned about objects While I, with my ADHD, immediately forget about any object I'm not hyperfocused on. Keys? Who knows. Phone? Might be in my pocket. Gloves? Definitely lost.
It's amazing that someone who once diagnosed himself with obsessive compulsive disorder, is obsessively compulsive? You realize it is just very much the other side of the coin
His brother had died at the time of recording, so he took some time off and they couldn't postpone the shooting of this episode and Lee suggested Greg as guest team captain.

I remembered Greg's story about the rickshaw driver in such detail that, even rewatching, I fully believed him
Same here. In memory, I thought it was true.
Btw loved the Taskmaster foreshadowing when Greg overruled his team and made his judgement.
Me too😂
“Do you remember where you were when you heard that Elvis had died?” 😂😂😂
That was so quick.
One of the very best episodes ever.

I know he'll probably never do it, but I would love to see David Mitchell on Taskmaster
Omg yes it would be great
His wife did it, so we can always hope!
His wife already did it, so maybe she could covince him. Victoria was in season 12
Money talks, and they’ve gotten equally as unlikely guests in the past. I hope they find the price!

I almost choked when David started singing.
Greg Davies and Rod Gilbert are my favorite panelists. Funny how they are both Welshmen.
Are classifying Bob Mortimer as something other than a panelist?
@@atmaximum Bob Mortimer is a Dr Who character that accidentally merged to our reality
Greg was born in Wales but didn't grow up there. Actually, his dad drove his mom to a hospital in Wales while she was in labor.
This was like Taskmaster training for Greg!
"It's irrelevant, I've made my decision."
I can totally see that... 🤔😄
that's what i thought! "an early manifestation of his taskmaster persona"
@@mikecooney8422that was when I suddenly saw Greg Davies the almighty Taskmaster come out!
As a US American, I cannot fathom the amount of alcohol that it would take to get an Englishman of Greg's size "offensively drunk"

You probably didn't finish the episode...
As an American nobody calls themselves "a US American"
They should book the full IT crew of IT Crowd on an episode all at once.
Gareth had a genius strategy there to make it look like he was just making it up poorly on the spot
The problem is David just always looks frightened
What a lineup!

Can we just focus on the fact that they all laughed uproariously when Amanda said she really did kill her pet rabbit...?
It must be awful on Richard's back if he's trying to squeeze through that little door every day.
Safeway is in England?

Concerned. Did David’s lip bleed around the time he was fear singing. Ambesol would help heal the lip. I assume it split due to dryness.

For the record Greg’s taller than Richard and it’s upsetting they make it seem otherwise
Although maybe they’re just trying to make it seem like he’s actually Lee
