CAUTION: If you have a KitchenAid Tilt Head-style stand mixer, the user manual advises NOT to run the mixer for more than 10 minutes at a time. If your mixer gets warm, I suggest mixing for 6 minutes, allowing the machine and dough to rest for 5 minutes, and then mixing for 5 minutes. Tilt Head mixers have less power than Bowl Lift units and should not be overworked!
hey, can kitchenaid run for 20 minutes? the manual says it runs max of 10 minutes on speed 2 , I've never able to get it smooth and elastic in 10 minutes..
Depending on your model, it's possible that mixing pizza dough for more than 10 minutes may overheat the machine. If your machine gets warm or gives off questionable smells, I suggest running the mixer for 6 minutes, letting the machine and dough rest for 5 minutes, and then running the machine for a further 5 minutes. Perform the Window Pane Test and see if the dough is ready at this point or whether it needs another minute of mixing.
@@feldon27 mine's professional 7qt model and the manual says it's for commercial 1.3 horse power, its rated 500 watts, but the actual wattage is 300ish watts bowl lift model
@@feldon27 I've actually run mine for 17 minutes no problems(at least so far), the top part of the mixer was hot, cheaper Chinese model runs 17 minutes for 3 round with about 30 mins rest in between with no problems, the kitchenaid looks more well built with metal allover but the warnings in the manual makes me worry
