Beautiful from Varga. Most average fighters would have been stuck at long range not knowing how to deal with the blitz, but amazing pressure from Varga, he is a very good fighter.
That adaptation by Varga against Madera's blitzes and speed advantage was remarkable, leading him to getting close with short elbows and opening up the cut on Madera. Very bloody but it's hard to fault Varga's strategy, especially given he was cut as well and could have suffered the same fate.
Funny to see Gabriel Varga always teach really interesting techniques, while this fight was just "elbow elbow elbow elbow elbow elbow elbow elbow elbow elbow" hahaha. Great lad. Honorable martial artist! Taught me so much. I'm so happy he won, against an olympian karateka no less!
Love Varga but the rule set seems to be all over the place? Can anyone tell me if those strikes on the ground that opened up his opponent were within the rules?
For the video makers : you need to put who is who on the screen, it took me until halfway through the fight to work out who was who. Just a Red = X Blue = Y flashed on the screen at the beginning of the rounds would do.
I never thought a technical fighter like Varga would just straight bully his opponent like that. Karate requires more lateral movement, not just hopping on your toes. What works for Kickboxing/Muay-thai needs some adaptation to Karate.
You can be technical and still bully people with your pressure. Varga used to fight like that when he was younger and competing in kickboxing, absolutely brutal….don’t let the chill personality fool you! 😂
Noticed these karate guys really dont like taking a punch, soon as they get clipped it changes them for the rest of the match. I think Varga is giving his opponents way too much respect letting them do the little blitz punches and as a result getting hit himself. Im not in there so cant judge nothing, but i know Varga is a beast compred to these karate randoms.
Yall need to get better referees or better explain the rules. I love gabriel but y'all let him get away with a lot and let Skrivers get away with a lot when they fought
I don't know ... Varga kinda complains a lot and always talks about every single little thing when his opponents supposedly don't follow rules etc., but then, he blatantly violates the rules himself here which arguably won him the fight. Madera was a different fighter after having Varga blast him with all those elbows from full mount and both knees on the ground, and the ref doing nothing. That was highly incompetent.
Karate Combat is kind of all over the place when it comes to their rules. In a previous fight with Skrivers, the ref did nothing about Skrivers's double leg takedown attempts even though it was supposedly illegal. The takedowns were even scored against Varga. I believe in the first fight with Madera, they added in thigh kicks to the ruleset but only told the fighters on the day of the fight. Since the promotion itself doesn't seem sure about what its own rules are, I don't blame Varga for not giving a f and just doing whatever it took to win.
@@MrMisterBatman The rules aren't really all over the place - they're very clear - but it seems that KC hass issues with communicating them to refs and fighters in due time. Obviously we don't know if Varga was aware that he can't go into full mount and strike, but clearly the ref absolutely wasn't. It's not the fighters' job to officiate the fights, it's the ref's, and this one totally failed at it. Regarding Skrivers' takedowns: most of them actually weren't in fact double legs - he grabbed one leg, but the other arm was on or around the waist. That's fine. I remember him getting away with one or two genuine double legs too. Again: ref failure. That really needs to be tightened up.
Having GSP as a commentator was the best decision they made
Dang, one of the bloodiest fights I've seen. Great comback for Varga after the damage he sustained in the first round.
That was brutal. Good job Gabriel.
“That was nice”
Sliced with those elbows!
Beautiful from Varga. Most average fighters would have been stuck at long range not knowing how to deal with the blitz, but amazing pressure from Varga, he is a very good fighter.
"Transformed himself unto the perfect nemesis for his opponent" very well articulated by GSP. And ofc amazing job by the 6x champ, Gabriel Varga!
Varga inspires me
What a privilege to watch. Thank you to both warriors
What an amazing fight. Those elbows were brutal
Great fight Varga. Was cheering for ya
Wow
I was scared for you gabriel that guy was fast as hell and tough for a point fighter
I had the same thoughts, I was thinking Varga was not doing anything to deter his opponent from attacking him.
Great fight, well done Varga!
Dude its my guy!!
Wow! Congratulations Gabriel
Im sure GV will do a recap video on Monday
This is the most aggressive I've seen Vargas! Great job bro! Taking advantage of the refs lack of rule knowledge! Word!
I never thought the blitz could be so effective. Good show.
The small gloves makes me realize a different guard is probably better
My first time seeing blood at Karate Combat.
oliveira vs Kavakopoulou was pretty bloody
You must be pretty new to KC
@decidingpaper6324 No, just never seen it.
Is GSP commentating?
Ground and pound elbows. Not spectacular, but super brutal.

Gabriel is like 40ish and still dominating.

Who’s the DJ for this event? Fire them asap
Love Varga but the rule set seems to be all over the place? Can anyone tell me if those strikes on the ground that opened up his opponent were within the rules?
He had both knees on the ground, which makes the elbows illegal. The ref blew it.
4:00
The Iceman!🥶

They literally say at the beginning varga is blank pants Madera is white
@@andymcevoy3109 yeah and im a bit dumb so that took me all of 15sec to forget

Has me wondering how Gabriel would look in mma
Terrible. He got taken down multiple times in this fight by a pure karate guy what would a wrestler do to him
Gabriel “Elbow Zombie” Varga

Is this new?
Gabriel is a gangster
War Varga!
Does Madera know how to do anything but throw hooks/haymakers?
Well those karate blitz were straight punches
Gabriel Varga is that guy, best kick-boxer of all time
Yall need to get better referees or better explain the rules. I love gabriel but y'all let him get away with a lot and let Skrivers get away with a lot when they fought
Now this is karate let's go 💪
They're gonna stop the fight due to a cut. Red's gonna win due to that cut.

I am a fan of Varga but this fight was horrible.

Because karateka are really good at catching and countering those kicks and Varga is a safe fighter.
Looked very amature.
