Miss those places. My mother had clothing store next to the market you visited in the beginning. I have been downhill skiing in that resort so many times when I was a kid. Thanks for sharing this, brings back so many great memories.
Places like 10:40 can be dangerous when the snow rises halfway to the treetop, the snow may not support weight where its on the branches and you might fall and get stuck
It's so funny seeing foreigners experience these places that are so normal to us Finns. However, it's great to see that they respond the same way we do on average. We are all human. Let's enjoy each others treasures.
I am from Finland and I have seen it like that. However, surprisingly the most snow I have ever seen is here in California, not where I live by the beach, but up in the mountains.
@@evansontour281 Seriously I have seen houses with entrance on the upper floor for winter. In California mountains, not here by the beach. This winter it has been drizzling a little bit here, but I understand that the mountains have gotten good snow. California needs that water.
@@evansontour281 Hehe yes indeed and there is a fair amount of bears in that area of Finland, a relative got chewed by a bear when he was out hunting, lickiy he had a friend with who managed to put down the bear before my relative was killed.
Looks like you guys had some good time! Next time, however, put the clothes a little bit further away from the fire. The bricks will heat up pretty fast so you can put them in the side. Safer that way 🙂

Impressive. I'm glad you survived. To be correct Iso-Syöte is the southernmost fell in the country but it is not in Lapland.
Ah that's a good spot. We flew into Rovaniemi but obviously drove out of the region of Lapland

It easy to get stuck in the deep snow, especially if the snow is heavy.
It's easy to do. And not knowing what you're treading over could be dangerous. Might be trying to trample over a bear pit 😂

I was at a party at Palos Verdes some decades ago. They went to dry their clothes in a microwave after Jacuzzi, did not turn out too well.
btw syöte or iso-syöte is nowhere near to even the southernmost border of lapland ...
